Gamorr, Jugsmuk Settlement

latest

Sith Heavy troopers with air squadron reinforcement had been positioned to intervene and assault with full force if necessary. However, it appeared that the Empire wished to conduct things in a more peaceful and less violent manner if possible. Imperial intelligence had encountered an insider, a Gamorran by the name of Grugo, who had been promised certain riches and assurances from Darth Victress if he were to assist in this maneuver. After all, it was only time before either the Empire or Mandalorians came invading and they had to convince the Gamorrans that Imperial might was far attractive.

In the midst of nightfall, a trio of Sith lead by the now Dark Councilor, Darth Victress moved through the settlement with ease. The Darth herself was dressed in her customary black hades armor, an ebony helmet obscuring her face while shades of darkened cloaks allowed her to blend in with the void of blackness surrounding them. She had her twin sabers at her sides as well as a Pugio blaster pistol as well for back up reassurances. The Darth kept her commlink muted for now, though with a push of her button, battatlion of Sith troopers remained ready to swarm down upon the settlement and advance if necessary towards the fortress.

They moved into what appeared as a single cottage home, fireplace burning brightly while cups of mead were decorate on the wooden dining table. Slowly opening the door, they moved inside and address their informant as he had likely been awaiting their arrival.

"Good evening Grugo, we finally meet in person..I hope you weren't waiting long?"

Markov walked through the Jugsmuk settlement besides Darth Victress and Brolo. The trio was heading for a Gamorran who had fidelity towards the empire. Allegedly, he would have information that would help them take control of the planet without the need of a full scale invasion nor violence. It was him who had the idea to take this planet to develop an enclave in enemy space. Hopefully, if this plan worked he could possibly gain reputation within the Sith to gain access to more knowledge and allies, especially having a Sith Lady at this mission he would hope he could give off some kind of impression.

It was nearly dusk whenever they were heading to the location of the insider. He had his curved lightsaber and his general lightsaber both hidden under the cloak of his armor. He also had a blaster also ready if things were to become messy. The helmet he was wearing made the details of his face covered in the inky shadow of his hood; his eyes weren't visible.

He followed Victress to the cottage, knowing that she knew the exact location as the entered. Her being the leader of the group from rank, she would do the majority of the talking. The ornateness of the cottage was quite relaxing in contrast to the places he resided in, even his own home that he grew up at in Courscant. the group now came up to the Gamorran, known as Grugo, and @Darth Victress greeted him as they stood back to both guard her and set the 'diplomatic'-esque atmosphere; it wasn't the first time he had done something in this form.

"We thank you for inviting us to your cottage, Grugo. I hope we haven't been much of a burden to you." he said simply as he fell back again to let his leader do the talking, as it were polite to.

Brolo walked behind Darth Victress and along side Markov as they made their way through the Gamorrean village. He tried to not let a look of disappointment show on his face as they made their way to Grugo's hut. He'd been lead to believe they were going to be busting some pigface skulls in, but unfortunately this was going to be a diplomatic mission. He along with Markov were just here to provide support and possible protection to the dark lady. To that end he carried his lightsaber, pistol, and vibroknife on him as well as his old trusty light armor.

As they walked Brolo couldn't help thinking that with a few more bombed out buildings and a few less mucky swamps, Gamoor was kinda like Ziost. He figured his mind would probably be wandering a lot on this mission as he'd probably be borderline dead from boredom. Still he'd do his best to at least put on an air of giving a reek shite. Figured that having even a little favor with a dark council member never hurt anybody.

They finally arrived at Grugo's home and stepped inside. It was about what anybody would expect of a Gamorrean's home, filthy, smelly, and cramped...Brolo didn't entirely hate it. Reminded him of the good ol days back in his quarters in the fighting pits. The other 2 introduced themselves and Brolo figured he might as well do the same. "Yeah nice place ya got here Grugo, pleasure to meet ya bud."

With that he'd probably borderline turn his brain off as the talk of politics and trade deals would begin in earnest, he could only hope something would blow the kark up soon and give him some fun.

Grugo was immense.

As where his guards, Brugo and Drugo, who stood either side of his collosal high-backed throne, arms foled across their chests.

As where the members of the several-hundred strong Phalanx of Gamorrean Warhogs that stood outside. All of them, Grugo, Burgo and Drugo included, armed with large axes and hefty looking rifles - leather and duraplate armour clearly showing they meant business.

He sneered at the newcomers, soft looking coreworld folk to the bone. "Me Grugo. You Sith. We no like trouble Mr. Sith." he said, his voice low and dripping with sarcasm, as his face split into a wide grin, and he let out a loud booming laugh. "Fit the steroetype doesn't it? Yet, I did not get to be Warlord by being a dimwitted oaf, so tell me, what brings three Sith to my settlement?" he sat forward in chair, and waited for their reply.

Arianna waited for Grugo to finish his impersonation routine, bringing a light chuckle towards the face of the Darth. She was here on business, but despite all the vile stories citizens may have spoken of the Dark Lords, she enjoyed a bit of amusement as well. Tilting her head towards the two bodyguards, her piercing gaze fell slowly back upon Grugo as he spoke in basic rather than the artificially laced Gamorrean accent.

"Indeed Grugo, fits the stereotype very well..It is very simple as to why we are here. As much as we enjoy hearing the words Warlord Grugo, we feel that King Grugo would be a more suitable title." She said, her voice robotic and more mechanical as it was twisted by the force but appeared as though it volleyed simply from the durasteel helm covering her face. "With certain assurances from me, we can make that a reality."

It was a simple offer, Grugo would help her and the Sith take the fortress and once the leader was eliminated, she would allow the ambitious Gamorran to assume command as a vassal for the Empire. In her mind, a natural win win but she waited to see how her host would view the proposal.

Markov agreed with the Sith Lady; they’d need to insert a loyalist as a dominate to gain the control of Gamorr without making it such a violent siege. He felt the force around him particularly assisting Victress as he examined the the postures of Grugo and his primary bodyguards. “We can assure you... we will be able to make you the true leader of the population of this area. Yes... a warlord would make the perfect king the people will be able to suit easily. We will eliminate your opposition...” Markov said, sounding less mechanical as the lady, but still none the less.

If Grugo was on board then this plan would make taking this as an empire settlement more acceptable, for who wouldn’t love their hero to be the ruler of their people? Surely to him this ambassador to the empire would be able to follow their orders after they establish him so the empire has indirect control. If he didn’t comply nor the people then they could just take the planet by force; it was quite the little to no risk, high reward situation.

The Gamorrean raised his hand to appeal for silence, and smiled, for their proposal was as blunt as it was bizzare. "So to confirm," he paused, as if contemplating what he was about to say "You want me to be your pawn?" he smirked. In his eyes, that is exactly what these Imperials wanted, a Government with him as its figurehead, propped up by the legions of their empire.

"Why Gamor?" he asked, acutely aware of his peoples potency as warriors. It has not yet escaped his notice, that the Empire was in need of troops, and should they install a puppet regime here, there would be little stopping a mass-conscription of his kinsmen.

The dark lord looked at Grugo for a few moments as he spoke, considering the response that she would make in order to continue their line of conversation and push the Gamorrean towards aligning with her thoughts. It was the subtle tact of diplomacy, to present an option such that both parties would agree, after all, the art of the deal surmised that a win-win would hardly ever be refused. As she was about to speak, she received a comm-link notification from her troops' commander, indicating that the army had moved in position towards the fortress. She nodded in acknowledgment, the only thing left to do was to convince the Gamorrean warlord to lend his assistance and claim his rightful position as King.

"Gamor has been a staple of strength and courage for centuries, its warriors renowned through the galaxy for their martial prowess. It would be a privilege to have the planet as a member of imperial might." She replied, moving slowly to the side as she glanced through the windows of his home and onto the quiet streets outside. "The King of Gamor would never be a pawn, you would retain full autonomy to rule your planet as you wish. I am quite aware of your public disdain for the current ruler. Allow my forces to assist you in claiming the position for yourself. In return for those assurances, the planet would retain as a Vassal, your rule would be unquestioned with the backing of Imperial legions to shield you from unsavory Mandalorian conquest."

There were many force sensitives on Gamor, it was only a matter of time before some of them decided to either fight with the Sith or against them. She then turned to face him to ask, "Are there specific hesitations that you have?"

Markov kept agreeing with Darth Victress. The amount of assets that they could gain for having Gamorr as an autonomy to the Empire, especially force sensitives. "You, as our ally and especially a king, would be a great leader of this planet, and autonomy of your rule would just make that even more significant. This is your chance to become the leader you've desired to become, and help your people in your name. With our help, we'll be able to make sure this planet is protected from the barbaric tyranny the Mandalorians would cause. Our Imperials will defend this planet alongside you." Markov said.

It would be soon for Victress' forces to take the fortress, and if Grugo accepted this deal, then it would make the aftermath of the takeover of the fortress far more easy for the Gamorrans to deal with. Markov knew that the Sith Lady should be able to make sure its win-win, no matter what the plan entails. He glanced to the streets quickly, notating the trainquility of the streets, not wanting to break it for a useless conflict based on one decision. He turned to Grugo as Victress asked if he had anything that he fears about the hypothetical deal.

The Gamorrean Warlord smiled as the two Sith made their proposition clear. It was a good deal, he ruled the planet, and maybe did the odd favour for them - yet, he still could not shake his doubt. He knew how Empires worked, and they did not function in the same was as was being proposed. Autonomy was good, no doubt, but what did the Empire want in return?

"Your proposal is a tempting one indeed, but tell me Darth and," he paused, waving a chubby hand at the other Sith "...what do you and your Empire get out of this arranegment? In short, what do you want in return?"

Resting both his hands on his belt as he leaned back in his chair, the hefty Gamorrean placed his feet on a footstall in front of him, and eagerly awaited their reply.

The dark lord continued to look out of the windows, her gaze hidden behind that helm but it was obvious that she was peering out into the darkened abyss, glancing at local citizens of Gamor go about their lives. The galaxy had turned into an unusual place, and for a sizable portion of sentient individuals, they would simply continue to exist. The turmoil of rebellion didn't seem to phase them and for a brief second of time, Arianna was seemingly envious. They did not have a care in the world, no stress on their heads, and certainly did not wield the mantle of responsibility. However, that was not the life that was destined for her; as the dark councilor and arguably the second most influential person for the single most powerful organization in the Galaxy, her duties were far different.

She turned slowly towards Grugo, her voice continued to be corrupted and partially robotic as it flowed from behind the confines of the terror inspiring duraplast visage. "For centuries, the golden age of Sith had promised peace and prosperity to the Galaxy. This is another extension of those assurances.." She replied as she slowly moved slightly away from him and back towards the windows. She smirked lightly and spoke again. "I can sense the conflict within you Grugo. You wonder if your adversary's followers will ever support you? And whether you have it in you to betray the one that placed you at helm of Warlord itself.." She turned once more and walked closer to him; the Darth had a palpable but unseen power, an aura almost that made the most courageous of soldiers wilt away in terror. She was significantly smaller than the Gamorrean but yet spoke with a certain zealous conviction, almost mesmerizing in its method.

"The force has willed you a gift, an opportunity to claim your rightful destiny.."

Markov’s posture changed, however. He listened to the Darth’s remarks about the ambition of the empire and agreed. Turning to the window he also took a glimpse at the streets outside. The articulation and sense that Victress gave was astounding on the level of how strong it was. The Sith smiled under his mask as he attempted to feel what the people nearby him did, and especially from hearing about the empire’s desire.

“The force promises of your rightful regiment being prosperous... I have no doubt that your people will enjoy your rule, even if it takes them a while to adjust to... To gain power you must betray and take it all, no matter the risk...” Markov said in a very soothing tone. “You must take this opportunity, strike your former allies down for your good... and then, and only then, you will feel the glory of power seethe trough you. This shall be for the good of the Gamorrans and the good of the Empire, and you shall help with the golden age of your planet and create one for ours...”

Markov turned to Grugo, waiting for his response to his testament, hoping that his tone was persuasive enough to drive him into wanting to coup to rule for the good of the empire. “Your rule will be an honor to the empire and you shall make another assurance of fidelity.. and we will help you proposer Gamorr. I pray tell you will be able to do this?”

Markov stood back, now further from Grugo than Victress, waiting for his answer.

The Gamorrean warlord had been through many negotiations before - dividing up conquered lands and riches, seeking a temporary truce or brokering an alliance. Although Grugo's negotiating partners had exclusively been other Gamorreans, he liked the think that he was still capable of navigating the intricacies of diplomacy. What he weren't used to, however, was how these Sith kept stringing together long sentences, much longer than what was needed to convey what they were saying. Nonetheless, they had something to offer, and Grugo was the interested buyer.

Both Brugo and Drugo tensed up as the Dark Lord approached their chief. Grugo couldn't help but to feel a little nervous himself, but he kept a strong facade and simply threw an annoyed look at Brugo before returning his attention to the Imperials. Both made convincing arguments, but to his dismay, the all revolved around prosperity and his apparent reluctance to betray his former allies.

The immense creature shifted his weight as he removed his feet from the stool and leaned forward in his throne "I am warlord Grugo, I have betrayed allies in the past and I will do so again" he said in a rather sudden burst, allowing his booming voice to echo throughout the chambers. The Siths' arguments regarding stabbing his allies in the back had apparently worked. The Gamorrean did, however, see the irony in the situation and smirked devilishly before he continued "But if we ally, we shall remain friends for a good long time, as long as we keep each other's backs scratched."

Grugo regarded the two negotiators for both one and two moments as he considered the deal, but his previous question had certainly not been answered. "Prosperity, peace, legions of Imperial troops to defend us!" he listed the promises which had been made while looking at Darth Victress as he waved around his grand left arm. The warlord continued the list as he turned to the other "...autonomy and myself as King." His voice had a more sinister tone to it now that he noted his own personal benefits.

The immense Gamorrean's eyes gazed down at the floor as he produced a low grumbling humming sound as he thought the list over. Grugo looked back up, a short glance at the male, and then to the Dark Lord "But what do you want in return?" he asked again, this time mildly frustrated as the Gamorrean very much preferred straight answers.

The dark lord was unphased with the continued line of questioning, seemingly Grugo was hell bent on asking the same question over again even though she fully knew that both of them were aware of the real answer. It was perhaps a test or even a charade, nonetheless, it provided a subtle amusement for the Gamorrean and she supposed she would allow him that much brevity. She chuckled darkly, the air around them saturating with her vile power as her attention shifted to the Warlord. "The galaxy is at war, and when the Empire calls, we expect you to answer.." She said, simple but powerful.

It was the presumed arrangement, the Empire would place Grugo as the mantle of leadership to run and command his planet as he chose fit. But nothing came without a cost, and when the war between Mandalorians and Sith would erupt, it was clear which side Victress expected Grugo to align.

"Do we have a deal?...King Grugo..." She said.

Markov kept listening to the repetitious questions that Grugo had. At this point, he was quite bored and ready to just end the meeting. He was just waiting for Grugo to officially accept the deal. The moment he did, Victress would deploy her troops and take the fortress in Jugsmuk, and then Grugo would become king. The fake benevolence throughout the room rang as now the final offer has been given.

"Yes... You will be a great ally to the Empire. Prosperity, peace, and fame for Grugo... Prosperity, peace, and fame for The Empire! A war is coming... and we shall conquer it no matter the vile difficulty..." He paused after his appraisal. His voice became more cold and mechanical as he spoke more darkly.

"The Empire shall be served well, and Gamorr shall prosper in the wake of your rule... King Grugo..."

This planet was necessary to be an ally and part of the Empire. To have a planet in this sector would benefit the Empire in the incoming war against the Mandalorians. Markov smirked as dark aura surrounded him as he reeked with a spark of power, more than before. He looked into Grugo's eyes sharply, his eyes turning more of a yellow hue from cyan while standing beside the Sith Lady, awaiting his answer.

A smirk grew on the immense Gamorrean's lips as he listened to the woman. A straight and short answer without throwing around big words and what he considered to be empty phrases. That very much matched what he wanted. Grugo was no brute, not at all, but the warlord had way more appreciation for the directness which they showed now rather than the elegantly worded phrases he had heard earlier.

It was no secret that the Empire had the upper hand against the Gamorreans in regards to military might, and these negotiators had proved that they could be reasoned with. The warlord's smirk grew even larger as the Dark Lord called him king, but that was not all, for soon, the other spoke too. A leery grin grew on Grugo's fat lips "Prosperity and peace.. after you've attacked our royal palace and after we've answered your call to arms" he responded, both noting the Sith's choice of words and confirming that there would indeed be an pact between them.

Rising to his feet, the warlord clapped his hands together "We have a deal!" His voice boomed loudly, even enough for his warhogs outside the building to hear, resulting in a muffled cheering sound reaching into the house. Grugo had a satisfied grin plastered on his face as he looked at the Imperials, ready to do his part in becoming King and prepared to let Gamorr take its place in the Empire.
