Intent: Intended for use in medical recovery, the workplace, or the battlefield, the EKS-0a assists in reducing physical strain on the user, while also supporting each movement. Be it for rehabilitation of injury victims, increased productivity in the workplace, or reduced fatigue and enhanced movements on the battlefield, the EKS-0a is there to help. (OOC: Just an interesting way to do things. Don't want a cybernetic set of replacements because your character had a spinal accident? Use the EKS-0a to help them walk again! Does your character work long manual hours, but need energy for life outside of the job? Use the EKS-0a to reduce physical strain and mental fatigue, as well as possibly reduce chance for workplace injury. On the battlefield, and finding your character exhausted and unable to keep up physically with your peers? write a tougher character. Use the EKS-0a!)

Name: External Kinetic Support Zero Apparatus [EKS-0a] or EKS0 (pronounced 'Exo')

Type: Exoskeletal Support Apparatus

Power Supply: Hydraulic system that adds support to the user's movements. Sensory systems powered by a self-charging kinetic power cell (it charges more if you move more; can also be plugged into any power outlet if you have the right adapter :p).

Sensors: Senses when you move, what your are moving, and identifies how and what to do to support the movements.

Size: Customizable; built specifically to fit your character.

Composition: Plasteel, durasteel, optional external additions/components

Description: This piece of tech is there to help your character with their physical needs. Added strength to help with fatigue, hydraulic support add increased movement and movement speed, and the sturdy frame helps support you on your feet. While offering little to no protection from weapons, it can fit over light armor if used in combat. It can be outfitted per the user's specifications with things to directly assist them in their tasks; from a datapad to an extra tank of fire-putter-out spray, a larger medkit, or even something as extreme as a jump pack, this apparatus is there to support you. (as a side note, this thing will totally get locked up by an EMP blast of almost any kind. A release lever is located on the inner left side, but could be difficult to get to if you are stuck by an EMP.)

Exo armor has been stayed away from for a few reasons. 1, people just get cybernetics, 2, it isn't (or at least hasn't in previous timelines as far as i know) been very star wars compatible in promoting the feel of star wars universe.

Ok. I will state that it isn't an armor, as it both does not offer protection (as stated in the writeup) and is strictly for physical support. Now, addressing your concerns in order:
1, this is an alternative to cybernetics if you don't want a cyborg character, 2, does a bionic mechanical support - similar to but not a cybernetic - not promote the 'Star Wars feel'? I think that having an external frame to bionically support the user would fit in just fine. Here's some Wookieepedia links to something similar, but more militaristic than I intend:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Light_exoskeleton http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Heavy_exoskeleton http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Trooper_Project http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Clone_blaze_trooper http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_trooper http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zero-G_assault_stormtrooper http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Exoskeleton

Also, the Wikipedia article I retrieved a small amount of information from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powered_exoskeleton

Kotor online is not technically revognized as canon. Dark trooper project is over a thousand years in the future as is the blaze trooper armor and is super bulky, pondering and heavy, not like the type of stuff you're suggesting.

Yes, that is why I said what I linked is similar, but more militaristic (a.k.a. advanced, tougher, bulkier, etc.) Do you have any edits you'd like me to make, or should we just peacefully debate how a wearable Exoskeleton is less Star Wars-y than a robot arm for the rest of the afternoon?

I'm not saying it makes sense ( look at how ineffective slug throwers are considered in this universe). I'm just letting you know what other people might say (or already have on other tech). That's all. Some people have expressed a view that they don't want this tl to be as tech oriented as the last one. If you really want this approved as is that's fine. I'd actually have a character i'm making probably use it but it has to be approved first.

Yeah, thanks. Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh or unfriendly, I was just trying to explain what I wrote.

Mmm...I might consider approving this if it has more of an industrial bent and appearance. Think...Ripley in the Power Loader. So it wouldn't be the most practical in combat unless you're fighting a Xenomorph, lol.

@Killtec are you still interested in this?
I could use it in the future, but I lost interest in the character I was creating it for. If you think it would be beneficial to have around then I'll work with you to get it approved, if not then you can archive it.

I'll archive it for now, then, but you can always bring it up again.
