(Open to any Jedi who has reasons to be at the Grandmaster's Office)

Not long after the disaster of Kashyyyk Clove summoned the courage and strength to return to the Jedi Order's temple. While her short break at her family's farm was more than welcome, she was restless and unable to get the level of relaxation she wanted. And so, she found herself in the temple's halls, her cane tucked beneath her armpit for support.

Her steps led her to the office of the Grandmaster. Fortunately for her, she stayed out of trouble for the most part and only saw the Councillors and Grandmaster on rare occasions, making this a rarity of a trip. Her fist was about to knock on the door when she came to a halt, her hand hovering. She knew very well that Alex had already known she was lingering in front of the door, it was the Grandmaster after all, but she hesitated. The galaxy was closing in on them, with planets left and right ordering the Jedi Order's banishment. The Grandmaster must've had a lot on her plate and a lot on her mind, and yet Clove wanted to bother her. It felt... wrong.

And yet, her fist found the door, knocking on the metal frame. As wrong as it felt to bother, she had a way to help the Jedi Order and she wanted to tell the Grandmaster about it. "Grandmaster Alexandria? Can I bother you for a second?"

She also had some things to confess now that her Jedi Knight trials were drawing to a close.

A holo of the galactic atlas spun in the Grandmaster’s office. Alex stared hard at the twinkling landscape. Republic, ISC, FWA, Sith and Jedi all mushed together. She focused on the worlds marked with Jedi Temples. How long would they be welcome? She didn’t know. Kashyyyk had changed too much…more than she had ever considered possible. The Order had seemed stable for the first time in years. Now, she was faced with picking up the pieces again. The galaxy was not so naive as to forget the crimes of the Sith. That did not change the wanning desire for Jedi aid. They were spread thin with uncertain alliances. Yavin was home…the rest…uncertain. Not for the first time, she wondered if the fleet might be put to a difference use.

Alex folded her arms in a huff. The Force gave her no answers. These next steps would belong to her alone. Was it time to be brave? She never found the end of that thought. A similar presence whisked against her senses. Clove…hovering outside the door. A nervous bundle of energy waited for a moment before knocking on the door. A waggle of Alex’s fingers sent the door sliding open. She smiled at Crix’s apprentice. He had done well with her, even as she recovered from Dantooine. “Of course, young one, come in.” She smiled and gestured towards one of the many chairs.

Never a bother. Sit…sit.” Another flick of her hand sent the atlas away. No need to leave that up. “What’s on your mind?” Alex sat at the edge of her desk, carefully uncrossing her arms. She knew from Crix that Clove was nearing the end of her trials of Knighthood. By all accounts, she would be leaving her childhood behind soon. The girl had earned it. Her actions on Kashyyyk had been brave. Reporting your fellow Jedi was never easy but it showed tremendous courage.

"Sir, I insist you wait here with me. The Grandmaster is in a meeting. She'll see you the moment she's done." Jon waved and shushed the droid away, and continued walking towards the entrance to the Grandmaster's office. He had heard that excuse a million times, old Oota had loved pulling this trick, make people wait to teach them patience or whatever. Well, he might have fallen for that in the past, he wasn't going to fall for it again.

"Yeah, yeah, I heard you. I'm sure she's super busy," he used his greater height and reach to simply push the droid out of the way and reach for the door, which slid open even as he reached for it, and still he continued speaking, "I'm sure she's just drowning in work." He stepped through the doorway and noticing the grandmaster sitting alone at her desk, he turned to the droid with a triumphant and cocky smile on his lips.

"In a meeting, huh?" He took a few steps in, and only then did he notice the girl sitting in a seat across from the grandmaster. He stopped, and it was the droid's turn to give him a look that just dripped with smug annoyance. He had always wondered how they managed that, to actually convey such emotions without having the physical means to do so. It was the posture, the tilt of the head, despite what anyone said they were about as alive as everyone else.

The droid bowed to the grandmaster, apologized, and stepped away. And though it had been over a decade since he had last been called into the grandmaster's office, in a different temple, with a different grandmaster, as the droid retreated he got the distinct feeling she expected him to be in just as much trouble today as he had been all those years ago.

"Sorry," he started, about to say more when he realized who the other girl was. "Hey, you're the girl, from Kashyyyk. Right? Good job on handling that shit show," his tone warm and comforting, he just slid into a seat besides her as if he was always meant to be there for whatever conversation the padawan was having with the grandmaster, "taking control, explaining the situation to them. For all you know they had inhaled too much smoke on the ground and were simply not fully in control. Not treating them like idiots but still being effective, good crisis management." Turning to the grandmaster, he noticed a bowl of some dried candies on the table and scooped some up and tossed one casually into his mouth. "Pity the others weren't this level headed, right?"

Sevrin was somewhat of a boogeyman for the Sith. They had been hunting him for some time now, and that was part of why he made himself scarce around Jedi worlds. Funnily enough, most of his time was spent behind Imperial borders, the last place they ever looked. He quietly led and carried out invasions to snatch worlds from the Sith without them ever uncovering his identity. Media didn’t know who he was and he preferred to keep it that way.

However, even he couldn’t ignore the disaster that followed the events on Kashyyyk. He knew the Grandmaster would feel more alone than ever. While she was wise, she still had very human emotions that would burn her now more than ever before. The Dark Side was patient and insidious, and it would choose moments like these to manifest. It would plant subtle seeds to bloom and destroy a person from the inside. The Sephi arrived to keep that at bay and to remind her that she had allies.

The tall figure heard the chatter of others arriving at Alex’s chambers, but it wouldn’t stop him. He bowed his head to enter through the doorway, remaining there as he saw the others there. His head was almost near the ceiling of the office, his piercing silver eyes fixed on just Alex. He gave her a reassuring nod before his gaze flicked to the others in the room. For now, he said nothing, almost considering stepping back. However, something told him he wasn’t exactly unwelcome here.

Clove walked through the office with a timid smile, heading for the chair the Grandmaster had gestured at. For a brief moment, all that could be heard was the silent humming of the atlas and the tap of the cane on the floor. She sat down as gracefully as she could once she was in front of the chair, her complaining legs grateful for the break. "Thank you so much; I really appreciate you taking your time for me."

The door behind them opened before she could open her mouth to say what was on her mind. Her ears twitched, and the half-Annfyn, almost startled, looked over her shoulder at the figure who entered the room. He didn't appear to be a threat, her Force remaining dull and silent in the background rather than flashing warning lights. So her shoulders slowly relaxed, and she turned in her chair to face the Grandmaster.

Meanwhile, the man sat down beside her, as if he had always been there. The girl's fluted ears lit up with a violet blush when he spoke to her and complimented her. Her large dark brown eyes danced towards him for a second, looking back into his. "Uhm, yeh, that's me. I'm Clove Vanhoop. Thank you, I was just... trying to help the Wookiees!" Jon didn't need to be as skilled in the Force as the Grandmaster to notice the twinge of pain in her eyes when the Wookiees were mentioned, but she quickly moved on.

Her mouth opened again, and once again, she was interrupted by the opening of the door.

She looked over her shoulder, as she had before, at the tall figure who entered the room, or rather, the doorframe. It was Sevrin, the mysterious Jedi Master with whom she—and the other padawans—had a few combat lessons before the man disappeared to fight the Sith once again. The man was a legend among the Jedi Padawans.

Clove rose a hand with a tiny smile and a nod of the head to greet the Jedi Master, feeling even more flustered, before turning her gaze to Alexandria for the second time in that meeting.

She was going to do it, she had to say it now. Sure, there were other people there, but who cared. Plus, Sevrin and the stranger next to her were both... strangely soothing to be around. Like they both belonged right where they were. "Well, Grandmaster Alexandria. I'd like to give the Jedi Order 250,000 credits. And 75,000 credits on top of that to, hopefully, with your permission, start the foundations of a Jedi medical facility where anyone, regardless of background, species, or age, can receive free healthcare."

Clove's cheeks were burning and she was clearly nervous about presenting her idea, but her determined gaze never left the Grandmaster's. Now she had the first part out of the way; all that remained was for her to confess how she obtained the money.

After we did some calculating based on several Star Wars Credit sources, we assumed that 250,000 credits equals around 1 million dollars, which means 75,000 credits equals around 300,000 dollars.

Tupe was deep in thought.

Or napping.

He had not yet decided which. Regardless, he had been sitting cross-legged in the small garden next door to the Grand Masters 'office' for about seven hours. The elderly Jedi had selected this garden precisely because it's location normally meant it would be silent.

As such, he had snapped open his left eye in irritation when not just one, but three fellow members of the order had come hammering down the corridor and into the Grand Masters Office. "Typical. Just typical." he grumbled, uncrossing his legs and reaching for his walking stick, before walking past the protesting droid and into the Grand Masters's office to confront the three disruptive Jedi.

Catching Clove mid-pitch, he found the irritation he felt swiftly evaporate. Given what she was proposing, it was easy to understand her urgency. He didn't speak immediately as she wound up her suggestion, aware that he was;t actually meant to be here, but, after a few moments, he spoke up from the back of the room "Forgive the intrusion, Grand Master, but I commend the suggestion by the Padawan. For what it is worth, I can offer nothing by way of credits, for I have none to my name, but where I can I would be pleased to support your endeavour. What happened on Kashyyyk scarred us all, and we ought do what we can to see those wounds healed."

Suddenly her office was very busy. Clove was immediately followed by Jon, Sevrin, and Tupe. “Yes, everyone please come in.” Her eyes brows raising slightly. Alex briefly met eyes with Sevrin. She was glad he was here. The burns had healed well since the Eternal’s attack. Her mind flicked to his, shielded from the others. “Stay please.” Alex quickly returned her attention to the room. Slowly processing what Clove had offered.

“Clove…that is extraordinarily generous.” Where had she gotten such resources? She remembered very little of Clove’s background…a peril of the job. “Your trials are near complete, are they not?” She at least remembered that. “I can think of no better way to begin your Knighthood than with this task.” A broad smile spread across her face. “You should be proud.” Her gaze shifted to Jon and Tupe.

“Jedi Yashu and Jedi Antilles have even volunteered to help.” Her smile grew wider. “There is risk to barging into the Grandmaster’s office.” Finally, her geared turned back to the size of the funds. “Where did you find the funds?” There were not many 18-year-olds running around with pockets overflowing with credits. Clove was a good soul. Alex really did not have concerns, but it was always important to ask.

Although her twitching fluted ears revealed she was very much aware someone new had entered the room, the sound of the door opening for the third time that day no longer caused her to look around. Clove only looked over her shoulder when he spoke up from the back of the room, noticing the older-looking Jedi. Her cheeks burned a little brighter after the compliment, and she smiled gratefully at the Jedi.

Her large chocolate brown eyes returned to the Grandmaster. She not only did not refuse the money, but she also agreed with the medical facility concept. Sugar, it got even better! Her plan was aided by two Jedi! "Yes! We only have two more trials to go. Master Aran has been incredible. Thank you, so much." She wanted to go on and on about how grateful she was to the Grandmaster for entrusting her with such a grand task. To supervise the facility's construction alongside two other Jedi. But she bit her tongue. "I'm sure we'll make something great together!" She smiled at the two Jedi who had 'volunteered' to help her, eager to get to meet them and brainstorm the first plans.

And then came the dreaded question she knew was coming. And part of why she was in the Grandmaster's Office.

Her thumbs nervously fiddling with the cuffs of her Jedi robes, the half-Annfyn's smile dropped just a smidgeon. No going back now. "Well, that's also why I'm here. To tell you this. See, uhm, back when I was wheelchair-bound, I had this... slight... desire to see the rest of the galaxy, to get a taste of life while I was still able." As one would expect after nearly losing her life not once, but twice. "That's how I discovered Huttball. I decided to give it a shot, thinking the majority of it was fake, similar to those strange wrestling shows my father enjoys watching. I signed up as Hell on (W)heels, complete with mask and all. It turns out that it's very real." The girl's cheeks began to burn brighter and brighter as she rambled, until even her fluted ears turned a shade of pink. "It was too late by the time I realized what had happened; I was already in the middle of the tournament. But, my team and I ended up winning."

Clove took a breath and swallowed nervously as she paused for a moment. "After winning, I double-checked that the money I received was legal and then transferred it to credits. After that, I purchased the cybernetic spine implant, donated credits to the man (@Altaris) I hurt during the Huttball and gave my mother enough credits to kickstart her fashion company." Her smile grew brighter for a split second as she remembered her mother's burst of laughter and joyful tears, before she returned her attention to the task at hand. "And now I'm here to hand over the remaining credits to the Jedi Order. Because it doesn't feel right to just run around with that money knowing that others need it more than I do."

And, well, She'd also never have to worry about money again now that her mother's business was expanding at a healthy rate.

Her rambling came to an end. Her gaze lowered to her own knuckles as she bit her lower lip for a moment. "I understand that ignorance is not an excuse, and donating to the Jedi Order is not meant as a bribe. I'll accept whatever punishment you deem appropriate."

Alex kept silent while Clove explained. Her stare leveling all hundred years of wisdom at the Padawan. Finally, she could keep the act up no longer. As Clove completed her story, Alex smiled. A light laugh echoed in the offer. A voice in the back of her mind whispered if she could remember the last time she laughed. “Clove…” She shook her head and ran a hand through her hair. “What reputation have I conjured if you thought I would punish you for that.” A small laugh again escaped.

“Certainly, you are welcome to explore the galaxy. It is part of growing up. I would never expect you to stay locked away.” Alex’s younger years had been spent in a variety of bad choices.

“I personally may find Huttball unappealing but you did not hurt anyone too badly and it is legal.” Alex met Clove’s gaze. “Would I have preferred you not play? Of course. Are you in trouble? No.” The word rang with finality. “Now, put these funds to good use. You have a kind heart Clove. I know you’ll do what is right.” She smiled again. There was still some wisdom knocking around in that hear of hers. She turned to regard the rest of the gathering. “Anyone else have anything they need to confess? Large sums of money they would care to donate?” For once, Alex felt as if her feet were back on the right path. If only for a moment.
