BIOGRAPHY

When Essla Ta'dek (born Eslata'dek) was a young girl, her parents were killed by a group of marauding slavers and Imperials. She was thrown into prison and scheduled for sale but managed to escape with several other slaves, including a human male named Darrke. Darrke took the young Essla under his wing and opened a small scrapyard on Lothal. During a trade, she discovered a mostly intact ARC-170 starfighter, and it became her pet project. However, the slavers and Imperials, wishing to retake their 'property,' raided the junkyard, mortally wounding Darrke. Although Essla was able to repulse them with the half-functioning ARC-170's weapons, Darrke died soon after. For the next few weeks, Essla worked on the fighter and studied the history surrounding it, as well as her own. She learned of the deeds of notable Twi'leks such as Aayla Secura and Hera Syndulla, becoming fascinated with them to the point of having tattoos on her lekku that mimicked those of Hera. Eventually, she left the planet, venturing around the galaxy and doing everything from bounty hunting to dishwashing to keep her alive and fed. More recently, she dropped supplies to survivors on Coruscant, which started her thinking about joining a humanitarian group.

Skills

Essla is an excellent mechanic due to her large amount of practice fixing things in the scrapyard, and during her time as a wanderer, she has become an excellent shot as well. However, Essla is very impulsive and will shoot first and ask questions later.
