Before even landing on Thyferra Zak had reached out to the office of Emryc Thorne, President of the ISC. He had done this with two fold purpose, one was as courtesy to ensure the presence of so many Jedi on the world wouldn’t come as a shock or surprise. The second purpose was to reach out to the man in order to speak with him personally. Zak wanted to change the way the galaxy had come to view his Order and the first step in that direction was here.

Despite his more diplomatic mindset, Zak hadn’t come wearing fineries or Jedi robes. Instead, he wore a pair of work boots, shorts, thick work gloves, and simple white t-shirt. Both his lightsabers were still clipped to the belt loops of his shorts as there was still potentially Killik on the planet. Because of that, it was best to air on the side of both safety and caution.

Zak had spent the early morning helping with rubble clean up. The heat of the day with shelter set up. Now that it was late in the afternoon, Zak took some time for himself and had wandered off to the site of the battle. He found himself standing where not long ago he had fought to get to, the epicenter of the Nirn Queen’s telekinetic wrath. A cold shiver ran down Zak’s spine as he remembered sensing the the Queen’s intent right before it was unleashed. He remembered the moment of cold fear, followed by understanding, and then acceptance.

The site itself had changed drastically, the bodies and much of the rubble had been cleared. It even seemed like reconstruction of the Cadir’s office had begun. Zak pulled his data pad from the pocket of his shorts and pinged his location to Emryc’s office, assuming it would alert him to where Zak hoped to meet with him. This place had been where their fates had been spun together and he hoped that it might be the beginning of a more fruitful relationship between the ISC and the Jedi.

Thyferra had an extensive amount of work left to be done. Emryc still kept a pulse on all things Corellia, hearing constant updates on reports of the situation. Despite all that, he was advised by his aides to continue making time for the Jedi on the planet. It was good PR, they said. The half Sephi understood the sentiment even if he wasn’t too thrilled about having them roaming around his planet like cockroaches. He agreed to meet with this particular Jedi because he guessed the man wouldn’t attempt to push some dramatic agenda. If it had been anyone else, the President likely would have declined.

Once Zak arrived, he would only need to wait briefly before a droid led him to Emryc’s office. The doors would open to reveal a massive office with a balcony that opened up to the natural forests behind it. The half Sephi finished up a call right as the Jedi entered. Unlike usual, Emryc was adorned in a simple dress shirt and jeans, likely a surprising sight for the man that generally dressed to the nines.

“Councilor,” He greeted as he rose from his desk and went over to shake the Jedi’s hand, “Thank you once again for your assistance during the battle,” Emryc said as he gestured for Zak to take a seat across him, “Do you partake in drinking by chance?” Jedi had a reputation of being rather straight edge most of the time. If he declined, Emryc would still pour himself a glass of whiskey before sitting down.

“What did you wish to discuss?”

Shortly after Zak had sent his location to President Thorne’s office, an escort droid had arrived to lead him away from the ruins of the Cadir’s office and back to the Emryc’s office itself. Once the doors had been opened to receive him, Zak would pause, unclip both of his lightsabers and hand them to the droid, he saw no need in keeping the pair of them while here. Zak had come to discuss peaceful matters not to act was a warrior of the light, their symbolic meaning could be perceived otherwise in situations such as these.
Once he had disarmed himself, Zak would walk into the office and towards Emryc, a small warm smile was etched onto the Togruta’s features. The pair met near the edge of the President’s desk and Zak firmly grasped Emryc’s hand. “President Thorne,” He replied in a friendly tone. “I can’t help but feel a little underdressed for our meeting.” He continued with a small chuckle. When Emryc gestured to seat across from him to sit in, Zak nodded in thanks and took his place in the seat across from the man. “I do have a weakness for Corellian Whiskey, thank you President Thorne for both the drink and agreeing to meet with me.

Zak would drink in the aroma of the alcohol before taking the first sip, allowing the beverage to sit on his tongue for a moment, before swallowing. It had been so long since Zak had been able to enjoy a simple pleasure that he had almost forgotten what it felt like. However, Emryc’s voice would break Zak’s moment and bring him back to reality, a reality that was born from war, conflict, and strife. “I wish I could say I had requested our meeting just to see that you were in good health.” Zak replied. “I am glad to see that’s the case but to claim such would be a lie.” He continued. “But that can wait, for now I would like to offer our aid in reconstruction and aid on Corellia, if your people should need it.” Zak offered before taking another sip of his whiskey.
