| My name is Elena Aldatan, and my husband is an idiot. Don't get me wrong, I love him, and I love our children. But it is staggering, the amount of trouble Delun gets himself into. That may be why I married him, to be completely honest. He needed somebody to provide a stabilizing influence and to ensure that he eats on a regular basis. I also happen to love him, but that's incidental. My husband needs looking after. It's a side-affect of his brilliance. Did you know that he was instrumental in developing the first FTL drive for our people? He is definitely brilliant. And (and I hate to repeat myself) an idiot. A brilliant idiot who once tried to wager me in a game of cards. But that is all rather sentimental and you want to know about me. What can I tell you? I am an Ethereal, with all that entails. I have my doctorate in biology. I'm an excellent cook, and I have two of the most brilliant children in the world. I don't particularly care to talk about myself. There are far more interesting things to talk about, like my studies. Are you interested in molecular or cellular biology? What about epidemiology? No? Alright then, I shan't confuse you. Remind me again why you're here? What this interview was about? You want to talk about Delun? What do you want from my husband? I suggest you leave, now. Before I lose my temper. |
