With a little hesitation and sigh Koil moved closer to Keira. He thought she was going to work on the injuries on his upper body first and then move to his face but she chose his head first. He winced when she began at first but stayed as still as possible.
Her voice was nice. That helped a bit. "Plenty of Clans have been for awhile. Ow. Suppose us wearing helmets makes that assumption appropriate. Clan Solus has been more progressive in recent years. They were, ow, not so open minded...for a long time." With one of his eyes closed it was easier for him to pull forth his memories.
Days of him being ushered along by his family to avoid interacting with his clan mates were old. At the time Koil had not known why they had done that. He came up with reasons why it seemed to be a trend because nobody explained it to him. He was too weak to contend with the older and stronger kids. Maybe his family was disappointing in him and did not want to be embarrassed for making the mistake of adopting the kid of a con artist. There were others but they had all been wrong. Koil's family knew the rest of clan Solus would ostracize him if they knew he was not human back then. They had saved him from being targeted, given him a chance to build up his life on merit. Now keeping his helmet on was as much a part of him as the pale skin or the tattoos that inked his flesh.
When the senator told him she was finished he glanced over at her and then reached for a reflective pan. He wanted to see the work for himself. Blinking a few times the blood had been removed and he could see again. "Thanks." He said simply.
Looking down he saw a few pieces that remained. His body glove was slightly damp in a few places where he had bleed in small portions. The lightening injury had already been treated and the work Keira had done before the explosion still held. Keira was rather skilled at this medical thing. Screw it. Like he was plucking flowers he pulled the small remaining pieces of jagged metal. "ow" he said with each piece removed, like he barely even had the enthusiasm to feel pain at this point. The pieces were dropped on the table next to the same metal piece he had pulled out of the senator.
"How long did you plan on staying here?" It was a vague question, one that could be taken several different ways. Koil would be fine with any of the answers. He still wanted to know more about this outsider and the group she was with.
With all the pieces out he just grabbed some simple bandages, one even had bright pink Loth-cats on them and rainbows. They were probably meant for children who had non-serious injuries. But for now he stuck them to his chest and torso underneath his body glove. Small holes in his black under suit showed powder blue, bright pink and neon yellow from the bandages underneath. It probably was amusing because Archie snorted and shook his head before the rest of his body followed. Dust shook from his fur as he looked up at his owner. <"Don't give me that look"> He said in mando'a to the dire badger. He swore Archie had a smug expression on his face.
