  • Born on Dom-Bradden to a wealthy family, Efar'Eliz grew up relatively easily. Both of his parents were high ranking figures in the Nav'ir Republic, which while not giving them time to care for their son gave them the ability to hire someone to. The hired help ended up being a man by the name of Gal'Naz. He was a middle aged man, hardened by his years in the military and one of the top gladiators on Dom-Bradden at the time. Naz was an old friend of the family, so with the aid of money getting him to be a nanny wasn't entirely impossible.

Combat training started at the age of nine. It wasn't unheard of for Nav'ir to train children to fight at an early age, but that age was usually twelve rather than nine. It was a sudden choice by Naz soon after Eliz's ninth birthday, toughen the kid up early so he won't be complaining later. It worked, and by the age of eighteen his combat prowess was nearly at it's prime. For nine years Eliz practiced swordplay, gunplay, martial arts and practical things like slicing and stealth tactics. Upon completion of his training Naz gifted him his old set of armor as kind of a keepsake. Little did Naz know Eliz would be fighting for a different military force in the galaxy following his training. Sure Naz was like a second father to him, but he wanted to pursue his own goals.

At eighteen Eliz joined the Sacred Band of Ziost, mainly to see what all the talk was when it came to the group. He utilized his prior training when approaching service to the order, which helped him in getting in, but adopted traits taught to him by his peers while acting as a brother to better refine his skills. He quickly shifted from some kid straight out of training into a legitimate fighter over the span of three years.

While going on a personal supply run he bumped into a sith warrior, quite literally as both of them were walking. About to go off on the random robed man, he was stopped in seconds with intense pressure on his body halting his movement. It was then that the sith picked up on something off about the promising fighter.

Eliz had been force sensitive without realizing it. In the past the force had aided him in combat situations, with it all being subconscious usage until the truth was actually revealed to him. From there he was offered training in the force by the sith that found him, which he accepted almost immediately. Eliz was force sensitive? And had the option to learn how to use the force? He jumped at the chance.

As a kid he always thought the concept of the force was unique, a life energy found in most all things that some can command and bend to their own whims. He wanted to learn as much as he could while acting as a sith acolyte. He had a fondness for the physical aspects of the force, the devastating pushes and crushes that could be used in combination with hand to hand and melee combat. The sith obliged Eliz's interests, and trained him to use those specific techniques. While a major part of the training was put to telekinesis and body augmentation, that's not to say that the more advanced skills were left totally untouched. Pyrokinesis and basic mental manipulations were also potent parts of his mentor's form of training.

For seven years he trained under his sith master, learning the in's and out's of the force, the darkside and the sith. During that time his combative abilities as well as his intellect improved quite a bit. He could now command the force with ease.

Upon finishing his sith training he vanished from the empire. He got up and left. He wanted to see his family, his parents that he hadn't seen or talked to for nearly ten years. He wanted to explore the galaxy, see the stars, and have fun. The whole serving the sith order until death thing was a bit too stale for his liking. He struck off on his own, first going back home to Dom-Bradden. While there he was met with a less than stellar welcome... he failed to participate in the government mandated military draft when he turned twenty, and was soon on the run from both imperials and Nav'ir alike.

He found himself with nowhere to go and fully trained in military combat in addition to the force. Let's have some fun eh? For the next year Eliz took on the role of a pirate operating out of the outer rim. He became a mercenary, intel broker and slicer for hire using all of his prior skills to his advantage to make quick money with the Hutts, blackmarket trade and slavery among other things. It was all good fun for him, and once he heard of a pirates' guild by the name of Blackbird he played along with it. You can make more money with a group compared to just solo jobs, plus he wanted to see how exciting the experience could be.

  • Eliz is a simple man fueled by the urge to become stronger and his greed, his lust for entertainment by any means. He is incredibly independent and hates to be tied down to anyone or anything. When speaking he is rather up front and casual, keeping a tight lip when it comes to his secrets but open about most other matters. He rarely plays nice with others, and only tolerates people if something interests him.

He only ever does something as long as he doesn't find it boring, being one to go after what he wants no matter what may happen, and isn't the type to be "loyal" to a single group at any one time. Sure he was an imperial for ten years, but that meant nothing to him once he was finished with them. He acts similarly in social situations. He'll be social when he wants to be, and isolate himself when he wants to be alone. As for combat, there isn't much that he won't do to win. The ends justify the means, so if he has to shoot through someone to get to his intended target for example he would pull the trigger four times just to be sure he's dead.

He's a liar and a cheat, as you'd expect most all pirates to be, but he does infact have a softer side. He won't tolerate neglecting of another living thing, especially animals or children, likely due to his own experiences with absent parents. He isn't totally lacking empathy, and can grow to genuinely care for others. This caring takes the form of a heavily aggressive protective attitude if anyone or thing he cares for is harmed or abused in any way.

@Kuroshi looks pretty sweet but don't forget force sensitives can't have armor with functions.

And yes more pirates!!!

Whelp there seems to be a bit of confusion on the history of the SBZ, Empire and the ranks. The Sith Background doesnt quite fit as a result and I can't approve it as is. If you can't find SBZ info on the forum or archives to correct it then contact me on Skype and I'll help you out.

edit:
Your character joins the Sacred Band of Ziost aged 18 (eleven years ago).
Back then the SBZ was a ragtag group of fighters, ranging from murdering lunatics, former military, pirates, smugglers and generally the worst kind of scum in the galaxy. There was no ranking structure or designated 'officer role', you were either a brother or a sister and they listened because you were the biggest and baddest out there. This is before Kyuss Thaun, when membership in the SBZ was only rewarded after an intensely cruel selection and initiation (which included killing a Sith to show you were on par with them).

The Sith Inquisition did not yet exist, as it only came into existence and prominence six or seven years prior to the current time. You have your character train with a Templar master for seven years, which would not be possible.

At eighteen Eliz joined the Imperial Legion, then dubbed the Sacred Band, in order to serve the Sith Empire. For him, which side of the war he was on came down to interest level. He thought aligning with the sith would be nice, a raising empire with a decent fighting force as well as mysterious individuals that could use the force. He utilized his prior training when approaching service to the empire, but adopted traits taught to him by his peers and superiors while acting as a Legionnaire.

He quickly shifted from the rank of private to commander over the span of three years. Somewhere along the way the sith inquisition picked up on something off about the promising cadet. Eliz had been force sensitive without realizing it. In the past the force had aided him in combat situations, with it all being subconscious usage until the truth was actually revealed to him. From there he was offered training in the force by the templar that found him, which he accepted almost immediately. Eliz was force sensitive? And had the option to learn how to use the force? @Ecclessey Edited all instances of the inquisition and changed them to sith, as well as removing the mentions of rank and things like that. Let me know if I missed anything else in the biography.

Background has approval from Sith Leadership, but I'd like to state that we're not really fond of characters just handwaving having been Sith in their bio just so they can have an indie that's awesomely trained in the ways of the Force. Getting approval for these kinds of biographies might soon be something of the past.

If you'd want you could probably put him up on the bounty board, just to add a bit of danger coming from that aspect of his character. Given I get to thread with the right people I plan to actually expand on his reasons for leaving as well as what being a sith for 7 years changed in him.
