Location: Concord Dawn
Time: Mid-day
Participants: @Darasuum , @Critas
Theme: Always On The Run ❖ No Wyld

Koil heard from the local law enforcement on Concord Dawn that a criminal mandalorian had jumped bail. The target is some low end criminal that so far has been quite slick at avoiding capture. Knowing that Dio was in the are he figured he would see if his fellow Clan Mate wanted in on the actions since. Rumor has it that the man is around Shonruss, the capital of Concord Dawn. Since Koil is trying to get his Tattoo business setup there it would be best if he took the job to help cover beginning expenses.

Bounty hunting was a side gig that kept Koil busy between missions. The man did not rest and relax like the rest of his clan. When he partied he did it hard but most of the time he was professional. It kept him from thinking too much.

For now he sat in the upper story of his tattoo parlor. It was still being renovated and most of the equipment was brought in but his apartment was completely moved into at this point. There was no real time crunch on this job either so he sat at the kitchen table cleaning one of his many blaster pistols. Koil figured it would be better to meet here rather than at a cafe since people tended to notice two Field Marshals sporting Jaig Eyes, vambraces, clan and house Solus colors, one of which was an Al'verde. The stoic echani preferred to avoid attracting attention to himself especially before or during a job. The door was unlocked and windows were open. It was a pretty hot day on this part of the planet and hopefully it would get a little breezier later on or at least get some cloud coverage.

Diocletian had been home on leave when he got the word from Koil that he needed a little help with a bounty. Dio knew that his clan mate was working on getting some cash together to start a tattoo shop, so he didn’t mind putting the old armor to work helping a friend. He had changed course and landed on Concord Dawn in the spaceport of the capitol city Shonruss. He wasn’t sure what the deal was with this bounty or even who they were hunting yet. What he did know was that the dark ale in this bar was as close to heaven as he thought he might be able to get. It had taken a lot of his self-control to keep from drowning in its delicious caramel depths.

He had stopped drinking after about half a pint, not wanting to cloud his judgement or reactions before a mission. He did make note of the bar and its location to return to afterward and spend a day or two. The communicator beeped twice, letting him know it was time to head to rendezvous with Koil at his apartment. He paid for his drink, left a tip and then walked out. The bar was two blocks from Koil’s place, which Dio was sure was no accident. He was sure that Koil had probably frequented the place and had possibly even chosen that location due to its proximity to good brew.

When Dio stepped outside, he hit the heat of the day. It was unpleasantly hot for most but Dio was a fan of the hot weather. It was a Mandalorian world so it could have been raining hellfire and he would have been happy with being here. He moved quickly to the apartment, giving and receiving several nods from passersby as acknowledgement. That seemed to come with the territory when you wore House Solus colors and sported the full assortment of rank badges and insignia. The world might not know Dio from Adam, but they knew his armor and the marks of honor it bore. If the blast marks and melee scars hadn’t born witness to his battle experience, the Jaig Eyes and vambraces would certainly do the trick.

Upon reaching Koil’s place, he briefly considered crawling in a window but thought better of it and walked around to the front door. The door was open which made Dio hesitate for a moment. It was a Mandalorian world but Koil was famously secretive, so the open door seemed a little out of place. Dio’s hand hovered over his blaster on his hip as he entered slowly. The sight of Koil sitting at the table made him relax and deflate a little, the adrenalin subsiding in his bloodstream at the sight of him. “You always leave the door open vod?” asked Dio.

He smiled a little under his helmet and made an amused huff. "Only when I'm expecting company." He said in response. Normally he had a few locks set when he was home but that was a rare occurrence in of itself. Now that he thought about it, Dio was the first person he had invited over to his apartment, well at least one that he did not sleep with.

"Help yourself to anything in the fridge." He said as he finished up cleaning his weapon. There was probably only a handful of different perishables in the appliance which he had purchased in the past day or so. He had half a mind to go over and just stand in front of the refrigerator.

"The guy missed his court date, supposedly stole phrik seal for some noble house on some forgettable planet or something" The weapon slide together and its parts put into place with practiced ease. The mandalorian used a rag to make sure his hands were clean before stowing the weapon. "The client is a non-mandalorian institution so while he might be able to take the punishment and deal it out they won't pay for an injured bounty." He hoped that Dio was ready to use kiddy gloves on this thief.

Dio grinned under his own helmet at the amused huff from Koil. He took a moment to look around the apartment as he entered. It was as spartan in accommodation as he might expect from a still single Mandalorian. Koil could most likely count on one hand the number of nights he spent in the place in any given month. That was the nature of the life they led, it really didn’t lend itself well to home decorating and a social life. At the mention of the fridge, Dio wandered over and opened the door. He looked into its depths and winced. Picking up a jar of some sort of condiment he checked the date on it. It was over a year out of date. “Thanks Vod, I’m good.” He chuckled to himself as he closed the door and wandered over to the table to take a seat.

He listened to the beginning of the rundown on their target as he watched Koil with the weapon. The mechanics of cleaning the weapon helped Dio concentrate, the use of a repetitive motion, something he had done hundreds of times helped him focus. The news that their bounty needed to be unharmed was unwelcome but not unheard of. There were many such bounties out there these days. Dio had not usually entertained such bounties but this was not his show. He would help Koil all he could, including not harming the bounty to ensure maximum payout at the end. He flexed his hands in anticipation, looking at the armored gloves as he did so. It seemed a hands-on approach would be needed in this situation.

“What do we know about the mark? Anything? Do we have a location or a place to start?”

Standing up from the table he took the Chanit blaster pistol over to a walk in closet. Inside he unlocked a weapons locker and put the pistol in. At the base of the locked, just outside was his Dirk slug throwing pistol. He had used it during a training excersise on Concordia not too long ago with a few of his own warriors and other notable members like Leandros. It was a crude weapon but it had its uses. He would clean it later though and set it back down in the duffel bag.

From the closet he placed his shock boxing gloves back on his hands, making sure they had a full charge as he responded to Dio's inquiry. "Yeah, he had a storage warehouse. Local authorities are getting a warrant and will probably move on it soon. Chances are there might be something there that will lead us to him. Maybe its where he's laying low." He said though he doubted it. Then again there were dumber people in the galaxy.

After he finished making sure his wearable gear affixed he grabbed a Stun Scattergun for this job as his long arm weapon of choice. He swapped one of his thermal grenades for a smoke grenade as well. While he liked being prepared for a lethal threat he did not want to use maximum ordnance on his home turf.

Walking over to Archie, Koil patted the dire badger's head. It was a hot day and the mandalorian would make sure the apartment stayed cool enough for the tough creature despite it being able to deal with harsher habitats. He nuzzele Koil's hand and made a little huff, earning a smile from the Echani before heading towards the door. There was a Koil's custom SS-44 Bident parked out back. It was dark and black but thankfully it had climate control and would not be hot for long. The man had parked it in the shade so at least the seats and the seat belts would not feel like they were burning their skin off on the ride over. The satisfying thrum of the engines made the mandalorian smile.
