Yavin IV
Early Morning
The sun began to rise over the lush canopies that were Yavin IV. The air a sweet crisp scent as the dews washed over the never-ending forests tops. No noise, except the sound of birds and local fauna painting the soundscape, nothing more than nature. There was a forever peace that filled the scene, a peace that many a Jedi would relish as they took a breather. For some, this scene maybe the only scene they’ve seen and for others it could very well be their last scene as well. The future was ever in motion and no one could truly tell what would happen next for anyone. But this, this did not prevent the members of the Order from heeding the call. This was the galaxy currently and there was no likely conclusion in the near future. In a galaxy where power was being exchanged and invasions had begun, it was only a matter of time that all members of the Order would be touched by it; it was imperative to seize every moment as you had it because nothing is permanent.Early Morning
Though it had not touched this planet or this temple, Jedi Knight Ovinci could not remain in the sanctuary that was a Jedi Temple. Today would likely be he last day at the temple and as such maybe the last time he remained within the walls for some time. It was only natural.
Ovinci stood watch over the stretching greenery as far as he could see and beyond. He was not here on guard, no he just happened to wake up exceptionally earlier then the rest of the occupants of the Temple. He wanted to embrace the moment and breathe it in, holding on to this image as a method of comfort in for the future. To establish a reason to return, a drive to step away from all of this and make efforts to do something other than be a ornament at a Jedi Temple; Ovinci had been working as an unofficial temple guard for some time now (he was not a true temple guard, he’d just been keeping to the Temple grounds) and he was often told to do something more, always pushed to let go and step outside of the comfort zone; he knew he had to… he just didn’t want to.
Ovinci exhaled deeply as he committed the view to memory. I’ll enjoy this day once more before I walk away. The mirialan turned his gaze to the temple grounds. He knew that one of the things people kind of thought a Jedi Knight should do would take on an apprentice, a padawan learner to extend their knowledge to ensure that their knowledge will always live on even if it was not in the Knight themselves. This was a though that Ovinci had ignored, he hadn’t been a Knight very long and he didn’t really think he was best suited to become a teacher; even so, he would keep an eye out today – but he really didn’t expect to find one, nor was he really keen on accepting one. He needed to speak with others in the area, to get the lay of the land and see where he could be most useful. Besides, taking on an apprentice seemed to be something an aspiring Jedi Master would do – the idea of a Master was so far off from this young Knight who really didn’t know his own limits.
Recently, the Knight had pushed himself as he typically did. Practicing and sparring with his brothers and sisters in the Order. He had numbed the pain and fatigue he’s body was enduring by the time he had gotten to his 5th sparring match with the others. He always tried to squeeze every ounce of his potential out when he was out there, this had put such a strain on his body that he needed to be tended to by the healers and spend some time in recovery – he just never would learn. How could someone who’s so laxed with his own safety be responsible for someone else? He didn’t let this consume his thoughts though.
Jedi Knight Ovinci, a 30-year-old 6 foot tall Mirialan with an imposing physique and green skin; dressed in a simple beige robe, his lightsaber clipped to his hip; he displays it with pride and the azure accents quickly catch an admirer’s attention.
Ovinci hopped down from his perch, high atop the buildings that made up the perimeter of the temple grounds; landing on his feet as he collapsed into a crouch before standing back up. He looked around the area, he leant himself a smirk before he began to walk to perimeter first, if all was good there, he would bring himself into the grounds. This patrol would be necessary, despite their safety and peacefulness, on occasions the local fauna could wandered a little to close to the stockpiles or look for an unsuspecting individual for an easy snack; best way to start the day he mused.
