Okay this forum is just general discussion about DnD, tell us about characters you've made, campaigns you designed and monsters you've unleashed upon your friends. Since I'm starting this, I might as well tell you about a creature of mine, this is just general description no statistics or complicated things.

Apocalypse Bird
Throughout legend this magical beast has been called many names: the Bird of Ill Omen, Death's Parrot...but more commonly THE APOCALYPSE BIRD. A rare bird that takes the appearence of a crane with black and gray feathers and blood red eyes, an Apocalypse Bird only appears in the Material Plane when a war of epic proportions or if great evil is about to rear its head.

I can't seem to find MY concept Monster Manual (its still in description form) so I had to remeber the details of the bird. May our tales run free...

P.S.
Please no 3.5/4 edition arguments

damn...
I think you'd love it, I mean pillaging villages, kicking the shit out of gnomes...it seems your style.

Gnome/Halfling Tossing
Pick up the nearest unconscious halfling/gnome and throw them at a horde of Orcs. This game was invented during a rather unusual session fueled by coca cola and peppermints

So does anyone else have any stories or stuff to say

I read a lot of Forgotten Realms, but never played the actual game.

I believe he will tag you with a label: "Nerd"... But really he can't talk because he has a post count that is well over 9,000 on a star wars role playing forum.

No, you're actually wrong. I'm not going to brand her a nerd, and nor do I think she is one either.

If you get a good group of people, DnD can be incredibly fun. However, if you get a poor group together, it can be tedious and hellishly aggravating. I usually end up being DM, but whenever I get a chance to play as a PC, I go Dragonborn Warlord...

I actually dabble in a bit of Dark Heresy.

What didn't you like about it?
The setting wasn't too much to my liking, also, the system was very... different. Not enough dice... :CIsee:

I also played with meta-gaming twats, sadly. If I had played with some good RPers, I'm sure I'd have a lot better view. Sadly, the GM gave us a mission consisting of basically this: Bad guys here, you go kill them dead.

I'd much rather had been working for a fleshed out Inquisitor, sending us out to root out heretics, and perhaps unwittingly being used to increase the Inquisitor's power.

Just for future reference, forte basically means "strong suit," meaning that you weren't good at it. You probably meant "wasn't my cup of tea."

But yeah, I dunno...the setting I find, is pretty cool, but of course that is just my opinion. As for the dice, there is plenty, and the system seemed to be pretty similar, but I never played any regular D&D before, so I couldn't say for sure.

Maybe it's my GM who makes it exciting.

I play a Cleric who wields a hammer and a shield, who recently got his left arm cut off, and got a bionic one implanted, so now he's ambidextrous! I've dealt quite a few killing blows, and even dismembered a couple guys with my hammer; one lost his leg, and the other had his skull literally crushed.
