Dumb question

I want my character to be a force user (former Imperial Knight) but I'm looking to create a bounty hunter/criminal type faction that in Firefly like manner takes jobs for the Hutts in order to fund taking jobs for the Rebellion but I don't want it to be force user only. I'm really thinking teams in boats pulling capers that give them money and hurt the Sith, very much like Firefly.

Is something like that doable and within the rules?
