DESCRIPTION​

At first marketed by Cybot Galactica then replicated by various others via illegal or makeshift means, the Droid Concealed Blaster is an upgrade that's compatible with most droids, that integrates a blaster into their chassis into their chest, back, top section, or somewhere in/on their head. By Cybot Galactica, the primary use for these things is for droids to be able to defend themselves if needed.

Normally the blaster is retractable in the droid's chassis concealing it, or sometimes it sticks out and isn't really concealed. The blaster runs on a powerpack with a low ammunition capacity and needs to be reloaded while the weapon is exposed. When done this way, a droid that has no weapons or has been otherwise disarmed has a fallback weapon if needed, and can surprise their adversary.

In time, not-so-well-intended users have came up with more creative uses for these and learned how to make their own make-shift and illegal versions There was one story on the holonet where a mouse droid assassinated a politician with one of these.

This weapon upgrade comes in lethal and stun varieties, some can only use one or the other, but sometimes they have a setting between the two. The version by Cybot Galactica has lethal/stun options by default

One limitation is that the droid can not use use any other weapon(s) at the same time or in quick succession along with this., either built-in, hand-held or otherwise. Another is that any given droid can only have one added.

LEGALITY​

Legal with license. Ones made by makeshift means, obtained/installed via black market, or other shady providers are outright illegal in civilized jurisdictions.

INTENT​

To give a weapons upgrade that can be given to droids that have no manipulator arms or built-in weapons that would otherwise not have any available to them and this upgrade can give a stealth option to any given droid.
