DESCRIPTION
The Drake Mining Drone was created to give an alternative to manual mining to small and large mining operations. The Drake is mostly beneficial to larger mining ships that are able to remove the minerals that they mine with their larger tractor beams. The Drake does have its own tractor beam for hauling but the process of such mining can be very slow and tedious. The Drake can be outfitted with an armament for warfare, however this would involve a major overhaul including major hardware and software changes, making it more difficult than purchasing an actual War Drone.
Also, the Drone may be piloted either in person within the Drone or by remote control via mother ship. Most who use this model prefer the later for the life support within the Drone is far too short to be profitable.
The range of the Drone is fairly limited when not piloted. Remote control range is 800m-1000m. Maximum fully fictional range is 800m and 25% less productive for every 50m past that. If the Drone reaches 1000m or more, it has an auto-return to mother ship function enabled.
