Griff stepped into the simulation pod and donned his helmet. He flipped the power switch and flipped on all toggles before closing the hatch and closed his eyes. Griff found himself in the middle of an arctic base outside of an outpost. He grabbed his rifle from his back and took the sling off his shoulder and checked his ammunition; his rifle was full of ammunition and he had two additional clips in his pouch on his right arm, both were full as well. He checked the zero on his scope and checked the time, one minute had passed and only thirty seconds until his reinforcements show up; it was time for him to secure the area. Griff set his rifle on safety and began scanning his motion detector for any signs of movement; finally, four dots appeared on the screen and grew larger until a loud crash was heard. Griff looked over to the wall of snow that was pushed up from the ground and saw four soldiers slowing moving toward him.

"So you're the new guy huh?"
"Look at his equipment, it's even new in the simulator."
"Well Marine, you'll find that the Army works almost as hard as you do."
"The Few and the Proud, couldn't even come to a simulation with you?"

"Nice to know you are all happy to be here for a Mandatory fun day. I feel the same way. We are just waiting on one of your men to enter the simulator. Our objective is to infiltrate the base and search for any intel that can be used. The main faction guarding the outpost is the Alliance Army, the map is loaded into your hud. When our other man gets here, we'll split up into two groups and search the base. There is an unknown number of guards and no time limit. Mission will start whenever the last man gets here."

Voran sighed, mandatory training. He needed no training, but orders were orders. The Chiss sat inside the simulator and relaxed, selecting the scenario, he was told to select. Immediately he was entered into the field, one of ice that rivaled Hoth. No timer on HUD so that was a plus, objective was infiltration. Voran swiped some of the snow of his armor and looked at his Map, friendlies were nearby by they would just slow him down. Instead he commed them "Let's go" he said, coldly. As he maneuvered through the thick snow, keeping low and on the lookout for enemies. He held his rifle in his hand, preparing to shoot anything that moved.

Griff looked as the last soldier appeared out of nowhere and started running. Assuming that he was the one they were waiting for, Griff began following him. Even though the Marines were hardcore, they didn't conduct any mission without a quick plan, maybe the Army lived so long was because they fought without hesitation. The Marines, the few and the proud, had no hesitation but for some reason was not up to speed like the soldiers he was serving with. He saw that the army was following the Legionnaire. Their current position wasn't marked on the map,

Maybe because it's a simulator, he thought and began talking, "I guess I'll stick with you."

Roann stood in an observation tower outside of the simulator. He casually smiled, unbeknownst to the men below, he had taken control of the simulator and was now 'playing' the Alliance side. His men down there, six of them, they needed to be at least good enough to take down thrice their own amount. Thus, 18 simulation Alliance Soldiers had been set up as the opponents. They had no vehicles, though each carried a standard issue Alliance M15 MDEWS Blaster Rifle.

They were stationed in various places along the map. Three stood inside the low base at point 1 as well as three in the high base of point 2. Three men were stationed at each Alliance base battery, making a total of twelve men already placed on Roann's chessboard. Thinking, he placed the remaining six inside the Ice base, where the top secret Alliance 'intel' was stashed. Nodding, he started the Simulator, but did not inform the men of his presence. They would do well enough without knowing who was on the other side of the glass.

Voran sighed, he wanted them to stay away, but whatever. The Chiss hit the ground, hiding in the snow, when he spotted the first base and three men standing near the battery. He marked them on the map so that the rest knew what to expect and where to expect it. Voran pulled his rifle up steadying it on the snow using it's stand and looked through the scope. He could probably take out two with no reaction but three was pushing his abilities. He commed the human tag along and told him quickly but quietly "Take out the one on the right, now" as soon as Voran finished speaking, he fired two accurate shots at the standing guards, hoping the human would take out the third.

As he stopped running, he heard the team leader bark an order, "Take out the one on the right," and didn't have time to catch his breath as he raised his rifle. Click, click, the team leader's rifle sounded; click, click, click, Griff unloaded three rounds into the last guard's chest. Griff started to catch his breath and was surprised that all three rounds hit accurately since his hands were shaking, but quickly disregarded it and thanked his training. He got ready to move again, crouched a foot away from the Army Legionnaire, and readied his rifle while scanning the area for targets.

Immediately, the soldier loitering outside the lower base noticed his comrades go down. He signaled to the other men inside the base and they, naturally, emerged. Cover fire immediately was laid down upon the Chiss strike team. Although they were not live fire rounds, a successful 'hit' would cause a painful sensation and an immediate 'disqualification.'

Through the snow, it would've been impossible to see the barely visible man that had been by the lower base. A mistake had been made, but an unavoidable one it was as well. The Chiss would now have to demonstrate their ability to cooperate under fire. The other men spread across the base took up defensive and alert positions, however, they did not aid their comrades currently engaged.

Griff and his team took cover when he heard the first shot, he found a rock large enough to cover his chest and duck down to avoid being shot. Griff looked over the rock to find where the shots were coming from and had no results. This was when Griff made the decision for a front wingset, a defensive move where one team would flank the rear while providing suppression fire; three soldiers wouldn't be exactly textbook, but then again it would work. Griff looked over at his team and began explaining their plan.

"We're going to do a front wingset! We're going to empty our clips into that direction while moving to their flank! One by one we're going to suppress, reload, let the next guy empty his gun. Check your map, our position when we finish is going to be Number 4! Everyone check your weapons quickly while I tell the other team."

Griff stuck his head out from cover and scanned again, rounds flew by his head, he still wasn't able to find the shooter.

"Voran! We're doing moving to objective 4! Cover us!"

Griff emptied his clip and fired into the direction where the rounds were coming from, his team ran and took turns laying down suppressive fire; hopefully making the enemy team keep their heads down.
