Doorna Keye, this one is named. Who chose such a name, this one never knew, never asked. Names are of little consequence, once you realize the truth of existance. But that is a point for another time, for another era altogether, mayhaps. Maybe its a point that will never be discussed, or simply cast asside in the annals of time for the sake of egomaniac attittude that is so deeply rooted into every being almost as much as Mother, or as it is commonely known, the Force. And yet, it is the phonetic enounciation that makes this one turn his attention to whoever desires this one's attention. It is the conditioning all beings accept as natural.

This one believed to have been born in Coruscant; he learned this to be false. While this one grew within the halls of the Jedi Temple in Coruscant, in a time of peace and prosperity, even as a pupa, this one was born in a herdship. At the time of the birth, a passing-by Jedi felt the Mother's love coursing through this one, and he was offered to take the pupa to Coruscant on his way back for there were no lack of candidates for the roles of priest in the herdships. The Jedi saw no problem with this; it was a recurring thing to bring Force Sensitives onto the Temple to undergo training. And so this one's first memories are laced with the walls and halls of the temple, with kind yet stern handlers, or hardened but just knights, and most of all, his clan, children of all sorts of species. This one, while showing promise within the realms of manipulation of the Force, never showed promise elsewhere, for his species lacks the enthusiasm others show so early. Despite this, his curiosity and mental flexibility always earned him a kind or approving comment from his handlers and teachers.

Even still, when the time came, he had not excelled as much as to draw the attention of a master. As the days passed, he spent most of his time in the library, educating oneself in the infinite mysteries it held. Around the time of his fifteenth year within the temple, he was offered an official role as the keeper of records within the temple, since he had taken so much time learning of the archives. Working with other Lore Keepers, this one became part of the furniture of the very libraries, knowing where each section was, where each piece of information was, and readily helping every soul that crossed him in search of assistance.

It was half a lifetime ago that this one learned the full extent of his origins; not about his progenitors, but of the origins of his species. He felt almost saddened when he learned the world that had birthed his species had been destroyed in one of the last galactic conflicts. Even though this one never lived there, nor did he know it had ever existed before, now he felt almost hurt at the thought of an entire planet being wiped off the universe for the sake of military strategy. And how ironic, too, that the affected species would be one of the most peaceful ever; there had never been anything wrong with him, no apathy, or lack of interest, merely a genetic predisposition toward peace. Uncovering these truthes, along with the fluttering rumors of the end of peace and prosperity, brought about unease mixed with peace. It was almost as if the sequence of events was trying to tell him something.

Nonetheless, this one was happy to know more about his past. He didn't let it interfere with the teaching of the Jedi, but it was futile, for he could almost feel that the knowledge washed over him and mended the faults that made him feel apathetic for so long that he never even stirred outside the walls of the library unless he was asked to or had to in order to fix registries. He could almost feel alive, as he had never felt.

The years advanced. Restlessness grew, and he began taking more seriously his meditations as a means of growing and no longer just centering himself. This one did not wish to fall for doubt, for that lead to fear, and fear was not an option. But the truth was that as the conflicts began to spread like a fire through the galaxy, he began to feel more and more distant from Mother, which he now called the Force as his ancestors had called the deity of their lush planet. He needed far more contact with the outside world, and so he took his chance to dwell in florested areas whenever he had them. It was during such a walk, in another world, during a peaceful and dull quest to rectify the accounts on edible and medicinal herbs (there had been a mix up of sorts and they presented contradicting properties), that he felt it. A disturbance. Faint, at first. Blood curdling, as the evening unfolded. He reported to the ship that was to take him to the Temple of Coruscant to learn it had been destroyed. Travelling to Tythos, he learned that his great source of knowledge had been, as with previous decades, been destroyed, all but the Great Jedi Holocron. Practically "jobless", this one travelled between the last remainding temples in order to ensure that the knowledge was compiled in order not to be lost, but through his meditations, he became increasingly restless. Something was amiss.

And one day, he realized why he felt Mother so far away. One day, he woke up and realized it was not behind the holocrons he belonged. It was out there.

Mother wasn't moving away from him to confuse him and turn him. It was just showing him where he should be.

Mother was calling.

This one must answer the Mother's calling.

NAME: Doorna Keye
FACTION: New Jedi Order
RANK: Jedi Archivist
SPECIES: Ithorian
AGE: 42 Standard Galactic Years
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: 6' [Six feet]
WEIGHT: 264lb [Two hundred and sixty-four pounds]
EYES: All around black.
HAIR: What's that?
SKIN: Grassy green all around.
CREDITS: Who needs that?
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: None that he can think of.
FORCE SENSITIVE: Why yes.

STRENGTH: Strong, but ultimately unwilling to apply it for the purpose of violence.
DEXTERITY: Due to Ithorian's slugish nature, he is not very agile at all unless he draws on the Force.
CONSTITUTION: Healthy as they come, maybe a bit more with his Jedi training, though he lacks stamina and endurance for intensive physical effort.
INTELLIGENCE: Not the sharpest tack in the box, but enough to survive.
WISDOM: Given his deep love for phylosophy, he has acquired what he sees as a great deal of wisdom.
CHARISMA: Due to his excessive politeness, he can sometimes be seen as obnoxious and outright irritating, being in the end a double edged blade.

FORCE POWERS:
Never having a master to teach him past his Initiate phase as a Padawan, he has only learned a few basics as an Initiate, and though he never quite forgot them, his work as a records keeper hasn't allowed him to develope them much if at all. In addition, most of them require actual effort and/or meditation to be minimally effective.
  • Tutamis -- All but forgotten as he never really practiced any kind of energy absortion; still able to draw in Force though.
  • Curato Salva -- Basic healing taught to all innitiates, he never got past healing bruises and small superficial cuts, requiring an actual meditation session to be able to fully heal himself even with these, and only practitioned as a means of not forgetting it and improving, thought the latter as never been truly achieved due to lack of real need.
  • Altos Sopor -- The ability to increase one's focus on the Force; higher attunance allows him to blend into the Force so as to become almost invisible to the less skilled in sensing.
  • Center of Being -- Stance used in lightsaber combat and meditation alike, used for more passive and defensive forms of combat. Allows one to defend from the most flowing and random attacks and feints.
  • Force Speed -- The ability to enhance one's speed momentarily; for this one, it means small bursts here and there, and with some intervail between so as to not exhaust his muscles too fast.
  • Telekinesis -- Begginer, has been taught basics, but will only use it to reach for items if necessary, otherwise finding ways towards what he needs physically and leaving TK out as an easy option.

SKILLS:
Melee Combat (Blunt/Bladed/Lightsaber): Basic user; could be adept at it, if only for the (thankful) few times he ever had to actually use it.
Hand-to-hand: Basic degree of self-defense instruction, but as with Form I, little chance of ever putting them into practice.
Piloting: If the pilot is dead, he can land the ship.
Well of knowledge: From the multitude of languages he knows, to galactic geography and history, passing through psychology and species behavior, his knowledge makes him quite handy, if quite boring.

LIGHTSABER/SWORD FORMS:
As an Archivist, he has knowledge of all forms; however, he ever only knew the basics for Form I, taught to all initiates, and the other form he ever researched about was Form III, Soresu.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+Patience: Like durasteel, he can endure situations with calm whereas others might have their nerves surfacing through their skin. It can almost be seen as apathy, but there's nothing of apathic about him; even if his body appears calm, his mind can race frantically.
+Physique: Although he needs to tap into the Force to speed up his body, he is still strong and hardy even if he doesn't get to show it off at all, preferring to be at his most peaceful whenever possible. Irritatingly so, even in combat he might not apply them unless actually necessary.
+Information intake: A long time of accessing a multitude of informational topics as allowed him to train his mind to the point where he no longer categorizes knowledge in general outside of his libraries shelves. On the general, he will interconnect every bit of information he has to assist him in whatever situation he finds himself, being able to analyze, break down and connect dots to resolve whatever situation he finds himself in.
+Pacifist: In a galaxy at war, a pacifist mindset might not be a strength; but then, you'd have to be an Ithorian to understand it. Or a Jedi. Either or.

-Pacifist: Well, if you're not a Jedi or an Ithorian, you'll see this as a weakness. So.
-Physique: As stated before, even if he is strong he isn't willing to use it, let alone to his benifit. More than that, his regular reflexes and speed are bellow the average of most humanoids, making him a rather easy target. Another womp-rat back home.
-The Light Side of the Moon: A need to believe in the overall existance of Good within all conscious beings, this naive side of the Ithorian can be (and has been) a severe fault here and there.
-Tech Savvy... not: From hacking to slicing to blasters and explosives and onto more complex vehicles and all, having the knowledge isn't enough to effectively use, fight or counter them. This is a field in which he is as useful as a nerf herder.

GEAR:
Datapad: useful to access and/or store information at any given time, mostly for personal use, though sometimes he will download an article or another from the Archives in order to entretain himself in long flights. Nothing important in case it gets "lost".
Lightsaber: Simple design, but sturdy. Possesses a green pontite focusing crystal, which absorbs heat around it making it seem as though it cools the skin as it gets closer.

SHIP:
Whenever he needs to move around the galaxy, he will either use a Jedi's ship or, in case he wishes to travel incognito, request the necessary funds to contract a captain to take him and/or escort him where he needs.

DROIDS:
No need for one.

PETS:
All life forms are to be free. No pets.

KILLS:
No, no killing, no killing, peace and love.

BOUNTIES COLLECTED:
None.

DUELING RING MATCHES:
No matches.

GRAND TOURNAMENT MATCHES:
Nope.

ROLE-PLAYS:
Jedi Padawan:

Finished; any inconsistencies, let me know and I'll fix 'em. :D

Also, any chance of getting a Master to train this one as a Padawan, or should I go through 'official' routes and request a meeting with the Council in order to be assigned one? :0

CONSTITUTION: Healthy as a cucumber,

Reading that part I got a little confused, thinking, how healthy is a cucumber exactly? lol

Anyhow I have to admit I love the character concept that you went with. I really do, he certainly stands out among all the lightsaber totting [Corellian] Jedi in a good way.

Now as for your question. This link should be your next destination. Sign him up first, and then post a thread and see if any masters are available. Though you should know that you don't need a master to advance. Self training, training with other padawans and just doing stuff without a master being involved goes a long way too.

Hahaha, touché. I did rethink a lot of those kind of remarks. Guess I overlooked that one. And if it sounds confusing, in my defense, there's a similar expression in my native tongue, I may have confused myself and switched them around. My bad.

Thank you! I wanted to try something different for once, though I can't say what kind of path he will eventually undertake in the end. I think I'm biting more than I'm able to chew, really, but it's worth a try. For all it's worth, I have good intentions.

...hm, thank you for that particular advice; I think I might just do that. A freelancing sloth with no real skill. Let's see how that goes. :0

Where are you from anyway? I'm not English either so I'm a little curious. It's not too bad as cucmbers are actually good for you, and make awesome salads! So yeah, and he's green sooo. xP

Well the concept itself is quite unique as the majority of people, when creating a Jedi character, go for the human guardian archetype so seeing a Consular who isn't very talented at fighting certainly stands out. And I would know, having the baddest Guardian around...

On that note I think he can have a very bright future actually, as long as you figure out a role for him down the road. He can be a healer, or a sage? There are plenty of characters around who are very well respected and playing those roles. Ashara Vashee, Jhon Cordatus, Teynara Jeralyr and a few others. Those three in particular aren't fighting [lightsaber] centered characters at all so that shows that your guy can survive too.

And just to add this one, I'd love the chance to actually have Guhoo and Doorna meet sometime. Talk philosophy, adventures, current state of the galaxy and what not.

Hahahaha! Probably with "Healthy as a cucumber" went along so well. I hail from Portugal, the lusitanian forgotten kingdom. "Tough as a cucumber" would be a more accurate translation from the expression we have here (I showed it to my brother and he laughed his ass off that I actually put it there... so yeah...)

Taking into consideration his current position, per say, I think the path of a Sage would be natural, not for the Healing part but more within the realms of diplomacy and history and lore. Healing could come along the way and it could be something he'd take interest in as well down along the road. Can see that happening.

My initial thought was having him practice some lightsaber combat, since he is beyond rusted. A meet with a Battle Master and a relaxing deep conversation would be just the thing for this character. ^^

Will do, will do. I'll see if I can get a few off the ground for now, and mayhaps a training thread. Though I still want him to meet Guhoo at one point or another. I'll hold you to that one. xD
