Difficulties finding a start.

So I'm attempting to find a place to jump off and several of the people on this board have been wonderfully helpful and very kind to me in my ignorance of this timeline; that being said, I've read over the history twice and I still feel lost-- I don't want to necessarily be thrown into the war right now because that'd cheapen any build up for this character. I feel there's obviously quite a bit I don't know and that's very discouraging to me as a Role Player. I stupidly made a Zabrak and found later that Iridonia is presently under Sith Rule-- I don't any planet under Sith Rule is going to really allow for economic expansion or niche carving if they're grinding the war machine hard, so I can I either join an army or join a crime faction? I don't really know what do here, so if anyone has any tips or anything I'd be very grateful.

If you're worried about how your Zabrak can be non-Sith despite Iridonia being under Sith control, it is easy to say he was taken off world at a young age or that he had been smuggled off work. Basically, writing out any situation you can imagine is pretty much allowed.

However, if you're trying to find a place to fit in within the Galaxy as a character, that is MUCH easier than you'd think. If you hadn't found out already, this current Timeline is coming to an end quite quickly. Finding a place doesn't necessarily mean dealing with War, but you can do pretty much anything, including things not related to the War. There are plenty of Non-War threads and Story Arcs to be involved in. There are Missions/Training, and even duels/Sparring that your Character can be involved with within the Faction you choose.

If all else fails, I'm certain there are story Arcs that others create that you can get involved with if you just ask someone. Even better yet, you can create your own story Arc if you feel comfortable enough doing so! Private messaging and Visitor Messaging goes a LONG WAY on here, and you already know how helpful and friendly we can be here.

With the Timeline ending here soon enough, it isn't a bad idea for you to experiment with character ideas that you can use in the next timeline. Obviously, in such a short period of time until the next timeline goes up, you can only get so much done, so experimenting is one of the best things you can do, especially since you can make and use 6 different characters in any faction you please in this timeline!

I remember that my first 3 characters on here never ended up capturing my attentions so much, but when I came across my fourth character, I didn't realize how much fun I'd have playing a Sith character! Hopefully, you can knock a few character ideas off the list, and have your favorite Character already found out by the next timeline! I'd say to get involved with as much as you can, to get a feel for how the site runs and operates while you can!

In regards to birthplace, there's always the fact that there's billions if not trillions of Zabrak's out in the galaxy. Yours doesn't necessarily have to have been born on Iridonia.

That being said, if you're looking to quickly introduce your character to the galaxy, I highly recommend starting an Open RP in the Story board. It's a good way to get started here, and for your character to meet others.
