Ledo could sense his student's line of logic, following it like a known signal of frequency; seeing where it would be before it was, because of the knowledge of the outcome... death. One way or the other. He could see through his apprentice's connection from his Master like a tunnel in umbilical unison. Though, from his perspective, controllable.

His pupil would not know of his Master's watching eyes, only to know that Ledo would know or find out what transpires by each moment. And so he would continue to understand his 'child's' processing of information in a very adept and intuitive manner.

.

The slight of crazed whispers halted.

Vulsuav, 'The Giant', twitched out of awareness in his usual grueling attempts to keep his darkness at bay. The floppy-eared, furred humanoid species, replaced his hands beside his legs in levitation; the smaller than average creature reached for the earth with his fingertips, fearing the worst. His tears held still for the moment, as he knew he was no longer alone. A signature of that which he truly feared would replace his own, had joined the masses of life among the planet's surface. He knew not why anyone would be interested in Felucia as he was, but they were close. It was within conclusion that they were here for him, and so Vulsuav stood to his full height of a single meter.

He began mumbling to himself, cringing some moments and distorting others; as he twisted in and out of the darkness. In solitude, he had by no means felt separated from what he left behind; but rather gave that much more attention to it. He had fallen, yet to only utilize the good with lies of what was real to the little ex-Jedi Knight. Deep down he knew it was there, but he shivered to feel only the light. In fear, he dripped down further. He had placed his evil self on a pedistal. One he could never hope to reach.

Yet this intruder had succeeded in more than simply locating and interrupting his trance of denial, but had as well brought the male Bimm out into the world again. He could feel his senses again, as he focused on something other than himself; and in this awakening, his outputting signature raised to the great heights it once held. He was, however, a bit rusty. This may prove to be his most immediate threat, but he feared others...

Jev moved towards the clearing with as much stealth as was possible in the jungle. Keeping not only his presence in the Force hidden, he tried to disturb the jungle as little as he could. This ex-Jedi had been on this planet for some time and ought to have become accustomed to the planet and any disturbance would alert him to his presence. There was great chance that the Bimm already knew that Jev was here, though Jev was confident he could not sense his location directly through the Force. But the disturbance his presence caused in the forest was another matter altogether, the way the plants and animals responded to his presence was a straight giveaway of his location. That thought made Jev suddenly aware of a way he could use that to his advantage.

Sitting down he began observing the forest around him, the disturbances his presence had caused were starting to starting to dampen as the plants and animals around him began getting used to his presence. Opening himself slightly to the Force he reached out to the life in his immediate environment and began getting accustomed to it, taking in the calm flowing through them as the natural flow of events went on through the forest, and the changes his presence caused. Finally confident that he had gathered what was needed he stood up and began walking again, but this time not towards the clearing but at a constant distance from it in an almost circular path. As he moved the forest changed around him, his feet brushed against leafs, stepping down he pressed on the roots of a tree, he even blocked the path of some small animals who dodged around him squealing loudly which in turn caused some birds to respond with chirps and caws. But this time Jev was noticing this not only through his physical senses but through the Force as well and through the Force he began making subtle changes to the Forest around him. Reaching out he touched the beings around him and projected into their minds the image of the still and calm forest he had just picked up. Slowly he managed to seemingly hide his presence from the forest around him and as he walked on the disturbances ceased. Smiling sightly he walked on for another ten minutes or so, spiraling in towards the clearing. When he finally reached the clearing, from a direction altogether different from his initial one, he did not step out into it but crouched low and moving in the shadows hid in a place from where he cold see his query. And then he could see him clearly, the little Bimm, not more than a meter tall, standing a little off the center of the clearing, closer to him and looking in the direction where Jev had managed to hide his presence from the forest. He had obviously sensed Jev on the planet but as Jev had concealed himself in the Force, his conclusion that he must be using the disturbance in the forest to sense him was indeed proving to be true.

Having reached this far he began executing the next part of his plan. Reaching out through the Force he reached out to the spot where he had originally hidden his presence from the forest. Glad that the distance wasn't so great that the strain of keeping himself hidden and performing this task would become too much for him, he began projecting a disturbance into the forest there and slowly began moving the disturbance towards the clearing. Throughout this process he had kept his sense of position and to the Bimm it would seem as if he had been waiting at that location all this time and was now again approaching him. The Bimm looked on towards the forest waiting for the disturbance to reach the clearing. As the disturbance reached the edge of the clearing Jev let it vanish and now free of that activity telekinetically picked up a decent sized piece of rock lying in the clearing and threw it straight at the Bimm. Simultaneously, as the rock flew in towards the Bimm from a direction diametrically opposite to Jev's location, he himself jumped out into the clearing and igniting his lightsabers took two steps forward and jumped towards the Bimm with his two blades coming down in diagonal slashes to strike the little felow's back, aiming to finish this confrontation in one strike.

"NO!!!" Thinking to rupture a blast disrupting of the disturbance before him, the Bimm blasted an overextending repulse in powerful circumference of measuring to his nickname of 'The Giant'. Having thought the infiltrator lost, then thinking it before him, Vulsuav had lost himself in a charged emotion that had no direction.

Ignorantly deflecting the piece of rock as well as the aggressor, Vulsuav spun around to surprise. Igniting his green lightsaber. He yelled with vocal scratching's anger. "You've come to taint me! The Council doubts my redemption?!?"

Vulsuav sprang over the now revealed evil, with a swirling of vertical slashed in spinning ferocity; the blurring green would slice before his body in both carving offense and protecting defense. "AAAAHH!!!"

Jev ducked and rolled ahead, holding his lightsabers up above him to parry any attacks against his back. Jumping to his feet he turned around to face the Bimm. The Force oush had been strong, stronger than he could have anticipated from the little Jedi, ex-Jedi to be precise. But the attack told him something more, this Vulsuav was even more scared of himself than Jev had thought. His emotions were all over the place and in his fear he had released a power that he could not or would not normally use, the power of the dark. He let the darkness flow through him and began radiating it like a lamp in a dark room, only this time he was sucking out the light. As he submerged himself into the darkness he put done his lightsabers, his prey feared something even more than that and Jev would use that to his advantage. "Knot Vulsuav, you have failed. The Order had high hopes for you, even if you did not know it. You could have been much more," As Vulsuav looked on in some confusion Jev started to play on his fears, "if only you had accepted the darkness within you, used it to take hold of the power that was placed in your palms. Instead you let it slip it out through your fingers. The Jedi do not fear for your redemption, they fear that you may not reach your true strength, never fully realize yourself." What he said till now was indeed true as the Jedi would undoubtedly think that by touching the dark side Vulsuav was straying from the path of becoming a strong Jedi. But adding his own words Jev was spinning that in a different direction with the right words and suggestions about power and the strength of the dark side. "They did not send me to taint you, I have intention of doing that. My task here is much more important." Truth once more, as the Jedi had not sent him at all, but he would let the Jedi think what he wanted to think.

"Tell me, do you fear the Dark?"

"What?!?" Vulsuav bounced to a stand behind the intruder, though they now stood face to face. "How do you know my...?" His question was cut as he tried to inturrupt the foul being, yet it kept going; it kept digging into those wounds, those cuts that could never seal shut.

They did not send you? Knot thought to himself, wondering who else would know of his presence here and why. He didn't understand. He thought himself a failure, even knew from convincing himself over and over that the Council thought him a failure. "I..." He hesitated. No. This thing must be the Council's doing. "I..."

Standing there, he looked as if he were going to literally burst out of his flesh. The nervous and scared ex-Jedi shook with sweat, dangling off his face; his fist squeezing the parts out of the hilt. "The D-Dark... I..." He couldn't answer. His jaw shivered in quivering silence, until he broke back into defensive anger. "W-Who are you!?!" Stumbling back in overuse of his lungs, he had been holding his breath in thought to now inflate his small chest cavity and deflate it rapidly. His hand lifted his saber up to ear level, ready to reengage.

"I am something you will never be, something you are even scared of dreaming about. I am the hidden truth within your heart, the true meaning of your existence, I am death, I am the harbinger, I am Darkness." Jev began slowly walking in a circle, keeping the distance between himself and Knot fixed. Falling even deeper into the Force and grasping it with his own darkness he began the most vital part of his deception. Voice dripping with the Force he contained, "The Council did not send me, atleast not directly. It was a much wiser and greater Jedi Master who sent me here. You had the chance to embrace your truth, embrace the dark. The Order needs that, darkness in the shadows, someone to do their dirty work. You had the chance to become such a tool. But you failed, a cowardly fool that you are." He could see that his words were having the desired effect. Every word he had said was true, from one point of view. The Order had indeed not sent him, but they were responsible for Ledo leaving the Order and so they were indirectly responsible for Jev being here today. And Ledo had indeed been a Jedi Master at a time, and as far as Jev was concerned he was the greatest there was was. So the little ex-Jedi would sense that all his words were indeed true. The Force did not lie, but there was always more than one way to look at the truth. He wanted the fool to begin questioning the Jedi, question everything they had taught him, question himself.

"Tell me, did you really believe that the Jedi Order is as pure and untainted as they make everyone believe? You came all this way in belief of that sacred truth you so believed in, but that truth is nothing but a lie. Darkness is everywhere, even amongst the Jedi. But you know this now, you know that you can't defeat the darkness within you. Search your feelings, you this to be the truth. You can no longer be a Jedi dancing around in the Light, you are forever tainted with the darkness. And now that you have thrown away your one chance to be something more you can no longer be the weapon your Masters wanted to be. I was sent here to see to that. But the question is what will you do now? Embrace your darkness? Say hidden here forever? Light, Dark, which will it be? Will you finally make the right choice? Or will you stick with the Jedi ideals you know now to be false? Do something stupid like kill yourself to save the Galaxy from your darkness? What will it be?" Jev waited for the Bimm to respond. He had played games with Knot's beliefs, tried to sway him from the Jedi path, even offered suicide to him as an option. The first few blows had been landed, now the question was whether he would have to strike the killing blow himself or would the fool loose himself in the maze Jev had wound around him.

Vulsuav twitched and stuttered all through the dark one's speech, questioning every bit of himself and the intruder alike. Shivering the beaded sweat to drip down his face, he just about held out his own lightsaber hilt to his own chest... but, he couldn't. This just couldn't be! "N-no... I don't t-trust this! You try and end me even with your very words!"

The Bimm couldn't handle it. He just couldn't handle being wrong, becoming everything his broken mind fought against all these years. He didn't trust the dark. He didn't trust this intruder of evil. He didn't trust himself. All he had was that ideal that he threw his life away for... He would not give into it now, after all this time. Of course, he had already lost himself in the very fight against its taint.

"You'll not have my soul!! You'll not have ME!!!" The Bimm screamed into an angled double dash: left then in at the intruder. From the second dash, Vulsuav spun a left to right slash that tornado'd his body into the air - a rotating arch over his opponent that changed the axis on which his lightsaber spun every degree; his lightsaber would come around horizontally one instant and vertically the next. Having back flipped forwards, the saber beam lead his body as well as spontaneously flared a bashing furry of dozens of slashes along his arch from one corner over the darksider to the next.

Jev responded almost immediately to Knot's attack, he had been expecting the attack for some time now. They always cracked in the end, these slaves of the light side. Never able to muster the courage to just end their own worthless existence, never making it easy on themselves. So it was upto Jev to end it for him, and end it he would. The Bimm was going to die today, and one way or another it would be Jev who would bring about this end. As the Bimm came swirling in Jev ducked down to decrease his surface area and while he was in the process of ducking began spinning like a top, using the force to increase the frequency of his rotations. His arms were crossed around his chest, left hand resting below his right armpit and right hand adjacent to his left shoulder. With the blade near his left shoulder pointing upwards and the other pointing down, he created a blazing defense around him which deflected the seemingly random strikes from the little Bimm's lightsaber. But as the Bimm passed ahead of him one strike slipped in through his defenses and made a grazing strike against the left side of his torso. With the immediate threat passed, Jev crouched low on the ground and felt his wound with his right hand. The wound wans't particularly deep and had been cauterized by the lightsaber, he would live. Jev pushed off the ground with one arm to perform a Force assisted back flip at the end of which he landed upright once more, facing Knot. He wanted to access his opponent's abilities a little more before going on the offensive.

He padded along the edge of the clearing, his defenses up, ready to defend against the next attack. But at the same time he began working on his own attack. Remembering the animals he had sensed in the forest he reached out in the Force, spreading his awareness as far as he could, searching for one in particular. Finally, right at edge of his reach he found it, feasting on the giant fungi that was so common on Felucia. Large, with long arms, wrapped in its exceedingly tough green colored hide, four long curving tusks protruding from its spiky heads, a bull rancor. And it was hungry as a lack of prey had forced it to survive on fungi. Floating a sharp rock from the ground he made a small cut on his cheek, drawing blood. Taking in the smell and taste of the blood he projected it into the rancor's mind, along with a mental image of Knot. The Rancor was immediately driven into a frenzy and it began looking around for its meal, and Jev immediately complied by sending it an image of the direction in which it needed to move to reach them. As the bull rancor began plowing its way towards them through the forest Jev began making preparations for its arrival. Replacing one of his lightsabers, he took out a combat knife, holding it in a reverse grip in his left hand. He then rushed Knot, heading straight in with a horizontal reverse slash of his lightsaber. But at the last moment he jumped into the air and performing a vertical slash towards Knot's face with the knife intended to draw blood, landed behind the Bimm in a crouch and executed a sweep kick to try and knock Knot's feet out form under him.

Fearing the worst, Knot had heard the disturbance through the Force. Furthermore, a pebble struck a cut across his face that his hand immediately reached to cover. His fingers slapped upon his cheek, thumb over his lips. His eyes re-focused on the intruder, as the immediate threat.

Preparing with a bend, his size aided in this clashing. Pivoting in place with a right spin, Vulsuav angled his fist down to bat away the horizontal slash with a downward pointing saber. Spinning all the way around, Knot brought the green beam horizontally up as he back flipped into a spin to match the intruder in the air; his right foot perfectly kicking into the open solar plexus straight up, as his body rotated in avoidance of the vertical attack. But not enough, as the knife barely slit across his turning cheek bone to match the other side of his cut face. Knocking the darksider into an arc of motion further than anticipated, he'd no doubt land slower and harder still as Knot watched with a perfect view. Landing into an immediate dash, Vulsuav had almost forgotten about anything else, he'd dive into a Force assisted corkscrew with his lightsaber leading the way to meet the just landing opponent as his volley of the intruder allowed for Vulsuav's landing to come first. He had set up his kil, now he went in for the finish!

As Jev looked on the Bimm responded to every attack he had made, avoiding his first attack, almost dodging his knife and then countering his leap with a flip of his own. And the kick had not only the knocked the wind out of him, it left a throbbing pain in his abdomen and sent him soaring into a higher arc than he had intended. As he he flew through the air he realized that the Bimm had opened up the perfect opening, and in that instant time seemed to slow down for him. He sensed the growing, single minded focus of his opponent, how he was slowly, unwittingly giving in to the dark side. It was making him stronger, but Jev realized that it was for the best. In his single minded drive to finish Jev, the Bimm was slowly ignoring everything else. And in that moment Jev knew what he had to do. A person was most vulnerable when he was in flight, when he could not change the trajectory of his own motion, could not dodge. But Jev was not a normal person, he had been taught to control the Force, to bend it to his will. And he was not ready to die, his work for Father was still to be finished, far from it. Bringing forth all the love, fear, admiration, every single emotion he felt for Ledo, he fueled his darkness and once more bent the Force to his will. As he landed he pushed the incoming lightsaber ever so slightly to alter its path. A thrust that would have plunged into his heart and killed him instead blazed through his left bicep. The combined effect of the pain from the hole in his arm along with the impact of the attack sent Jev sprawling to the floor.

He was alive but his left hand was useless now, and in that moment he was truly vulnerable. But as the Bimm came in for the kill a giant mushroom came flying in towards them, a new factor had came into the fray and it had completely changed the situation. The bull rancor came crashing into the clearing and in two giant steps cleared the distance between itself and its prey. Using that instant of confusion to his advantage Jev straighten up and jumped away from the Bimm, retreating towards the edge of the clearing. At the same time he enticed the rancor on towards the Bimm. Pulling once more on the smell of the Bimm's blood he sent the smell straight into the rancor's brain, driving it even wilder with hunger than it was. As the rancor came in to pick up its prey Jev reached out with the Force and grasping the Bimm's lightsaber through the Force he pulled it from his grasp, hoping that the rancor's arrival would have shocked the Bimm enough to enable Jev to be able to deprive him of his weapon.

The giant mushroom intercepted the Bimm, taking him from sight as the plant tumbled to stillness with a rubbery wobble. The green lightsaber flew from its place beside the mushroom and into the hands of the invader, and as that fact was realized Vulsuav poked his newly aware head out to the opposite side; as the only visible part of the little Bimm. He screamed with fear, a shrieking of thrashing attempts to unsuccessfully free himself mixed with genuine trained fear that had gathered and bubbled inside him for years. He was helpless, or so it seemed.

The Bull Rancor reached down and lifted the mushroom and Vulsuav with it. The large head of the plant hung upside down, the three fingers of the beast squeezing tight the base of the stem; as Vulsuav had his own arms wrapped around the stem just underneath the bell shaped head, as well in an upside down position. Yet as he hung there and the Rancor drew him in ever so close, Vulsuav seeming caught with his legs in the beast's grip, he waited for the moment once above the gaping maw that welcomed his taste in smell. The Bull Rancor snorted with its mouth open, sniffing while unwilling to wait to devour the little thing that was Knot Vulsuav; and in that instance, all was revealed to be not as it seemed.

Vulsuav was not caught, but holding on the plant; in perfect covered safety of the large hand and mushroom from any prying eyes. He released his hold, lucky beyond belief; or not meant to die just yet, as some see it. Falling into the open mouth, tongue and inner cheek flesh squirming in anticipation, Vulsuav blasted a dash through the air and into the beginnings of the throat cavity past harm of the rows of teeth. The Rancor could not close his mouth fast enough, as the little Bimm raged a scream unlike before; he scratched his own throat in volume breaking pitch. Shooting straight into the throat, the mouth snapped shut. And as the beast attempted to swallow with a tilt of the head, its eyes widened. A rupture of flesh tore at the outer hide of its skin, blood and goo spewing from its openings as an inner force exploded; its throat just under the jaw and tongue expanded like a bomb had erupted inside, tearing vertical streaks of ripping flesh along the neck and mouth.

It's swallow caught the boom of the blast inside without any aid of an opening mouth, instead the lips stayed shut and the beast instantly lost sensibility and thought. It just stood there, wavering in loss of strength. Eyes, ears, nose, pours, and even torn skin gave way to puss and thick substance of blood and fluid mixtures. It fell forward, its right cheek leading the way to meet the dirt with a gigantic slam! The jaw further snapped on impact, as well as released much restrained fluid and loosened organs. Still the mouth held shut, chattering on contact of the ground yet remaining closed at fall's conclusion ...only to leave a moan from within, organic or ...otherwise.

Moments later, the sideways teeth of the Bull Rancor facing the one armed viewer, the underside of the soft of the chin squirmed and broke loose with a spouting little Bimm that torpedo'd out into a roll. Covered in a brownish green viscous material, yet standing tall, the expanding chest beneath face that was revealed to be Knot Vulsuav was wiped away with the left hand and flung aside much splattering goo. He was fine. Out of breath, over humidified, and shivering; but fine. His fists now clenched tight the anger of hatred and murder. Reaching out to the right, a single hand gripped the largest tooth available with the Force and tore it from its socket. His left arm limp and still at his side, his right hand flexed back with telekinetic might and flung the larger than himself spiked tooth at the intruder before him in a heave of scratchy breath.

As the rancor had closed its mouth around Knot Jev had thought the task completed, but then he saw the side of the mouth itself explode and the Bimm had emerged from the remains of the rancor's mouth. As the diminutive Jedi wiped away some goo from his body Jev was shocked by how strongly the dark side was flowing out from him, he had given in to his anger ad hatred and was now using the darkness. It was making him stronger and with one hand useless Jev realized that he wasn't in the best fighting condition. He realized that he might die here, that he would fail not only himself, but Father as well, the very thought rattled him to the core. The rage he had driven himself into started to vanish, and his strength wavered.

But then, as always, Ledo provided him with guidance once more. As he brushed his right hand against his injured left one, he remembered how Ledo had once shown him how he punished those who deserved it. Force lightning, that elusive power that Jev had tried to achieve, had managed to touch, but never fully grasp in the palm of his hands. He remembered how Ledo had told him how it worked, channeling one's darkness into pure, raw, energy and blasting it out through ones hands, but he had not been able to master the ability. Ledo had said that he was not ready, not yet. With a bittersweet smile Jev realized that if he wasn't now he might never be ready. Ledo had made him experience the effects of it first hand and his left hand had been badly burned at the same spot where the lightsaber had pierced him. The injury had sparked his memory and had shown him what to do.

Remembering Ledo's voice he once again fueled the rage within his mind and now the darkness flowing out of the Bimm powered him, drove him forward. As the rancor's tooth came flying at him Jev jumped into the air, forwards and above. Landing one light step on the large projectile, he pushed off into the air once more. The little Bimm, the insignificant piece of filth who was standing in between him and success was right in front of him. Focusing like he had never done before, putting his very life on the line, Jev drew forth all the power within him and envisioned it accumulate in his palms. When he could hold it in no more he let it flow out of him, directing it out through the tips of his hands. Even without looking, or hearing the crackling in the air, he knew he had succeeded. Arcs of bolting, bright blue, electricity shot out towards the Bimm and engulfed him in a world of pain and agony. He landed in front of the Bimm and continued the barrage as long as he could. As soon as the attack ceased Jev felt tired, but he was still thinking and grabbing the Bimm's lightsaber in his left hand he locked it on and threw it straight at the Bimm's chest like a javelin.

Watching with such slow motion, Vulsuav was committed to the throw; his arm in motion as the intruder stepped upon the projectile in motion. The Bimm's head lifted, able to follow the moving being yet unable to react quick enough. The soaring tooth had missed, as his body became entangled with stinging pain.

His head whipped back, his body in thrashing pain. The lightning caused the little Bimm's joints to seize and lock, snapping several fractures in seizures of tensing strain. He finally let scream out all his life's pain, his grievances and shortcomings. This single cry to the heavens was his plea to once and for all grant him peace, yet even this was silenced in interrupting pain as his own lightsaber sunk into his chest to show through his back's melting flesh. The hilt of the lightsaber stuck against his stirnum in rotation and his body froze, his voice ...silenced. Finally, his short frame toppled like a massive tree trunk that echoed its fall for miles in the Force. His lightsaber remaining lit, as it pierced even into the earth itself. The hilt pointed straight out of him, as the breath left his cold lips. His head fell to the side. And after a moment, he was dead.

As lightsaber impaled itself in the Bimm's chest Jev finally relaxed a little and let the rage driving him on secede. Through the Force he felt the little ex-Jedi's life force vanish, another small flame that had gone out to make the darkness even greater. As the Force stopped flowing him exhaustion hit him full in the face and he crashed to the ground and lay there, breathing deeply. He was pleased with the success of his quest, he only hoped that Father would be just as pleased. Turning his face to the side he saw the Bimm's body lying on the floor with the lightsaber still protruding from his back. A little beyond that eh saw the body of the rancor lying on the ground and realized that he was still not completely safe. All this commotion might have attracted other creatures and as he was he could hardly defeat a docile old nerf, much less a bull rancor. He needed to heal himself a little before he could make his way through the jungle once more, making such a perilous journey in his current state was full of dangers.

Pushing himself off the ground his sat cross-legged on the ground and closing his eyes began using the technique Ledo had taught him. Drawing in energy from his surroundings he began healing himself, as plants and animals died, their light vanishing from the galaxy, Jev used that very same growing darkness to strengthen himself. After some time he felt strong enough to make it off the planet and got up, summoned the Bimm's lightsaber into his hand, clipped it onto his belt and began making his way back to the ship.

As Jev finally stepped out into the clearing where the ship sat waiting, he breathed a sigh of relief. Finally he would get the chance to rest and heal himself, the Force and some bacta would have him back to fighting condition pretty soon. As he stepped into the ship the captain was waiting for him, a message was waiting for Jev. At once he knew it was from Ledo, no one else knew he was here.

Stepping into the now empty communications center he knelt on the ground and activated the holo-comm unit. As an image began forming he bowed his head respectfully, "Father, it is done."

"I felt his essence leave him. You have done well."

Ledo had moved to contact his 'child' the moment he envisioned bout's conclusion, keeping a prominent presence in Jev's mind. Ledo would always be watching, no matter where he was. It was one of the most important lessons Ledo made sure all of his pupils knew well. They could not escape his grasp, nor death's outcome. But Ledo made sure to keep his malicious hands busy and focused on his revenge.

"Your defining trial awaits you." Ledo wasted no time. Jev had killed three in his 'Ledo's' name, but one remained before reaching a new rank of knowledge and power. As Jev was told during his training, upon reaching the next rank of Chronicler came a whole new regimen of training to prepare for those higher on the list. And here was the start.

The panel adjacent to the holo-projector, began beeping and sounding with flashing lights as it began receiving coded information of Kwyntehst Terrano. Almost everything listed about this creature was very current and updated, as this was not the first time Ledo had sent an agent of his hand against it. Ledo knew that Jev was quick to learn and would do as Ledo had taught him. He would not explain. All was already laid before him and so Jev's task was upon him. His target awaited.

"Do not ...fail me." The crackling voice ended the transmission. ...Death is the only outcome.
