Did you hear the one about the two great minds atop a mountain peak?

Sound mind, sound body. Find peace within the force. Our minds aren't wells, they won't run dry, just keep drinking water and you'll be just fine... This meditation, this single glorious moment. No past thoughts and no future aspirations, only now.

The two, dressed for the cold winter breeze atop the forested ridge mountain peak, sat silently around the fire. There was no snow yet, but soon, deeper into the winter there will be. The flat rocky surface, the highest point in the region, had a scenic view of the forested valleys below- and the river running through them. The smell of pine was illuminated into the atmosphere from the fire, and speckled red dots danced upwards to be carried away from the wind. The hike had been worth while, to loose oneself from the galaxy. To find one's center again- it was marvelous.

The sing-song chirping of mounatin carrion birds and forest creatures created a atmospheric background music. The feeling of the wind atop the mountain nipping at the cold noses leaving them stained red. She could see that his cheeks were becoming rosy pink even though her eyes were closed. This was the true sight one had up here. When the force is present the use of your eyes is redundant.

Meditating half of the day atop the ridge with each other prepared them for the friendly sparring match that they would share- their weapons tuned down but their minds open. With one last deep exhale each, the two began to make there ways to the edge of the ridge where the holiest of rituals between friends would take place.

She was dressed in dark red and black plaid on her button up flannel sweater and scarf. The dark grey beanie covered down to her ears as the rest of her brown hair hung out of the cap elegantly. Her grey jeans were thermal and form fitting while her long sleeve undershirt was another beige thermal for the winter coldness. The black monkey boots she wore housed her toasted toes inside of a snug blanket of woolen sock...

Removing the messenger bag from her shoulder and placing it on the ground, she removes a single bladed- pale green lightsaber... And walks towards the circle...

"I am ready, friend. Are you?" she spoke, with the quiet and calm high voice that the young woman had.

Tarn of Clan Lok took his double bladed saber out of the small sheath. He looked at Mitya and grinned. The two of them trained on top of the mountain. A friendly match. It didn't matter who would win this duel, because both of them would learn a great deal from each other. Still, Tarn would try his best to defeat Mitya, and show her that he was the better swordsman. He was a proud Kiffar, the last of his clan.

'Are you ready?' he asked her. He raised his saber and ignited only one of the two blue blades. The weight of the weapon felt good in his hands. The weapon truly was an extention of his arm.

'Best of luck, Mitya,' he said in a friendly manner. Then he raised his lightsaber in front of him with both his hands, and awaited her to make the first move. He glanced at her past the glowing plasma blade, ready to fight.

Drawing her lightsaber near and igniting it, she saluted Tarn, than slowly dropped her lightsaber into Makashi opening stance...

"I'm as ready as I'll ever be..." she said humbly to him, pursing her lips from the cold.

She step forward slowly, her right side facing him, circling closer.
As she salute again she smiled to lightly bring her lightsaber crashing downwards in the shape of an X . Two strikes of her flourish, the first designated for his shoulder and the second downward strike, to his arm...

Retreating backwards once more Mitya moved her hand calmly down again into opening guard.

Tarn saw her approach with her saber raised in her hands. He took a slight step back with his right leg and at the last moment, before her first strike would hit him, he brought his own saber up to block. Sparks bounced off the two laserswords. She immediately followed through with a strike to his arm, but he avoided it with a simple side step to the left.

In that instant he had drawn the power of the Force to himself and augmented his own speed. He sprung into the air, somersaulting over her head and slashing down to her right shoulder. If she would be unable to block this, all she would feel would be a slight sting, for Tarn had set his lightsaber to the 'training-mode'. Of course, he didn't want to hurt his friends.

He landed behind her and quickly dashed backwards, to the other end of the mountain peak. He twirled the magnificent blue flame in his hands and then reached out with his left hand. It might have looked like he would attack through the Force, but instead he simply beckoned her to come over and strike again.

She kept a steady calm eye on him as he hastily flipped around in a confusing, flashy somersaults and twirls. Stepping back and raising her blade to angle his attack away, pushing to follow through with a parry.

He was using the force- so would she. What was his weakness though? She wondered. She pondered for a moment eye-balling his movements. She would find it, perhaps through dun moch...

"Your flashy tricks are nothing more than confusing acrobatics, Tarn..." She said softly in a calm voice, hopefully to shake him a little.

She stepped forward and back watching his counter-movements. Lunging forward, she quickly let out a forewards lunging slash- if it would make contact than it would leave at most a sting slashing downwards the center of his chest...

She prepared to parry whatever counter-attack he would manage to throw at her this time, again...

Tarn shrugged and grinned. 'If you say so,' he said, 'then I suppose they work just fine.'

The next moment she dashed forwards, slashing at his chest, but at the time she'd reach him he was already long gone. He sprung out of the way, landing several steps to the left of her.

The Force swirled around him and he would make use of it in this duel. He reached out, wrapping its mystical currents around her waist and attempted to pull her towards himself. It was a strong pull, only few managed to resist. As she would fly towards him, falling through the air, he thrust his saber forwards at her abdomen. If the pull had been succesful and if she was unable to parry the stab; she would only feel a sting in her stomach. The blade wouldn't cut through her, wouldn't do any damage at all, but if he managed to strike her, victory would most likely be his.

Of course, he was on guard, even when trying to pull her towards himself. In case she would counter through the Force, or with her saber, he would try to dodge or block the attack.

The air seemed to be an advantage to him, but landing would seem to play as a sure-fall here. Whipping around, she was pulled to her left towards him. His saber jutting out, although it was nonlethal, her instincts said it was. She knew she wouldn't have much to do to counter-act the pull. Hell, it was an intuition through instinct. That's pretty much what every fight would come down too, she thought. Intuition. Instinct.

Lifting her arm upwards she swept the blue blade away from her, pointing it upwards with her force abilities.
The two collided, she prepared for whatever abuse he would, whether through another force push or just hands. Either way, she wisened up to push herself off of him when they collided.
