Overpopulation on Manaan is as big an issue as anywhere else in the wider Galaxy. With more and more Cities being constructed below the water, ’Weztron’ have decided they do not wish to be left out, and have constructed their Corporate HQ below one of the Planets many Oceanic squalls. However, recently the settlement has gone silent, dropping of the communication grid. Head down there and see what happened, don't forget your rebreathers.

OOC - This will be an ASK thread for 2-4 Hutt Factional Members/Associates. It will be PvE, with rogue droids abound!

Under the Sea, Darling it's better, Down where it's wetter

Underwater, just did not appeal to the droid like space did. Sea salt and rust seemed to be the motivating factor in a fear spiral for this droid. " A good oil bath after this is done " Interjected from his vocabulator, dryly looking around the platform where he had landed. Waiting for the sentient being that had been paired up with him on this mission. Having received the transmission a few days ago, he had made due to Manaan where the thrilling aspect of killing his own kind seemed to play with him. Of course free batteries and other parts were a bounty for him. He had prepared, bringing several ion grenades placed haphazardly in a bag. Ever waiting to explode and scrap him with it.

His hand grasped a datapad, with the contents of the message from Desilijic Dispatch. Almost in a nervous human like motion to recheck the data, even though it would not be amiss in his mighty droid brain. Everything had been prepared, blaster paks, locking his freighter, dreaming about evil humans who wish to wipe his memory, everything. While he awaited his compatriot, he decided to run a diagnostic on routines and subroutines. After all a error was an error, and it was best to be prepared for anything, under the Sea.

Shar read up on the the information for the current assignment as his ship decended to the landing platform he was supposed be meeting his droid partner for this mission on. Seemed pretty standard as far as what they needed to accomplish. Go down find out what happened to the crew, simple enough. The Longshot shuddered as it landed on the platform. He stood donning his helmet with a small hiss as it sealed. He grabbed his gear as he walked to the exit ramp in the rear. Though he hoped it wouldn't come to prolonged periods in water, he took the precaution of grabbing a larger air canister and he had prepped his weapons for underwater combat on the flight over.

He lowered the ramp and stepped out onto the platform and was immediately met with the famous wind of Manaan's surface. He spotted his partner and made his way to him. Shar had no idea why the Hutts allowed droids such positions in their organization. To Shar nothing could replace the intuition and instincts that a living creature, even non-sentient, possessed. The mando would just mentally shrug it off, figuring there was no point questioning it. If this was who he was working with so be it. Shar had enough intuition and instincts for the both of them.

Once he was closer he saw the droid seemed to be...lost in thought? No matter Shar decided to get right to intruductions so they could get down to business.

"Names Shar. Let's get this over shall we."

Without waiting for a response he headed for the turbolift that would carry them down to the Headquaters.

-Diagnostic Complete, Scanning....Scan Complete-
The Droid would turn towards Shar, a scan commenced and completed ever so fast, forming a response. "Riunn is my designation, It has been predicted from preliminary analysis that quick action will be for the best" He followed Shar to the turbolift, ever so ready to carry on the action they would be taking as part of their mission from Desilijic Clan...Standing in the Turbolift as it would send them down under the sea, his left hand moving with almost sentient like efficiency instead of the sorry clanking of droid kind would pull out a couple of grenades. "it has been advised, In closed spaces inside the complex..Ion Grenades will take out droids with more efficiency, I have a supply for you." After all, Sharing was caring

Shar nodded to Riunn and accepted the grenades. He was glad to know this droid had enough reasoning to use the right tools for the job. Come to think of it Shar would probably need to take a look at expanding his own kit soon. His new "job" would probably be sending him into a variety of combat situations and Shar wasn't one to unprepared for any eventuality. He put that thought away though, better to focus on the task at hand.

The lift they were on was of the more fancy variety of surface to surf lifts. It had large view ports and a sleek design, meant to immediately impress any would be investors most likely. Through the ports Shar could see the facility coming into view. It wasn't an overtly large settlement as most of the outlying structures had yet to be built. From what he could see the place still matched the schematics that he and Riunn had been given. The HQ was in the center of the settlement with satellite building being linked to it by various connecting tubes. There also didn't seem to be any external damage to the station. So it seemed initial reports of an internal droid revolt seemed true as well.

Shar un-slung his rifle, priming it, as they approached the lifts end point inside the station. As they passed through the final threshold, the lift jolted to a stop. As the doors parted Shar raised his rifle scanning the entrance foyer. He saw no immediate threats, but the bodies didn't escape his attention. The staff that made it this far had been gunned down from behind. Shar kept scanning and motioned for Riunn to move up.

"Let's make this quick. Straight line to the main hub and the station control room. Move"

A side port would open on his body, pulling out his Heavy Blaster that almost seemed light for the mission ahead. The lift stopped opening up to the scenes of carnage before them, no collateral damage then. "No sentient life detected within twenty meters of our position." To the control room it was, targeting simulations started making their way through the processors, ready for any number of targets he was told was here. Other droids after all, or a wary employee bent on surviving, only to be cut down by accident.

His hand that help the weapon would rise, keeping a fixed position ahead of him. Nothing had popped up yet, scanning would keep a present upbeat as he announced Signals detected ahead, prediction...Droids. Immediate reaction to reach in the carryon behind him, pulling out a ion grenade, and keeping it ready to go in his metal hands. The door to the Main Hub was up and coming, only a few moments now until they found out what was behind it

Shar heard Riunn's warning and kept his rifle trained and scanning in front of him, giving the droid a quick grunt to confirm he heard him. As they drew closer more bodies could be seen littering the floor, a mix of all races and even some droids. Looked like the inhabitants didn't go down without a fight. They continued forward and Shar couldn't shake the feeling that he and Riunn were being watched. Finally the duo would reach the entrance to the main hub. The hallway they were end would widen out into a large atrium; even more bodies littered the floor. Signs of battle could be seen all around. Shar didn't like it. The only cover they would get here would be some benches and pillars spaced evenly until the door to the main hub doorway.

Shar would keep his head on a swivel and slowly approach the door. He would hit the switch and suddenly a load alarm would go off. Over the alarm the sound of metal clanking against metal could be heard from the 2 side corridors could be heard...the droids. Suddenly a shrill voice would sound over the stations PA system.

"Hahaha! Foolish enforcers of the Hutt scum! You've fallen directly into my trap. I'll kill you here and now and begin the march to a Manann free of outside influence like yours! A Manann that's free to sell and trade kolto as it feels. Now die you Hutt Scum!"

As the crazy woman finished talking the droids would come into sight and open fire. Shar would roll into cover and return fire on the droids coming from the right corridor. The 2 would be hard pressed here as they were being caught in a pincer maneuver.

-Predicitive Analysis complete..Security Programming opened, Authorized-

Metal fingers would grip the grenade, the activation light on it glowing blue and suddenly blinking. The targeting suite inbuilt in his processor calculting the precise distance, throwing the grenade just as Shar rolled into cover, the grenade sent down the right corridor while moving into cover from the Droids on the left, blaster shots ringing past him, one singing the side of his body, leaving blaster mark across his body. The shrill beeps would go off and the grenade exploding among the droid squad. Frying their circuts with delicious efficency.

The stacco fire would fly past the door way, leaving him with a few options. A decision made, pulling his blaster, he would blind fire door the corridor. Potshots that he was not sure would connect, but it left it convient cover for Shar to react. This was a delicate position, but it was not impossible to rout to their advantage.

Shar Kept firing, holding his grenade instead focusing on kill shots now that Riunn had dealt with the right corridor. He would fire his rifle repeatedly each shot either hitting center mass or a head shot. Using Riunn's cover fire he'd duck and move further to the left out of line of sight of the droids as they marched. He'd then nail each remaining droid as they came through the door. Once the last droid was dealt with he'd offer Riunn a curt nod of approval. Even the seasoned mando had to admit the droid had handled himself well.

Shar would reload and double check the two corridors and he'd look back to Riunn once it was clear. He'd check to the door to see the obvious and yes the door was locked and jammed.

"Doubt that was all of them. We need to find a way to bypass the door. Can you interface with the system here and find us a back door or are we gonna have to do this the hard way."

Could he interface with the system? Yes that was a blessing that his makers installed in him. Walking up to the door trading the blaster pistol to his left hand , one of his right fingers would drop down like it was broken, revealing a computer interface device. It would be planted into the circle, as a few ticks and turns could be heard The door will be opening shortly, prepare. with a idle tone to it. A few more clicks of the device, it would open the door and show the path forth so they could continue the mission.

Moving the blaster back to his right, he would start to scan for other enemies. Priming the blaster and getting it ready to fire, four shots remaining until next clip would cycle through his memory. Lets move onwards, I can sense that we will have incoming guests soon

Shar kept a lookout as the Droid got the door open. He slipped inside scanning from right to left as he waited for Riunn to close the door behind them. Ahead of them was a long corridor lined with 5 offices on either side. The corridor ended with the door to the main control room of the station, no doubt were there mastermind was hiding.

Shar took notice that this section seemed to be clear of bodies and showed no signs of struggle as far as he could tell. Shar took point kept them moving foward at a slow pace; he didn't want to run into any nasty surprises. They finally made it to the control room door and before they even hit the control panel it slid open. Shar snapped his rifle up and carefully entered the room. It was dark besides a few lit consoles and that's when they heard the voice of mastermind.

"Hahahaha you idiots! Did you really think I'd try and hold up somewhere so obvious. Oh no, I won't be foiled so easily. You on the other hand will die down here. Enjoy you're swim boys. Hehehahahah!"

Once her voice cut out Shar could hear something...dripping, and it was getting more and more frequent. It would only be a matter of time until the water pressure made whatever breach was present implode filling the main hub and corridor with a deadly rush of water. He turned then and saw the offices behind them opening and out of each one stepping a droid that was now taking aim at the pair. Shar knew one thing, the slugs were gonna double his salary if they made it out of this alive.

The door would click loudly, giving off the beacon of hope that it was closing on its own volition after Riunn walked through it. A scan would be started, but poorly interupted by the sudden loudspeaker. The sound of water about to come forth, the classic set for a ambush and the inability to use ion grenades should he been in a pool of water himself. Fried Riunn was not a good Riunn...

Following Shar down the corridor, invariably unworried about the prospect of water coming forth, he would immediately start aiming. The blaster going off in a calm stacco of robotic accuracy and timing, leaving nothing to chance as would, nothing for sudden sentient functions to throw off. His first blaster shot would lance through its core, taking the battery out.

He would move off to the side, filling in one of the office vacancies and preparing to meet the flow of water.

As Riunn opened fire Shar retreated slightly laying cover fire with his rifle not aiming as he was looking for something else. He soon found it, the rupture in the control room wall that was now pouring water into the room. He quickly pulled one of his adhesive grenades and tossed it at the rupture. The grenade detonated and the pink gooey substance seals the breach, but it would only last 3 minutes.

Shar moved back to the hallway and takes over in the door now aiming his rifle, firing off his 3 remaining shots then switches to his pistol. Between the 2 enforcers the security droids don't last long, with the final one falling minutes later.

"We've got to move...I'm ready to put this Di'Kut down."

They make their way back down the corridor, Shar giving quick glances into the offices to make sure they were clear. Upon reaching the opposite door which Shar figures Riunn could open easily. The merc was getting tired of this run around and hoped he'd be the one to put the blaster bolt in this annoying woman's head.

Scanning the hallway while following Shar, his blaster pistol now down another shot before reload would pop up in his memory, effortlessly keeping the Riunn in the know when to react and put himself into cover to reload. He moved to the door, looking it over calmly. A finger on his left hand would whirl and turn into the access port for the door, placing it in their with the customary clicks start reacting.

The door would slide open at a alarming rate, faster then Riunn had anticipated, his right arm bent slowly forward while scanning the room for any enemies that may have triggered the door while he was attempting to open it. Move Forward, Immediate area clear

Shar slipped past Riunn back into the atrium the door closing behind them. Just after, Shar could hear the water crash against the closed door. Now Shar was annoyed. He turned to Riunn after scanning the immediate area and popped a fresh power pack into his rifle.

"Ok, she's obviously still down here. She can't have reprogrammed all these droids by hand, so she's probably used some kind of signal from where ever she's hunkered down. If you can scan for her we can put her down."

Shar was able to continue as now more droids came walking down the main corridor from where they had originally entered. Shar slid into cover and now he did pull and prime one of the ion grenades that Riunn had given him. He expected his partner to open fire on the droids and Shar let fly his grenade as almost half had entered the atrium. The detonation would see the droids crack and fizzle and fall to the ground. From here he would draw his pistol and help Riunn clean up the rest.

"Damn it at this point these scrap heaps are just slowing us down."

Movements only befitting a Robotic Lifeform would come to life, snapping off shots with graceless precision. Instead of the head, he seemed to be aiming for a particular area in the chest that when struck caused the smell of battery to spill out. It made sense though, since his partner had just helped him form a idea in the paradigm of targeting features and survival enhancements.

The blaster was empty, the powerpack falling to the ground with a click of the extension. He would slide a new one in as he stalked among the bodies before reaching his quarry. Provide cover.. His left hand suddenly coming together and ripping forth to rip the downed robot's head off. Taking a few steps back to atleast get the benefit of half cover, his access port forcing its way into the droids connections to force a transfer of information. Of course if he did this to a sentient being, it would be a horrifying scene of torture and murder..

Memory scanned, can point us towards central command..no guarantee quarry is there With that he would start marching down the hallway with more "Motivation" then in the previous moments of their encounters.

Shar nodded and followed letting Riunn take point as he kept an eye out behind them as they headed for central command. The woman must have slaved the control room functions to a terminal there. It was smart but not that smart. As the moved through the darkened corridors they only encountered minor resistance and made steady progress. After another droid was laid down by his pistol Shar had to speak up.

"This is too easy. I don't like it."

Just as he finished a door to their side opened and spilled forth a wall of water. Shar cursed and quickly launched his DGL at the ceiling and held on for his life as more doors opened spilling forth more water. He assumed Riunn probably had the weight to not be swept away. After a 30 seconds the entire hall was flooded. Shar's rebreather kicked in and he retracted his grapple line, floating easily.

"Karking bitch"

The sensory pickup of water, coming like a crashing wave over his sensitive equipment would defiently alert the droid to react. His left hand would reach up to one of the doorways, fingers digging into the metal to cement himself in place as the first wave would crash over him, after so, the room filling up with water and starting the medium to slow build up to cover him in water. Letting go of the doorway to make his way forward before the water became more of a nusiance. Marching forward now, and determined to get to the control center and take control of the situation.

It would be ill advised to use ion grenades in the water.. Before forcing his access port into the door and brute forcing it open. A few seconds, he would walk through and see the command center through glass windows. Offices were ahead of them, and the countdown before something else could possibly go wrong was moving through his head. The water followed his path, as he punched his way through a office door. Leaving glass behind him, and his blaster trained should anything come into his view.
