Nereza had finally coerced James into the sleeping quarters of his new ship. As tired as she had been, she’d seen the boy-like look in his eyes as he adjusted into the controls and capabilities of his inherited vessel. In the end though, the caress of his wife had drawn the sniper from his seat and into the plush captain’s quarters.

She had enjoyed the warmth of him wrapped around her, the feeling of his palm against her belly and the feel of his steady breath against the back of her neck as she settled to sleep there. It had been a tiring journey for them, a lot of emotion had come their way since they’d met, a lot of heart ache but they had remained strong, embraced to a future with one another. It only seemed fitting that the fates would throw them another twist in the form of James’s uncle.

Still, at least they were on the move, it was the only time she really relaxed, this time would be no different as she slumbered with her riduur, her fingers inserted between his. The two of them needed the rest, but most importantly the mother-to-be certainly did.

The trip to Tatooine would be several hours, long enough for the two of them to actually get some rest in before a beeping came from the console at the head of the bed, drawing the former officer awake, her eyes squinted a bit as she loosened her fingers from James’s own, rubbing her palm over her face before reaching up and toggling the indicator.

“Mm. What is it?”

“Pardon the interruption ma’am, we are ten minutes out from the spacial exit for Tatooine.”

Neri groaned a bit and shifted more over onto her back next to James, bringing her hand up and lightly caressing her touch against his scruffy jaw, a small grin rising up as she looked to his eyes, “Well Captain, that’s your call.”
