Invasion Corellia Denunciation

The Byblos Fleet appeared suddenly above the planet Corellia. The Corellian fleet had post-surrender been assimilated into the Hapan fleet, which was now above Kashyyyk and therefore Corellia's Hapan defenders were only few. Senator Kang stood on the bridge of the Byblos Flagship, the BSS Temeraire, and from there opened a channel to Corellia and its occupying force.

"Hapan occupying force, I am Senator Kang and while the madwoman you call Queen Mother assaults the stronghold planet of Kashyyyk, I have come to convince you to denounce Charlotte Le'Anna and give Corellia back to the Corellians."​

Corellia was a former Republic world just like Byblos and while their interplanetary government, that spanned thousands of planets, had collapsed due to the Killik invasion, there would still be a comfort in knowing that old allies still acted to help each other. Unfortunately, due to the surprise nature of Hapes' attack on Corellia, the Byblos fleet had not been in time to defend it then. But she was here now..

Meanwhile the Captain of the BSS Temeraire issued her orders to the entire fleet, taking formation to blockade the planet and deploy starfighters to effectively prevent any ships going in or out through the Corellia's orbit. If, for some reason, the madwoman's remaining troops decided to fight the Byblos Fleet to the death, then Senator Kang hoped the Corellian locals would support her in taking the Hapan forces down with as few casualties as possible. She was not here to 'burn the planet down' but rather to curtail Hapes by restricting its access to the Corellian shipyards.

[System Defense Force]

The Consortiums Fleets were vast. They spanned 130 star systems. The Royal Navy was one of the largest in the galaxy outside the ISC. True, several of the Royal fleets had been mobilized to Kashyyk but the First Royal Fleet had remained above Corellia at the Queen Mother's Command. Admiral Teral'Da remained above the recently subjugated world so that when the Byblos fleet appeared, she began issuing commands. "Block their communications and open a line to Senator Kang." There would be no hopeful messages planetside. The inspiring Senator would simply never be heard. The First Fleet was already in defensive position around Corellia. Ready for whatever Kang might do.

"Senator, this world belongs to her August Majesty Queen Mother Charlotte Fora Le'Anna. Turn your ass around." She would not have such foolishness on her watch.

Fortunately Charlotte wasn’t an imbecile and the consolidated Consortium Fleet was not, in fact, on Kashyyyk while leaving a recently occupied territory neutered. The joint fleets of Corellia and the Consortium were great, and the planet was well equipped to fend off against invaders should it come to blows. With any luck it wouldn’t come to that.

Raze, of course, was notified of what happened and he knew his role to play here. There was no communications going planetside, but there was no ignoring a fleet above the planet and a blockade. He had been Emryc Thorne long enough to know how to influence the masses and to have a vast following. Within moments, he planted into the mind of a long-term Corellian diplomat the seeds of panic and concern. The ideas of Byblos showing up to devastate their planet. He would see the images of the planet burning. He would see despair, and he would believe it.

The diplomat picked up his comlink and called someone else. Who then called others. And the fear and anxiety began to spread like wildfire. Raze did not have to manipulate the minds of everyone, he simply needed to sway the mind of those with influence and let the rest sort itself out. Individuals were dangerous and intelligent, people as a collective were lemmings.

It would take no time for the locals to panic and listen to those they knew for so long speak of this great threat that would bring new fire and destruction to their planet. Every word from this Senator would be deceptive and poisonous if it made it planetside. If a fleet battle began, it would be because Byblos was the warmonger.

Two things struck out immediately. One, the Hapes Consortium forces managed to realize the intentions of a fleet that just got out of hyperspace instantly and took countermeasures so effectively that all external-bound communication of all Byblos vessels was blocked before they could even state the reason of them being there.

Two, for some reason, they had known that the senator was on board of the BSS Temeraire. She hadn't announced it, nor had the Byblos navy been able to broadcast anything. Still, they knew.

The Captain of the BSS Temeraire looked over to Senator Kang once the ship received the transmission. "What should we do, Senator Kang?" she asked, but everyone on that bridge knew the stories of ships moving to engage in futile and self-destructive efforts. If no one on Corellia was capable, or willing, to engage in a dialogue, then that was it. Jana could only try and sway people with words, as that is why she was a senator in the first place.

"Do we have any external comms available to reply?" Jana asked and turned her head towards the bridge's communications officer, who shook his head. "All blocked," which meant the only way to communicate to the fleet was an antiquated subnet. The chances that civilians on Corellia would be able to receive a message send that way was unrealistically small, so the Byblos Fleet only had one real option..

..and Jana knew it would mean she could no longer hold onto her position as a senator.

"Alright, signal the rest of the fleet. Let's return to Byblos." Apparently every single on of Charlotte's officers were completely onboard with following her through this madness. "The planet is better defended than our intel suggested, which makes our goal of a planetwide blockade doomed to fail."
