Raz wasn’t one to panic normally, but she certainly was doing just that while on a ship that was on the fritz. Thankfully, whether by luck or skill, Crix managed to down the droid. She didn’t even have the chance to breathe a sigh of relief as the alarms continued to blare and the ship actually rocked a little. Raz gripped the seat nearest to her, knuckles going white from how tightly she was holding on. Her heart was pounding against her chest.

Great. They were going down. She was going to die on a shitty piece of metal with a KO’d goat and a clueless twat for company. This would be how her story ended. Raz Solus, the great future leader of her Clan, the one to guide her people into glory, would die this day in the most anticlimac- Her train of self deprecating thoughts came to a crashing end as the alarms abruptly stopped. Whatever Crix did, it managed to actually level everything and get them back on course.

She slowly looked up at him, thankful that he couldn’t see the sheer terror on her face. She didn’t like admitting to others that she actually didn’t like flying at all. It was an irrational fear, but one she had for her entire life. Being a bounty hunter and going all over the galaxy was possible only when she popped a few pills and let a droid do the piloting.

Raz weakly nodded, rising up as she felt a sharp pang of pain. She glanced down to realize that a blaster bolt had gone directly through her armor. The shoulder chunk was missing and it had burned her flesh. She grimaced down at the pulsating wound and shrugged, taking a seat next to Crix and pretending not to be in agony.

“After that bullshit… I’ll give you a cut of the bounty,” She shook her head, sighing as she looked over at the remains of the droid.

Crix was glad to see Raz was alright. She seemed relieved all the excitement was over and he couldn't blame her. She shocked him when she offered up a cut of the bounty. He considered it for a moment and said, "I'm not going to argue with that, thanks," he jerked a thumb toward Beev and scoffed adding, "Let's face it, there's no way he was going to pay me."

Crix scanned the ships nav system and said, "Looks like there's a decent sized city just ahead. I'm gonna set her down so we can turn in this little twerp."

He easily brought the ship in for a landing at the cities port and was sure to give them Beev's info when payment was required. Crix took the advantage of having the ship repaired on Beev's dime, after all, it was his fault for being a dick. The city wasn't anything spectacular. It was sporting the same strange unification of native culture and imperial reformation common in planets on the fringes of Imperial control. Crix always found the look unsettling, but it's not like there was anything he could do about it... For now his only objective was following Raz and making sure Beev was turned in.

"Hey, I don't think I ever caught your name?" He said as they marched grumpy little Beev to the nearest Bounty Acquisitions office.

Raz kept quiet for a moment, trying to ignore the searing pain in her shoulder. She had a bad habit of ignoring pains and injuries, preferring to simply act like nothing happened. Raz focused on what Crix was saying to distract herself. She nodded in response, easing back into the seat and training her gaze forward. She could see they were quickly approaching down on the city, and she was beyond thrilled to be rid of the stupid goat that was far more trouble than he was worth.

As they touched down, she rose from her seat and dragged up the Bothan. It was going to be awkward to lug him over to the bounty office, and they would have to explain the situation to several checkpoints. Nevertheless, she helped carry him, taking the quickest route over to the office. As they walked, Crix asked for her name. She shrugged, “People know me as Ghost so go with that,” She offered no other explanation. As tacky of a name as it was, it was the one that stuck with her from her days in Mandalorian space. She was difficult to spot in the battlefield and always moved too quickly from one place to the next. Since she ‘ghosted’ so much, it earned her that nickname. She also preferred this over giving out her real name.

It didn’t take them long to hand Beev over, and the headache was over for now. She took the money and handed him a small share of it. She wasn’t sorry to part with the cash, not after he had helped save her life. Raz eyed him for a moment, grinning beneath her helmet, “You should save up for a nicer ship. You fly a piece of shit right now,” She muttered matter of factly.

Raz winced as the pain on her shoulder got exponentially worse, the wound now beginning to turn an odd shade of green. She sighed and waved at him, “Well uh…good luck or whatever. See you around.”

"Oooo, mysterious," he teased, but Crix knew not to push her. If she didn't want to tell him that was fine. He was surprised at how mundane the whole process was. It felt like he was applying for a loan or opening a bank account. As they exited Ghost handed over the credits she'd promised. He couldn't hide a surprised little smile as he quickly the chits.

Crix gave a low whistle and said, "Either that little goat was worth a small fortune, or you're being a way too generous." He chuckled before thanking her sincerely. Wasn't too often he came across someone that was actually true to their word. Ghost's quip about his shitty ship made him laugh, "Yeah, I think I'll do that. My current ship isn't really my style, I'm trying to get a Corellian model." His confident smile faltered momentarily as Ghost winced in pain. He spotted the wound on her shoulder and had to hide a shocked expression as he saw the discoloration.

"That shoulder isn't looking too hot, you want me to go with you to the med center?" he knew she was tough, he'd literally watched her throw a grown man into an airlock, but if the wound was infected she might pass out before she got there. Figuring she was going to attempt to brush him off Crix decided to brazen through, "Aw, c'mon. Tell ya what, if the doc clears you, I'll buy you a drink."

He strode over next to her not invading her space but positioning himself close enough to catch her if she collapsed. He pulled out his datapad and punched in a quick search. The nearest urgent care was a few blocks away. "It's really no trouble, I won't even talk so you can just pretend I'm not here." He flashed a wry grin and started walking toward the med center.

Raz felt much better now that she didn’t have to worry about Beev. Not only did she have to worry about him before, but she also had to concern herself with rival bounty hunters. Now that he was finally turned in, she could relax with the cash for a while. She was about to turn and walk off when Crix spoke up about the ship. She quirked an eyebrow, not entirely sure about ships, “Is Corellian supposed to be a good ship?”

She was distracted when he next commented on her shoulder. Raz followed his line of sight, spotting how angry and disgusting the wound was looking. She gave him a blank stare through her visor, “I don’t need a babysitter,” But then she perked up at the mention of a drink. Raz pondered this for a moment before finally nodding, “All right, I can do with a drink after that shitshow,” She caught him moving close enough, nervously looking as if she were going to pass out on the spot. Raz took a few steps forth and purposely jerked to the side as if to faint, grinning to herself as he no doubt dramatically moved with her. Raz straightened up casually, “What? I was just reaching to adjust my armor, sheesh.”

She followed him to the nearest medical center. Raz went in by herself, and it was only a matter of moments before he could hear her arguing and shouting at the medics. After another shouting match, she finally emerged again, entire plates of her armor missing. Her right arm was exposed, her full sleeve tattoos on display along with her bandaged shoulder. She shook her head, “Making me remove my armor. Can you believe the nerve of these people?”

Raz began to walk quickly, grumbling and cursing to herself in Mando’a. She made a beeline towards the strip of road that had all the bars, “I’m going to need several drinks after this. It’s a wonder I didn’t strangle that stupid healer.”

Suprised to find her interested, Crix just shrugged and replied, "Depends on the model, and the one I've got my eye on hasn't been released to the public yet." A devious little smirk played on his lips as he fantasized about his ship to be.

Coming back from La La Land and resettling into reality stung a little, but not as much as Ghost's arm had to of. She'd reacted about as well as he'd figured when he offered help, luckily he was able to bribe her with alcohol. Crix was quickly learning that the quickest way to most people's hearts was through a vice.

As they walked to the med center Crix kept a watchful eye on Ghost. Unexpectantly, she buckled appearing to stumble and he reacted, turning to her just in time to walk right into her trap... Ghost had faked adjusting some of her armor just to get a rise out of him and it'd worked. His face flushed a little as he stammered for some lame excuse that never came.

He threw his hands up in surrender and said, "Sorry, I forgot you're a super soldier," he chuckled adding, "I'm starting to think you were created in a lab." Even though her helmet he could feel the vibroswords she was glaring at him. Deciding to double down on the jest, as they reached the Med center he trotted ahead and opened the automatic door for her. He was rewarded with the door being shut in his face.

"Guess, I'll stay outside..." he muttered to no one in particular.

Crix leaned against the wall and pulled out his datapad to scope out the nearby watering holes. Apparently, they were in a popular area, there were numerous dives to choose from and he decided to just pick the closest one. The Drunk Sarlacc was right around the corner and according to numerous one-star reviews it totally sucked, which only made Crix want to go there more. A commotion coming from the room behind him nearly spurred him in, but when he caught the muffled pleas of the doctor for Ghost to remove a few pieces of her armor, he was able to work out what was going on.

A moment later a bandaged up Ghost emerged from the Med Center.

"There she is- Oh, cool tat." he said as she bemoaned having to remove some armor. He shrugged and said, "Could be worse, we could not being going to drink right now." he jerked a thumb around the corner and said, "Bar's right around here."

The Drunk Sarlacc was the epitome of a dive bar. A smokey haze filled the atmosphere and a raucous jukebox played local music adding to the eclectic nature of the dump. Crix took a seat and when the server droid approached he said, "I've been dying for this. Beev was the worst." he laughed, placing his order and being sure to pay for hers as well.

"So, how's the whole bounty thing work? Is it as boring as turning Beev in was?" He still couldn't get over how lame turning in a bounty had been. Truthfully, he wasn't really sure what he'd expected, but standing in line and then filling out paperwork wasn't it.

Raz was still raging by the time she left the medical bay, but she began to cool off at the thought of drinking. She also remembered that she had a hefty stash of credits to boot, and she wouldn’t have to chase bounties for a short period of time. Her focus would slowly turn back to her clan. Ever since Medriaas, she had a nagging feeling to go back to pick up the slack of her clan. Other clans believed that Solus was all but eradicated, and she herself believed it for a long period of time.

Her thoughts were pushed aside as she followed Crix towards the bar, taking in the scenery and the music. Raz walked over and took a seat next to him, preparing to fork her own credits over when he offered. She quirked an eyebrow under her helmet, not having expected the gesture. She had been less than warm with him thus far, and he kept a positive attitude about things regardless.

As her drink arrived, she stared at it for a long moment. At long last, with a sigh, she finally took her helmet off. She always felt strange and naked without her helmet, but it felt silly to be in one inside a bar. Raz’s hair fell down to her shoulders and she was hit with the scent of perfumes and colognes from all around, “Usually it’s boring, yeah,” Raz lit a cigarra and drew it in, the smoke pluming back out of her nostrils, “However, sometimes you get chased by other bounty hunters as you go to get the mark. As you experienced first hand…”

“Why, considering a change in career?” She grinned at him, trying to picture him as a bounty hunter. While he came through in a clutch with the droid, she couldn’t imagine him following the lifestyle of a bounty hunter, “What do you do, anyway? Ferry around rich assholes with bounties on them?”

Welp, Ghost was hot. Crix wasn't sure what he was expecting, but he was mid draft when she reluctantly removed her helmet and he struggled to get his drink down. He regained his composure and cleared his throat.

"Sorry, drink went down the wrong pipe," he lied.

He was pretty sure she didn't buy it. He laughed when she reminded him about the more exciting aspects of her job. "Yeah, I suppose it balances out."

Crix chuckled as Ghost ribbed him about his current gig. "Yeah, maybe. You wanna teach me to hunt?" he joked back.

To be honest, he didn't know what he was doing... He'd just been drifting since Taris, and he was in a bit of a rut as far as smuggling jobs. Deciding to brood on his own time, Crix just shrugged in response to her question saying, "I'm a smuggler, I carry whatever the employer wants. Sometimes it's them." he laughed hoping his bluff was convincing.

A part of him wanted to add on his desire to be the best smuggler in the galaxy, but he'd learned at a pretty young age no one cared unless you could prove it. And, also it would be really creepy since they'd basically just met. He took another sip of his drink.

"What made you want to be a Hunter?" He asked.
