Aboard the Shalharra Colonel Murray Wheeler was just finishing up the system checks, readying for the flight he and his crew were about to embark upon. Wearing his typical off-duty grey flight jacket, Murray could be seen as one handsome human devil, and could even pass as a Coruscanti. But that's because he was born Coruscant. He considers himself to be a part of the people of the planet Alsakan though, even having been raised by a Bothan. Well, enough about him.

Kyros, the aft-gunner, was nowhere to be found. Just, like, usual. That guy was always slacking off, but the reason why the Colonel liked him was because he was a damned good drinker, a decent shot too.

Jake, Colonel Wheeler wasn't sure where he was either, and the same goes for Arena. His crew was hardly ever crowding the cockpit all at once, Wheeler guessed it had something to do with their conflicting personality traits.

((I assume this is not concurrent with A Lasting Impression? If it is, I can't be in it. If it occurs after it, I can't be in it because my char has a good chance of dying in that thread. I can only be here if it occurs before the strike on Coruscant))

You could have PMed that query to me, but really, I don't care what time it takes place. I'm a little more laid back than that, so you can pick.

((oooooooooooo. I get to bend rules. I'm doing it on here so that anyone seeing this doesn't get confused with the time frame))

Arena brushed hair out of her face as she puddled about, doing nothing and trying to find more of it. She didn't feel like engaging in conversation, her only other option, so she stared at the wall, thinking, you could say telling stories, but it was just thinking on the downplays and trying to find out more ways to complete her espionage work.

She'd recently been thrown in with a bunch of men - fairly non... chivalrous... men, too, by the look of it. It was terribly annoying, sometimes. At any rate, upon feeling the ship warming up, she debated getting up. She didn't really feel like moving - well, she did, but her body definitely did not. Gah, sometimes she wished she had someone to bring stuff to her and to get her up, but she'd die of boredom if there were one, so...

She finally managed to push herself up as she walked into the cockpit, mostly to access the HoloNet, but she knew she'd inadvertently end up in a conversation with Morris, or whatever his name was.

Now surely one of the main reasons hyperspace travel was designed was because alternate forms of transportation were so damn uncomfortable, but nooooo we had to travel in this horrible bloody ship that creaked and banged and did a fair proportion of walloped.

Jake was going though this train of thought though because as very few people did he got sick as a Alsakan private after shore leave, something about the fact that they were drifting though space just didn't seem to agree with him and the sink in his quarters damn well knew about it.

He stumbled out of his quarters slowly swaying from side to side ever so slightly before he walked into the cockpit sprawling himself across a seat groaning oblivious to the fact there were other people around him.

"Hello Alannah," Murray said, greeting the only female on the ship as she entered the cockpit. Funny how people started arriving now as the Colonel had started readying the ship for take off. Though, he still didn't know where Kyros was...

"Jake, why were you sleeping in my ship while it was docked? We haven't even taken off yet. Do you have something to tell me?" That was certainly odd. Why had he been sleeping in the Shalharra?

Colonel Wheeler never looked at either of them, he was too focused on his task, like always! This was why he was a colonel in the Alsakan Union Military, because he was focused! Lifting up in the control yoke, the ship went up, up, and away! Out through the hangar of the floating city that was Xenvaer, the vessel shot off into the blackness of space. For the crew onboard, it would be a harrying experience, as the inertial compensators were not dialled to the correct setting... Every one but Murray (who was conveniently strapped in) would feel the gees.

He was still not entirely with it and it took a few moments for what his commander and good friend said to enter his brain and do a little dance inside, he kinda wished he hadn't worked out what he had said as his rather awful time keeping abilities were about to be braught to life.

"I got the time mixed up, I was here about 4 hours before you arrived so I....well I didn't know what to do....Sorry, must of dosed off"

He rubbed his eyes and tried to focus at the job in hand, he was determined to keep the idea of a swaying rumbling ship out of his mind, clear blue skies and lush meadows. That was all he would need to keep his head in check....he hoped

Unfortunately, Kyros was in the bathroom, waiting to remove last nights ‘party’ from his stomach. Never again will I drink this much, never. Were the only thoughts going through his minds as he prayed to Shalharrato make his pain and suffering go away. Yes! He could feel it start to rise and come out, it was almost to the spill point… Oh god no! The ship he was crouching in suddenly lurched, and accelerated beyond all normal thought. Kyros could feel the bile quiver in his throat and then plummet backwards, back down to his stomach. Screw this. Was all he could think, and unlocked the door and headed to the cockpit to give that idiot pilot Murray a piece of his mind; or something like that.

“Shalharra is a cruel mistress guys, don’t let anybody lie to you.” He said as he stumbled through the door, leaning on it once it closed behind him.

From her seat in the cockpit, she watched the others begin to commune when Wheeler suddenly decided to imitate the movement of a ship through an asteroid field at full speed. Choice words rose in her throat as she was jammed into the control panel's ridge in front of her, knocking all the wind out of her and almost making her lose her breakfast - she hadn't joined in last night's festivities for the simple reason that being tipsy woman among three tipsy men was a bad combination. She had enjoyed her breakfast - she didn't feel like making everyone else enjoy it, too.

Murray watched as everyone seemed to have trouble with the sudden lurching of the ship with a smile. Ah, crewmates, they always put a smile on your face! The Colonel punched in the coordinates for their destination and undid the straps that held him into the pilot's chair, he then got up and walked past Kyros as he entered the cockpit. "Sup Kyros," he said, giving him a high five, before the aft gunner even knew what was going on.

"Oh, oops." Murray Wheeler had forgotten something! He walked back to the control panel and clicked a button, initiating the hyperdrive. This time however, the inertial compentsator was dialled up to the correct setting, as the Colonel would need it to continue on his brisk walk to the bathroom. Giving everybody a wave, he headed out on his way.

“Very nice.” Kyros muttered under his breath, without knowing what exactly just happened. Glancing around the small cockpit he attempted to spy a chair that was vacant, and as luck would have it there was! Victory! No matter how small a win was, twas still a win. Flopping down, he let a satisfied smile hit his face as the events of the previous night flashed through his mind.

“So where are we heading anyways?” Kyros asked the remaining two people in the Cockpit with him.

Jake turned an unfortunate shade of green as the ship lurched forward, damn the man who came up with hyperspace travel, damn him to the depths of hell and fury, he took a breath and spoke rather quickly hoping not to projectile vomit everywhere.

"I don't know but I hope it's a really quick journey....."
