His mother had always warned him to never go down as deep as this when it came to the underworld of Coruscant but Crix had changed a lot since his mother had tried her best to instill such wisdom into him. Sure, it was still sound advice but he had long since learned skills that would help him survive down on such a level but, for the purposes of this mission of his, he was doing his best to ignore each and every trained instinct he had developed over his entire life. The words of wisdom from his mother forgotten for the moment and everything the Jedi had taught him about being stealthy thrown out the window as well and all because of one thing.

"Hi, yes, excuse me, I'm looking for the remains of the Blackend Jet Empire?"

The whole point was to stand out like a sore thumb and he thought he was managing to do so wonderfully, stopping random passersby in the street to ask them about if they knew of the location of the surviving barabels of the crime syndicate known as the Blackened Jet Empire. Terrible name, really, but he wasn't really great at naming things himself so he refused to judge.

Hell, he had even gone out of his way to dress up like a Jedi probably would do in one of the more popular holonet shows about their misadventures. Probably one of the ones where there were numerous, sexy, misunderstandings.

But, again, the point was to be very noticeable and look like he didn't know what he was doing. Spotting a young woman who looked to be trying to keep her head down, Crix moved a little closer.

"Excuse me, miss? Have you seen this gang sign?"
he asked, holding up a datapad with a spray-painted symbol for the BJE, "Really hoping I'll run into them soon, you know?"

K's adventures had brought her ever deeper into the underworld of the Coruscanti ecumenopolis, deeper even than a certain seafood restaurant on level 1313. Traveling on the surface meant police, curious strangers, and more unwelcome complications to the ronin's life. Up there she had to hide her saber under the hem of her robe, its fit awkward and most inconvenient for drawing quickly if she needed to. Down here nobody gave her a second glance.

Nobody gave her a second glance as her once proud robes grew dirty at the hem and dingy overall. Nobody gave a second glance to the dirty looking girl carrying a sword down this low. Nobody with good intentions anyways. It made it easy to pick out who was coming for you.

So it was with a curious glance that K watched the horned and robed zabrak approach, well... everyone.

Leaning against a wall next to a boarded up window, K watched cautiously as the young man approached her. He flashed a datapad in her eyes, a familiar symbol shining in her eyes. She had seen that gang sign, a few levels down from where they currently stood. She hadn't planned on going back down there.

"Are you suicidal?" She asked him bluntly in accented basic as she looked from his datapad to his eyes, trying to judge if there was any hint of madness or desperation that craved death.

Was he suicidal? No, he had gotten past the very limited time he had considered such thoughts some time ago now. His mother's recovery, his therapy and his own growth had meant that he had walked away from such terrible thoughts and hadn't looked back for years by this point. But, that wasn't really the point they were trying to make was it? They were really asking why he was doing his best to attract the absolute worst kind of attention.

The young woman he asked to look at his datapad didn't look like she was exactly doing so well herself but, then, most people this far down the numbers on Coruscant were rarely there for their health. He smirked ever so slightly and lowered the datapad slightly so that she would be able to see his good humour even if others couldn't.

"Nope."
he denied happily, making the P pop as he did so, "Very much prefer being alive and very much prefer it if the Barabel following me was able to gather the rest of his friends first."

Winking at her, his smirk grew a little bit as he eyed a reflection in some glass behind her. He moved his robes ever so slightly to show the hilts of his two lightsabers to her.

"... which he might have done but I'm going to want to make sure."
he muttered more seriously, "Any idea if there's any dead-end alleys around here? Want to get them to chase me before I turn the tables... lead the way and there's few hundred credits in it for you."
