Reports had been surfacing throughout the Sith Order that several artifacts associated with the Dark Side, even some believed to be at one time property of the Sith Order itself, had been showing up on planets for auction. Though at the time of the report no one in the Sith Order could pin pointe when a sell was taking place or what was being sold. After several lengthy investigations one such auction had been discovered and was being held by a Hutt. The Hutt claimed that the artifact was an ancient one that even himself had no clue or idea what it was. Since it was unknown, he filed it under Sith in hopes to up the asking price of the artifact and draw even more perspective buyers than usual. Though must of his buyers were not Sith but collectors and the like, he could start the bidding at any ridiculous price his greedy heart desired. However, this time the Sith were buyers and had dispatched a Sith Master and her Apprentice to retrieve the artifact....or steal it if the opportunity presented itself.
Sith Master Grima Volitu stalked back and forth on her ship, Anathema, formulating a plan in her head on how to proceed with the mission ahead. She was more than alittle angry at the mission for there was not much in the way of details, such as who or what her and her Apprentice would be facing. She knew that most collectors hired personal body guards and at times, employed bounty hunters. But they were not a problem. What concerned her was what were they getting themselves into? She hated dealing with the Hutts and the more she thought it about, that was the main problem; that and she felt she was going blind into this. One could never trust the Hutts and whatever this ancient artifact was, nobody knew; not even the Hutt selling it. He claimed it was Sith related and that was all it took for the Dark Council to get involved, having been thwarted on numerous attempts to retrieve other artifacts and such.
She had been told that she should try to obtain the artifact "legally" but if she could save the Dark Council credits, then she should simply take it for if it was truly a Sith artifact, then it was theirs by right. Of course, a Hutt was to stupid and greedy to grasp that concept and Grima had pleaded with the Dark Council to send Sith Assassins to kill the slug and take it but the Dark Council wanted a level headed Sith Master to deal with it. She was a Sith Sorceress and that gave her quite an advantage over the other buyers and truth be told, many of the other Sith. Some claimed they knew Sith Magick, but when faced with Grima and her Sith Magick; they paled in comparison.
The ship had been diverted to a landing platform on the planet of Toydarian, a recent property now owned by the Hutts after their take over during their rise to power. Grima alerted her Apprentice that it was time for them to go and after lowering the ramp on her ship, she ordered her pilot to remain vigilant and do not let anyone board her ship.
Once she was inside the docking bay, she was quickly approached by a service droid demanding payment for landing; the usual docking fee, which Grima grudgingly paid then was told after payment and giving her name to the droid, that accommodations had been made for her and her companion at one of the new hotel buildings.
