This is truly only an interest check and even if no one else is interested, I may still do this for fun alone, without the faction. However, I also wanted to let you guys know what I was thinking about.
In Star Wars the galaxy communication between planets uses the Holonet, a series of hyperspace transmitters that pick up signals from planets and transmits them through hyperspace faster than light, almost instantaneously. However this is a massive project and it was only just being finished by the Clone Wars. We are way before that, and most planets have to communicate via ships or via networks that are not connected to each other. That is where somewhat successful trader and full time meddler Poy'Bondara comes in on the retrofitted light Crusier, Kiax. Taking sponsorship from planets, groups, private shop owners that was to place adverts and donations from the public she is one of the only people currently placing transmitters in the Outer Rim. The Kiax is also the only ship, having been gutted and disarmed in favour of its own impressive transmitter array, broadcasting the news in as close to real time as can be managed. Quite often the Outer Rim Network is the only show in town for most planets other than their own local broadcasts.
Broadcasting recent events, music, bounty information, known pirate locations and missing people requests, she is far from popular in some parts of the galaxy. Made worse she also has no problem with broadcasting fleet moments in the hopes of saving the lives of those that have no part in wars. Most of this information is from the public, called into her own show. There are however also some freelance journalists that work to provide stories and do some fact checking. It also is an outlet for what some consider a freer outlet in the Inner Rim and Core compared to the Republic's own News services.
Through chance it has also become an engine for Sentientitarian aid, pooling donations and sending non-military aid to planets that need it when possible. Contracting ships and sometimes even smugglers as couriers, though it is careful to try to keep out of anything illegal.

So, what does this faction actually do?
Well we get to make some IC news broadcasts, maybe even host your own show if you wanted. A Bounty Hunters Half Hour sounds pretty cool to me, even if no one else. Call in, talk to an expert, are you new to the trade or looking to give some tips? What is the best ship to start out with T'bob?
Mostly is for a group, maybe a crew to RP with in a generally less aggressive setting. I am sure there will be some action once in a while though, more so for those that deliver aid or try and stick their reporting noses where they aren't wanted.
Maybe you just want to be part of the true news and away from the propaganda, (warning true news is subjective and fact checking is for dorks). Or you want to interview other characters, Senators, Jedi masters, soldiers after a battle, lots of stories out there.
And in the end, I sort of want to pretend to have a talk radio show, because it'd be fun, and I get to make up really cool adverts for in universe things.
"What Hutt could say no to an Omi-lux hoversled, only slightly used and in great shape. Only while stocks last at Floaties, Nar Shaddaa," "Warning Nar Shaddaa may be hazardous to your health, Omi-lux warranty void if carrying over three hundred kilograms in weight. No refunds available."
-----------------
Cool idea but I don't want to take part myself. Well, that's the beauty of it. You could just call in and have a chat, have a story the galaxy wants to know? Want to spread some lies about someone or something and hope you don't get caught out? Or maybe you just want to tune in and listen once in a while?
So honestly if I did this, would you care? Would you like to read of my version of Galactic events as they unfold (some based on the story line as it develops, some just stupidly inane)? Or would you make even like to take part, or have any thoughts?
Over to you listeners,
Edit: our first caller pointed out if I called it the Holonet Outer Rim Network, we get the the HORN, are you getting the HORN today listeners?
