Asdrubael has seen many a politician on television but none such interested him than the one of Hapes, Tan Prestor. Though, he was wary of Republic politics he was willing to step foot on alien lands if it served his goals. Tan was bold, ambitious, and not a complete idiot - traits he has come to admire. Sadly, things were so much different here than it was on Asharte. Politicians rarely had to interact with one another and where certainly not elected. The ability to lead was something you're born with, Asdrubael thought to himself as he touched down on Hapes. It seemed as though the planet served as an antithesis to his own homeworld. Large bodies of water, huge mountain ranges and lush forests all of which Asharte had none.

While Lionidas was working with the Wandering Mauraders, Perseus accompanied him on the planet. Asdrubael wore make-up to hide his mutation and asked to meet in a secluded restaurant where they would not be bothered. He left his companion on the ship as he made his way to the restaurant. Wearing his loosely fitted toga and leather sandals he took a taxi to where they would be meeting.

The restaurant was a small diner carved on the side of a mountain. Far from the masses of sheep below. There were two old men outside enjoying a cigar as he entered the diner when was greeted by a petite hapan woman who seated him by the window. The diner's wooden floors and modest decorations made it feel as though he would be eating in a shack. "Is there anything I can get you sir?" The waitress asked. No, Asdrubael thought but instead deciding to order something "I'd like a cup of coffee. That is all for now." The waitress simply nodded her head and walked into the kitchen. Asdrubael crossed his fingers and looked out the window to his right as he waited for the man, his long black hair draping over his shoulder.

Wearing a simple grey suit, without a tie, beneath which could be found an armor-weave underlay, Senator Tan Prestor made his way to the meeting in a motorcade made up of five speeders. Already sat at the cafe could be found two plain clothes Hapian Security Members - part of his own detail - whilst in each speeder could be found two men in each. Getting out of his speeder, he felt the heft of the shoulder-holstered blaster he had equipped himself with, and nodded to his detail, who fanned out taking up positions by the speeders, and within range and distance of the meeting place.

Prestor of course, approached alone, the nearest guard some 10 feet away from his table, bar the under-cover ones on the table across from them. He didn't extend a hand, instead offering a polite smile. ''Senator Tan Prestor - let's get down to business shall we?'' he said quickly, as he took a seat, ordering a simple glass of water from the passing waiting staff. He was cautious, naturally, but also optimistic, that maybe a business deal could be made today.

"Yes, of course." Asdrubael smiled as the waitress bought back his coffee. "I am Asdrubael Troy, an Asharte prince and I represent the Steeleye Brethren a coalition of warriors dedicated to stopping a band of pirates and slavers known as the Wandering Marauders in the Outer Rim. This you may already know." he said softly so that others cannot overhear their conversation. As he began unloading packets of sugar into his coffee he continued, "But what you may not know is that Asharte is a bastion of free labor and many of the skyscrapers and apartments in my city are left vacant. I am willing to sell you labor and housing in exchange for weapons and ships to combat the Marauders."

He would tell him that the Marauders and the Steeleye Brethren where one in the same, but he couldn't fully trust him yet. He placed his offer on the table, now it was time to see his.

Watching the Asharte Prince as he placed large amounts of Sugar into his coffee, Tan Prestor found himself offering a small smirk at the concept of 'free labor' - which was another way of saying slavery. It amused him that the man thought that he would break the most sacred law in the Republic so that he could give some Pirates a few ships - no, that was far to great a risk, for next to no reward. Senator Prestor desired something far more valuable - information, and power. One could not just hand over war materiel to an unknown group in return for slaves and real estate - such an act was tragically unsubtle.

''That seems a little brash Mr Troy, something that is far to risky and direct for even me.'' he offered by way of reply before pitching an alternate idea ''A significantly more rewarding concept would be that I provide you on a case-by-case basis with the locations and timings of key targets for you, in return you provide me with a 'live stream' of your movements, strictly between us of course, which would allow me to ensure my, 'business partners', would not be targeted by your operations?'' he stated.

Such an arrangement would secure an income for Prestor, as he traded his information to his business partners, but would also provide the pirates with information to allow them rich pickings, once Senator Prestor had notified them of the time and location.

Interesting. It would seem as though he already knew that the Steeleye and the Marauders where one in the same at this point. He guessed it was obvious to anyone paying attention. To which he assumed most people safe within the borders of the Republic didn't care about happenings on the outer-rim to put the two together. Asdrubael took a sip of his coffee before raising an eyebrow at the senators offer. Far less expensive than what he originally planned that's for sure.

"Agreed. As long as you provide the locations of targets that are profitable to our organization then you can ensure that your business partners are not harmed by our operations. As long as this 'live-stream' stays between the two of us then we are at an accord." he stated, "But it is not within our interest for Republic entities such as the Sector Rangers to impede our progress. Will this 'live stream' ensure that my associates are protected from Republic scrutiny?"

This meeting had gotten sweeter by the second, but there were many unknown forces working against him and having extra eyes in the Republic would prove invaluable.

Prestor leaned back in his chair a bit as the man responded to his pitch. There was a snag of interest there, and it pleased him. Tan Prestor - Senator for the Hapes Consortium - it appeared had made a deal. He frowned a bit however when the man mentioned protection from the Sector Rangers, something that would be a little harder for him to do, and would require work on both ends of the bargain. ''The information will be transmitted through one of the many planets in the Consortium, as that was I can write it off as a piracy or smuggling groups, and thus redirect the attention elsewhere.'' he responded, ensuring that the man understood how the transaction of information would take place before he continued.

''As far as the Rangers go, let me be more clear. There are two elements to the deal, firstly: Tip-Offs, which will be on a case-by-case basis, with me or my staff informing you of the attacks and locations. Secondly: Data-Stream. This will be two ways, you informing me of all your movements, and me informing you of the deployments of Sector Rangers.'' he said, adding to the deal - which now provided information on the Rangers.

Before responding, Troy mulled over what he was getting from the deal. Case-by-case information on impeding attacks from the Sector Rangers and profitable targets for the Pact to pillage in exchange for staying clear of his business associates. All seemed well in the slaver's head but a little to good to be true. Worst case scenario it could be a trap, or more likely him trying to get Asdrubael to do his dirty work. "Thank you for your time Mr. Prestor. Our combined cooperation heralds the start of a mutually profitable relationship." he said with a breath of gratitude.

"This contains the code necessary for you and me to speak via holocom. It sends straight to the bridge of my frigate." he said before casually reaching into his toga, grabbing a datapad and sliding it across the table before continuing "Now is there anything I can do for you?"

The Senator was not going to lie to himself, and therefore considered the deal in its entirety before speaking again. After a short while, he had concluded that it was one that filled all of his requirements and desired - and that he was therefore pleased with the arrangement that had been reached. Securing the live-stream of Data from the Pirates would be of great use to the Senator, and as such we was more than pleased to have to impart information on some of his rivals shipping locations and deals. Taking the communication data, as well as imparting his own to the man - which would allow him to contact a member of the Senators Hapian Staff whom (at least on record) the Senator could appear to have little or no frequent dealings with, thus improving the Senators own safety should this information leak.

''I feel that this concludes our business.'' he began, before considering his course of action ''You will have your first co-ordinates soon, and of course, this meeting never took place.'' he stated clearly before standing and nodding to the man - as a show of respect - before heading to his speeder to leave. In a short while, maybe a week or so away, the an would recieve an encrypted communique through the channels they had discussed, and their work could begin.

He would soon be leaving Hapes, to return to the Core - wherein the real work could commence.

OOC: I would suggest we use this thread as the communications thread?

2 weeks later

Asdrubael Troy sat on the bridge of his corvette, The Low of Solipsism, a vessel that reeked of the dark side as if he came from a portal of hell itself. The sound of muffled screams filled the ship as his warriors enjoyed the fruits of their labor. The room was completely dark with the only thing lighting the room were the stars and the flickering computer screens. As the Prince sat on his throne looking upon the stars he felt it was time to have a discussion with one of Tan's pawns. He ordered everyone out of the room before turning on the large holocommunicator. As soon as the holographic image of one of his representatives appeared before him, he would begin, "We have plans on the Atravis system on the worlds of Mustafar and Shumavar. You have gift for me?"

We want your RP to be a pleasurable experience, but not at the expense of circumventing the rules of the game.

Lock, per my post here.
