Not quite an adult
Yet not quite a child.
Not meant to be shy.
But daring and wild.

We make our own choices.
And we'll learn from them well.
Parents are just to guide us.
Not there to yell.

We'll have our late nights
And we'll come home on a high.
We'll drink till we're sick.
And will live till we die.

Excerpt by Jessica Nash

IDENTIFICATION PROFILE
- Psychological; Fun-loving, adventurous, and impetuous; Daria is a typical teenager. She seeks to be at the pinnacle of the social ladder in whatever group she becomes associated with. She is the kind of person that pushes at the boundaries of the rules; searching to find the limits of what she can do, while still technically following the rules. Daria hates having to sit in boring classrooms, preferring to learn her lessons, through trial and error, in the field. And while she would much rather have a good time, she has just enough ambition and responsibility to put in the necessary work to become a Jedi.

Due to her history, the impulsive teen is a kleptomaniac; always taking something from every environment that she is in. She doesn’t have malicious intent when she takes item. In fact; she will return the object immediately if she catches herself or if caught by someone else.

- Physiological; Daria is a fit and curvaceous teen, who works hard to keep herself in good shape. Growing up on the streets of Tatooine, the teen has become a competent brawler. Her strength, agility, and endurance are capable enough for her to come out on top of most fights, but it’s her connection with the Force that gives her a true edge. With dark brown hair and brown eyes, there is nothing in particular that stands out about the young woman, but she is considered attractive by most galactic standards.

INSIGHT TO ASPIRATIONS
- The Faction; Though Daria has obviously grown into a different woman, than the one she would have been, if she hadn’t been separated from the Jedi, she still searches diligently for the Jedi Order. She obviously found a new “family” in Mos Entha on Tatooine, but she feels that the Jedi are where she truly belongs; though she couldn’t, for the life of her, tell you why. She feels that the Jedi must become individually tougher, in order to become more resilient as a group.

- The Force; Daria has a stronger connection with the Force than she openly admits. She would much rather rely on “real world” skills, than to be dependant on the one thing that causes so many to hunt her down. Though she continues to try to develop the skills that she learned as a Youngling, her natural affinity in sensing, precognition, and psychometry seem to be making their way to the forefront of her awareness.

Daria is a blank slate, as far as Force abilities go, and is looking to learn more about the power that moves everyone to fear the Jedi and Sith.

- The Life; Daria wants nothing more than to enjoy life while she is young. Her immediate goals are to find the Jedi Order, and learn to control the Force, so that she can protect the galaxy from the Sith monstrosities that now infest it.

RELATIONSHIPS
- None

POSSESSIONS LIST
- Lightsaber; A training lightaber that was designed for her eight year old hands. It’s too small and weak for her to actually use, but she keeps it as a memento.

- Throwing Daggers; She owns 20 durasteel throwing knives that she keeps well oiled and extremely sharp. The young woman keeps 5 of the knives on her right thigh at all times.

- Black Body Armor; Daria wears a simple armorweave armor that protects her from bladed weapons and small energy weapons (such as holdout blasters). It is more fashionable than functional; but hay, what use is protection if you don’t look good in it?

- Clawed Gauntlets; A set of armored gauntlets that end in sharp, dangerous claws at the end of each finger. They were designed to mimic the claws of the monstrous Sith that she escaped at age eight.

- Vibro Sword; A standard Vibro-Sword that Daria uses for close encounters. She adapts aspects of Shii Cho when using the blade.

- P-710 Heavy Blaster; A blaster Daria uses for extended ranged combat.

- Smoke Pellets; Quite a large supply, used for cover and quick escapes.

- Grenades; two standard military grade grenades that Daria has attached to her utility belt; In case of emergency.

- Lock Pick Kit; Used to gain entrance into both mechanical and electronic locking mechanisms.

- Ladder-in-a-Tube; For easy access and escapes.

-Mandovial; To accompany her with her singing.

PROGRESSION LOG

1005 ABY – Decisions –

Two figures sat in a small, dark room; their silhouettes embellished by the orange glow of a single fading candle. A man with salt-and-peppered hair sat slumped over with a small com device in his hand. Across from him was a dark-haired woman, who stared at the man with a look of confusion and terror on her face.

”But you’re the most well-known politician on Bastion.” the female figure spoke; her voice in a low, quivering whisper.

”I know, Ta, but the Sith don’t respect political clout. If she stays, they’ll take her.” the man responded in a similar hushed voice.

”No. Not my baby, Roan. I’ll die before I let them take my little girl.” she responded, her voice cracking into normal ranges a couple of times.

”Shh! Shh! I know, sweetheart, that’s why we have to get her out of here.” he interrupted.

”But you want to send her to the Jedi, Roan? The Jedi?!” the woman hissed.

”Where would you have me send her, Talia?!” Roan snapped, his voice rising to more audible levels. The man removed an expensive silk handkerchief from the breast pocket of his suit, and wiped his brow. He seemed rather embarrassed about his outburst. Shoving his handkerchief back into his pocket, he leand in closer to Talia. ”I don’t like it any more than you do. The Jedi don’t respect the Empire, and would destroy it; given half the chance. This isn’t about what we want. This is about what’s best for Daria; our little girl.”

Tears streamed down the woman’s faces, as she cupped her face in her hands. The man placed a comforting hand on Talia’s shoulder, before kissing the woman gently on the top the head. Roan stood and moved to the other side of the room. He stared down over the edge of a fancy crib at a little dark-haired girl – that couldn’t have been much over the age of one. Straightening his suit the man tried to steel himself; trying hard to conceal any emotion that he may have been feeling. Though face was stoic and unmoving, a single tear escaped; tracing a salty path down his cheek.

1012 ABY – Opportunity Lost –

Two small girls sat in passenger seats of the small civilian transport craft; their harnesses keeping them nestled securely in place. They wore light tan, lose-fitting shirts and pants with a brown sash around their waists; to keep it all in place. They both had small cylindrical objects clipped to their belts and multitudes of datapads shoved into the seat pockets in front of them. Eight other children, similarly dressed, also took their seats onboard the ship. The last to take their seats on the transport were two, more apparent, Jedi. One was a young man, probably in his mid-teens, and the other was an ancient looking man that the girls placed somewhere in his thirties.
”What’s going on? Where do you think they’re taking us?” the darker-haired girl, Daria, spoke up.

Looking about, the other Younglings looked just as scared and confused. Even the handsome young Padawan looked sort of uneasy with the situation. The blonde-haired girl next to Daria shrugged before she answered.

“Jay said we’re the one’s that failed, and they’re taking us to some agro-planet. Mia said the Galactic Alliance is exiling the whole Jedi Order to Tython. I also heard the Grand Master foresaw Coruscant exploding, so they’re secretly evacuating all the Jedi.” She answered.

”That’s terrible!” Daria interjected. ”What about all the other innocent people?”

The blonde-haired girl shrugged once more, and turned to glance out of the shuttle window. Daria did the same; looking at all of the people hustling around the massive hanger bay, trying to get the ships prepared for take-off. There were at least ten shuttlecrafts that Daria had counted; each stuffed with ten Younglings and two chaperones. That was one hundred Younglings in this hanger alone.

“I heard the one,” the blonde began, pointing at the elder Jedi. “talking with Master Veela. They said something about preparing for all out war; something about the Imperium coming to the Galactic Core.”

”Nahla?! You don’t believe that do you?” gasped Daria, as she considered those that were being loaded and carted away from Coruscant. It made total sense. The two girls looked at each other with a hint of fear behind their gazes. Their two tiny hands interlocked and their heads rested against each other.

“No matter what happens, we’ll always be best friends, Daria. And that’s all we need.” Nahla responded, with a forced smile.

The roar form the shuttle’s powerful engines reverberated throughout the cabin. The children’s heads snapped back with the rapid acceleration of the craft. Over the deafening noise of the engines a loud boom was heard, then another… then another. Daria once again looked through the shuttle window. The front half of a shuttle, identical to theirs, careened past the window in an odd trajectory, before ricocheting wildly throughout the hanger bay. Flames crept up on her shuttle; threatening to engulf it in insurmountable heat and destruction. The ship continued its acceleration, barely making it free from the fiery deathtrap of the Spaceport. Though she had to strain, she could hear the pilot’s excited chatter from the cockpit. Of the ten shuttles in line for take-off, only four had survived.

The two Jedi rushed to the pilot’s compartment to see if they could be of assistance, and ascertain exactly what had gone wrong. As the ships rocketed from the grip of Coruscant’s gravitational pull, the pilot and navigator made several checks for coordinates and vectors. They then urge the Jedi to return to their seats. There was nothing that the Jedi could do, and that they were in further danger by remaining unharnessed. The Knight and his Padawan returned to their seats, and within minutes the shuttlecraft leapt into hyperspace.

The craft remained in hyperspace for several hours, before dropping out. ”First jump complete.” the pilot called out over the intercom. Suddenly the ship’s lights turned red, and earsplitting alarms began to sound. ”I don’t know where they came from! How’d they find out?” the captain shouted, before realizing the intercom system was still activate.

Daria and Nahla stared through the window; their grip on each other’s hands tightening, as horror crept across the young girls’ faces. A dozen, or so, Imperial ships sat; waiting for the small shuttle to exit hyperspace. The smaller ships swooped in; their laser fire rocking the shuttle violently, as they pounded the ship’s shields. Suddenly the ships and stars blurred, as if water had been pour onto freshly painted watercolors. Her shuttle was once again in hyperspace. This time the ship made several smaller jumps, before settling into a more substantial travel lane.

After what seemed like days of travelling; the Jedi Master keeping the children entertained with sing-a-longs, games and lessons, they finally arrived at their destination. Daria instantly recognized the tan colored orb that spun outside the ships window. If anyone knew any planet, which was not their own, by sight, it was Tatooine. She huffed and folded her arms.

”Guess we got the short end of the stick.” she complained to Nahla, who nodded in agreement.

The shuttlecraft sailed through the planet’s atmosphere, only slowing down when it reached a sandy starport in some town whose name most likely began with Mos. It wasn’t as if the inhabitants of Tatooine were the most creative sort in the galaxy. Either that or they had some deep seeded ritualistic fear that: if their town or city didn’t have Mos in the title, then it would be summarily swallowed up by a giant Sarlacc.

The shuttle set down in a large open-aired landing area; large enough for a Corvette to nestle safely in. When the hatch opened, the Jedi quickly ushered the Younglings out of the ship. The Knight stood outside, collecting the children as they exited, while the Padawan guided them safely out of the door. Daria and Nahla were one of the first to exit; gathering behind the Jedi Knight, as he monitored their departure.

Only six of the Younglings had made it out of the vessel when the Jedi Knight reacted quickly. A green bolt of energy pierced the center of the shuttle, hitting a charged power coil. Flames shot all around them, as the shuttle exploded. Heavy chunks of metal ricocheted off of some invisible force field that seemed to surround them. Daria and the five remaining kids all dropped to the ground, screaming and shielding their heads from what looked like impending doom. Though the fire remained at a safe distance away, she could still feel the intense heat from the blast.

”Run!” the Knight commanded, as his brilliant green lightsaber sprung to life.

A ship that reminded Daria of a large, black bird of prey descended upon their position; taking its perch next to the destroyed shuttlecraft. She and the other Younglings, being naturally curious and late to respond to anything, stared in terror as an immense figure emerged from bestial ship. Its narrow eyes were a frightening combination of gold and red and looked as though they could gaze into the very soul of anything they looked upon. Its skin was malformed and gray with a tuft of hair sprouting forth from the top of its head. Its torso was armored like a Krayt Dragon’s and his hands formed into claws.

”Go kids! Now!!” the Jedi ordered again.

The evil creature roared in response, and a red beam sprung forth from its clawed hand. Daria and the children screamed. She grabbed Nahla’s hand and they both bolted for the landing area’s exit. As they darted through the terminal, she lost sight of where the other Younglings went. Her only concern at the moment was getting her and Nahla as far away from the beast as possible. She charged through the sandy streets of Mos – whatever it was called – and found a narrow alleyway for the two to duck into. Tucked away safely behind a pile of debris that could have been a speeder, or Moisture Vaporator, or something… she couldn’t tell – they turned and looked at each other.

”What the heck was that thing?” Daria asked; her eyes even larger than normal. Her heart was pounding furiously in her chest, and she was breathing heavily.

”It must have been a Sith.” Nahla responded, breathing just as heavily.

”My Force! Is that what you turn into if you go down the Dark Path?” Daria said looking down at the training lightaber that hung on her belt.

“When Mia said that Sith were monsters, I didn’t think she meant actual monsters” Nahla began. “Did you see the claws o_____” the blonde-haired girl went silent, and then the top half of her torso surged forward without the rest of her. With her best friend’s body no longer blocking her view, Daria saw the monstrous behemoth behind Nahla’s bisected body.

”Nahla!!_____” she screamed, but she was cut off by the skillful swing of the beasts red lightsaber.

Daria quickly rolled onto her back to avoid the powerful slash. She immediately placed her feet on the Sith’s forearm, to prevent the dangerous weapon from coming back for a return pass, and pushed with all of her might. She had hoped this would push the Sith’s weapon arm into a more awkward position, however it merely propelled the diminutive girl across the sandy ground. Her head collided with a metal grate, along the side of building, bending it out of shape enough for the panel to fall down the shaft that it was meant to protect. Losing her balance, and her consciousness, Daria’s limp body slid down the long metal shaft. She could hear the monster roaring in anger, as everything went black around her.

When the Youngling came to, she was lying face up in sewage; a unique combination of water, garbage, and sentient waste. After spending hours travelling through the town’s sewage system, Daria finally emerged; tired, hungry, and smelly. With everything that she had, stripped from her, and being unable to convince anyone to contact the Jedi for her, Daria became a street rat; robbing and scamming vendors and strangers to survive.

1020 ABY – Family Found –

A group of five people sat around a large dingy room. A single dim light struggled diligently to illuminate the facility, but its struggles were in vain. A dark-haired girl in her teens fiddled with the pendant that she wore around her neck. It was fancy, yet tasteful, and had a large expensive red gem at its center. It was an item that held a special significance for the girl, but she would never divulge to anyone why.

”You guys need to start pulling your weight around here.” a suave man with a goatee and his face buried in a datapad announced to the room. ”Dee’s the only one pulling in enough to keep us fed.”

The dark haired girl smiled; her gaze still transfixed on the pendant. A couple of the men looked between each other indignantly, before turning their angry glares toward her. Fed up, one of the men stood and slammed his hands on the table. He was a rotund man, who was probably skewing the cost of living by about 3 people; based on his size alone.

”That ain’t fair! She does things that no human can do. The girl ain’t normal.” the man protested, as he pointed at her.

”Woman.” she corrected, never looking from her necklace.

”Huh?” he responded to the interruption, with a confused look on his face.

”Woman. I’m 16 years old. I’m a woman now.” said Daria in a louder and more clear voice. ”And it’s not magic. It’s training. If you spent more time practicing…” she said, letting the sentence linger and allowing them to finish it in their own manner.

She knew she was lying. Her actions had been fueled by the Force, allowing her to do things that she would normally be unable to do. Still… It wasn’t right for him to be angry with her because he could do what he couldn’t. The plump man circled around a table to close on the young woman, but was interrupted by the man who spoke before.

”Alright. Alright, you two, we’re going to need all hands on deck in order to get out next score; so, no in-fighting. I need everyone healthy and ready to go.” He interjected.

The large man reluctantly moved back around to his place at the table and plopped down. Daria’s left hand moved back to assist her right with fidgeting with her pendant. It had spent a good portion of the last part of the interaction, fingering one of the throwing knives that were attached to her thigh. Normally their little family spats didn’t turn violent, but it never hurt to be prepared.

I want to thank Lamper and his Jamie Truitt template an awesome rendition of Saul's amazing character template.

You guys are the best!!!

I still want to clean up the bio a little bit, but I think this should be good enough for now (to start playing her).

This profile is brilliant. I love your character and I'd love for Marrab to meet her. I think I'll go read some more of your characters now. And Marrab always wanted to visit Tatooine. Just saying. :P

Profile looks great! I have a Padawan as well and he and Daria seem like total opposites. It'd be cool to see how'd they interact with each other

Oooh, now that would be something wouldn't it. I believe we may have something to talk about in the very near future here.

But it's alright, not like you could have known anyway. Not a big deal. :mongo:
