When Elidan saw the crime scene, he immediately thought that perhaps he wasn’t going to be fine as he had said. There were parts of bodies spread across the street, in positions that seemed too perfect to be aleatory. The half-Annfyn never saw any animal do something like that before.
It could only be a serial killer.
However, this conclusion didn’t suit the scene either. The way that the bodies were torn required a lot of strength and the cuts, while clean, were so huge that it required a chainsaw to make it. If it was a person, then they needed to be very strong and fast to do all this damage without attracting attention.
Besides the grotesque scene, the smell was terrible. Like Vanya, Elidan covered his nose with the sleeve of his tunic. When you work as a healer, you have to deal with the smell of blood and sometimes with that of bodies decomposing. However, the half-Annfyn never experienced a smell so strong like that.
“I had no idea that it was that bad.” Elidan said, his voice half-muffled because of his sleeve still covering nose. “No animal would do something like that. Do you see how the members are grouped nearly together? Arms with arms, legs with legs and so on. Even internal organs are in this way.” it only made the scene even more bizarre. “Whatever did it was sentient.”
“If it was a person, then they moved really fast to do all that without alerting anyone. They would need to be a monster to do something like that and…” he paused, feeling a deadly realization hit him. Elidan turned to look at Vanya. “Do you think that it could be one of Raze’s creations?”
