BIOGRAPHY
Born the son of a raider and bounty hunter, Dalyn Solus was raised in a house that emphasized tradition. From the time he could stand he was trained to fight with any hesitation or sign of weakness earning him a harsh punishment. At the age of nine he was sent into the woods to befriend a symbol of his Clan, the tenaciously violent dire badger. Emerging from the woods weeks later with several new scars to call his own and an inquisitive and protective beast trotting at his side, his father's only response was a gruff reminder that he had tamed his own companion in a matter of days.
At the age of thirteen he went through his verd'goten. Alone aboard his mother's old freighter, Dalyn engaged in a solo hunt wielding only a beskad across three worlds for a trophy from dangerous beasts; a katarn in the tall boughs of Kashyyyk, a Drexl on the plains of Onderon, and an Acklay along the coastal shores of Vendaxa. Returning home with a fang from each beast dangling around his neck, he was handed a pair of blasters and given his final task; hunting a murderer, wanted by the Hutts, hiding out in the slums of Nar Shaddaa. A month later he returned to the family homestead, carrying a blood-encrusted power hammer in one hand and a case filled with credits in the other.
The twelve years that followed were spent on the move, sometimes at his Father's side and other times on his own; the two Mandalorians leaving home during the growing season to hunt bounties across the galaxy and returning home to help Dalyn's mother bring in the harvest and plant new crops. It was an exciting life filled with danger and beautiful women and exotic locales... and then Dalyn heard the news from Mediraas. The planet had been glassed, and his father with it.
Returning to the Clan lands at the behest of the new Alor, war drums pounding in his head and heart, Dalyn Solus swore allegiance to Raz Solus and joined his vode in bringing war to the Sith.
PERSONALITY AND TRAITS
Flirtatious, dashing, reckless, and possessing an insatiable thirst for drink, t'bac, women, and glory. Were someone to ask Dalyn Solus what he thought of himself, he would most likely just gesture up and down his own body as if to say, "Do you really need to ask?"
Dalyn is a very sarcastic individual, known to direct ribald comments and jokes to his fellow warriors off and on the battlefield. Though he often appears to not be taking a fight seriously, it is only another mask for the Mandalorian; he has a singular focus on doing the best he can on the battlefield to claim vengeance against the Sith for the death of his Father and the slow death they have tried to impose on his people. Beneath the veneer of jocularity is a man consumed by baatir, care for his comrades. That care has been known to get Dalyn into trouble, as he often recklessly throws himself into harm's way in the hope of protecting his vode, but has also led to his interest in learning the skills of a battlefield medic.
When not engaged in a fight, he can usually be found in one of three places; volunteering in the healing hall doing what he can to help the doctors and physicians while learning treat wounded vode, in a bar playing his bes'bev or drum and singing to entertain and lift the spirits of his comrades, or training in the proving grounds.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Dalyn is a skilled fighter, having been trained by his father since he could stand the art of war. Favoring the blaster pistol for it's a freer range of movement over a heavier rifle, he is steadily working towards becoming an expert marksman with his pistols. He also wields a Power Hammer with a customized grip, turning the mining equipment into an effective one-handed Warhammer, and his Fathers' beskad.
The Mandalorian is a talented singer and musician and is most often seen by his fellow clan members in the many bars off-duty Mandalorians seek refuge in, singing and playing music for a few hours in exchange for nothing but a glass of tihaar or a warm meal.
Dalyn is an artist with heavy ordinance, crafting homemade bombs and using them to dazzling effect on the battlefield, or using prefabricated explosives to decimate enemy lines and equipment. Many of the vode joke that he has an inherent gift to see where a hurled grenade or launched missile will cause the most effective carnage.
Dalyn is something of an adrenaline junkie, always seeking out new and exciting ways to flash his thrusters in the face of Death. He is a gifted pilot in the cockpit of a snubfighter or at the controls of a freighter, though his first love will always be the racing swoop bikes he rode across Concord Dawn in his teenage years.
