Who the bloody hell was Vargas and why was she his contact?

Lucian didn't know.

All he knew was that he was here to meet with someone who worked for the Republic in some way, someone who could assist in his efforts to take down a small gang who were known to run spice into Cartel territory, acting as a stopping point between Ryloth and regular Hutt Territory.

There were more than a few of them so he had agreed to some Republic back up and waited for them at the edge of Mos Eisley.

God he hoped that they would show up soon because this heat? He was already sick to death of it.

Cassia Vargas was about to finally have her long awaited dream of meeting a Jedi again accomplished, and the look of pure joy on her face almost looking cartoonist as she excitedly ran through alleyways of mos eisley. When she finally arrived at the edge of the wall she quickly and hurriedly began running the length of the wall until she finally found someone she could feel a force signature emanating from.

When she arrived she was decidedly out of breath and had to take a few moments to compose herself, periodically taking a second to stare at the decidedly handsome Jedi, blinking hard at him like he would disappear if she did so for too long.

Whew. You.. your a.. Jedi huh?

Feeling someone approaching in the Force tended to be something of a chore if they were hiding their Force signature... but when they were just flaring it around it was rather obvious. And by obvious he meant obvious to the point of almost being obnoxious. But he wasn't going to say that!

He was more of a gentleman than that after all.

When she arrived he merely raised an eyebrow at her appearance before smiling a little bit. Lucian wasn't a snob - he was more than happy to accept any kind of help that was on offer. As she spoke, he did find himself becoming a little bit more amused. He decided he was going to humour her however.

"Yes, I am a Jedi Knight." he agreed before nodding to her, "And you must be Vargas - am I right?"

He held out a hand for her to shake,

"A pleasure to meet you." He grinned slightly more, "I hope you're ready for a fight... the gang is going to be coming down this way in a few minutes. You okay fighting close quarters?"

She had best be since the eight members of the gang were approaching now.

Cassia nodded her head enthusiastically, smiling brightly at the Jedi as he confirmed he was who she was looking for. She grasped his hand as he offered it and shook it with a similar level of enthusiasm, before he pointed out the fact that they were here for a job.

One of her cousins she still talked to in the tribe had tipped her off to the location of some pirates after they had unsuccessfully tried a raid on them. She told the senator who arranged for her to be here, with the aid of a Jedi no less. Shed have to give him a huge thank you When She got back.

Yes sir! I actually prefer it!

She said with quite the contrasting innocence to her voice and firey look on her face. She pulled her staff off her back and kept as it was for now, as her left hand sank to her pouch on her hip, pulling out three ball bearing to quickly hurl at the 8 pirates closing in on them.

She hurled the three small metal objects through the air as hard as she could, but given the distance, only one of them actually struck true, hitting one of the pirates in the center of his face and knocking him out. The others she threw missed completely, but one out of three wasn't bad. She kept her staff up in a defensive position as the group now approached just ever slightly more cautiously, now about 20 meters away.

Well I got one right? Next time imma get them all just you watch!

She was... a ball of energy, wasn't she? He wouldn't be surprised to find that she was this level of energetic all the time, especially considering the Jedi Order had been given a warning with this mission. They had specifically been told to find a Jedi who was actually rather patient. Now aside from being slightly insulting that they thought that some Jedi would not be patient, Lucian had thought they were being a tad dramatic.

But seeing her now?

Yes, he could understand why patience would be considered a virtue when working with her. But she wasn't that bad he thought - she was actually rather fun.

"Well alright, you get the drop on them now and I'll get myself ready for the next strike."

As she attacked, Lucian focused all of his efforts on the Force. He didn't focus on anything else and it was lucky for him that he had a partner with him who grabbed all of the attention because he wasn't paying attention to anything else, nothing but the Force and the power he was channelling. Once it was ready, Lucian stepped up in front of Vargas and threw his hands out ahead of him, palms outward, as he thrust forward with the Force.

A scything blow of the Force rocketed from his palms, slamming into six of the remaining seven pirates. One managed to reflexively duck down. The remaining six however, took the full force of his attack across their chests, breaking ribs and sending them all flying backwards where none of them got back to their feet.

Lucian himself slumped against the nearby alley wall, seeing spots from using so much Force.

"Saved... saved one for you..."

Well if she hadn't been star struck by the Jedi before his dusplay, she certainly was after. Unfortanetly she didn't have time to celebrate, or even mentally process what was happening. As the Jedi was slumping to the ground exhausted, the remaining pirate seemed to have had enough of being attacked by force welders with crazy techniques.

Pulling a rocket launcher from his back, Cassia got quite the sobering look on her face as she was already moving towards the Jedi. She didn't have time to even congratulate him, or thank him for saving her one. All she had time to do was grab him and move. Which was exactly what she was doing.

It didn't matter very much though, considering the weapon being used, she knew a bit of luck would be needed more than likely as she pumped her legs harder than she ever had in her life. Grabbing the Jedi and yanking him onto her shoulder as she ran. The explosion of the rocket firing quickly sent a chill down her spine as she pushed the force through her body one more time to get more speed.

The explosion sent her tumbling, but thankfully with her quick reflexes she and the Jedi both would get away with light cuts and bruises, and she was pretty sure she had in fact gotten pretty lucky that time around. Shed have to be more careful on the future she thought to herself.

Lucian was, in a word, done.

He had thrown about the Force with more power and precision than he had ever managed to do before in combat and it had left him tired and drained. And yet here they were in a fight for their lives against a pirate who, from somewhere, seemed to have found a Force-damned rocket launcher.

He could really do without this.

He didn't get much say in the matter but he was hoisted up by his ally and suddenly he was moving... which he didn't have any issues with considering not moving would have seen them getting hit by the explosion. Instead, they were battered and bruised and scraped... but they were alive and intact.

Taking a deep breath, Lucian reached out with the Force again. Honestly? It felt like trying to hold water in his hands - it just fell straight through. Gritting his teeth, he kept pushing until his head started to hurt and he forced the Force to obey him. The pirate swore loudly as his left leg folded out under him, bringing him down onto one knee but otherwise not hurting him at all.

It was virtually nothing - but it was all Lucian could do right now.

Cassia didn't have time to notice what the Jedi was doing, she could just hope he was also helping to bring down this last threat. She got up and continued running, hooking the nearest corner and sneaking back around the exterior wall. Thanks to the explosion from the rocket, her movements were more or less concealed, and she was pretty thankful they were on a desert planet for once.

Rounding the corner after traveling down the wall a few meters she saw the last remaining pirate suddenly drop to one knee before realizing that this was her chance to strike. Staff still in hand she ran for all she was worth. Charging the man in a last attempt to end the fight before it got even more messy. He had a look of anger and surprise on his face as she got almost in his face. Bringing the staff up and swinging it like a club, the end of the staff would just catch him under his chin, snapping his head back and sending him sprawling. Before he could even lift his head back off the ground however her staff again came straight down on his forehead. Slamming him back into the ground, and knocking him out cold.

I got him! I got the bad guy with the big gun! I kinda wish you hadn't saved him for me to be honest Mr Jedi!

Oh thank the Gods.

His ally had managed to take down the last of the enemies and he didn't have to try and help her. That was good because he felt like he was about to throw up out of over exertion if he was honest. In the end, he managed to pull himself over to a nearby building so that he could sit up against the wall. Sighing a little bit, he groaned at the effort that it took before managing to give Vargas a thumbs up.

"Had to leave you something fun to play with, right?" He chuckled a little bit weakly before groaning, "That was too much Force..."

He opened his eyes again and managed a weak smile,

"And it's Lucian. Lucian Volante - not Mr. Jedi."

She was about to be worried about the Jedi before he turned around and gave her the thumbs up. She smiled her best smile at him and gave him the thumbs up back before walking over to him. She pulled her canteen off her belt and threw it to him. She could tell he was still very much exhausted and needed to get his strength back.

Glad to meet you Lucian! That's a really cool name! How'd you get such a cool name? No fair!

She said enthusiastically, looking like she was ready for round two with whatever might show up. Thankfully there were no more threats around, for them at least.
