The company Synthetic Horizons was once a small company that specialized in cybernetics. It showed promise but poor management and lack of funding made it easy prey for the mega-corp giant Blackwell to scoop up. Newton was interested in it, and that's why Blackwell made the move to acquire it. It was better that Blackwell scoop it up at a low price rather than it going to waste. Now SH exists under Blackwell's network of subsidiaries. Newton has seen Synthetic Horizons as a personal project, given his own personal fondness for droids, machines, and cybernetics. Soon, it shall become a big credit maker.

On the Outer Rim world Carosi XII - a renowned world in the medical field - at the Synthetic Horizons branch office, the CEO of Blackwell Tech would have the branch manager's office to himself during his stay. Sitting comfortably in his space-leather office seat with a Corellian mahogany desk in front of him, he would await his appointment with one M.D. Blec Croncu. A rather interesting individual, as he found a profile on him. His aptitude in cybernetics and in the medical field would be useful. It is also refreshing to hear ideas from others, rather than doing all the thinking himself.

Ready for his appointment with Doctor Croncu. Newton was wearing a nice, professional buisness suit/attire, also wearing black gloves. Checking his chrono it is time. Newton's protocol droid assistant would right now be escorting the good doctor to him.

M.D. Blec Croncu was quite excited, as he got the invitation from Newton Arden, the Blackwell CEO to talk about cybernetics. For Blec it would be an opportunity to enhance his technological knowledge about cybernetics, while Newton would most likely get a better understanding from the medical part, since connecting a cybernetic prosthetic to human tissue and making it work, was everything but a piece of cake.

Arriving at Carosi XII, Blec was stunned about the nature of this place. Snowy mountains were pretty dominant over this planet, a very unique view, especially in combination with the Avuae Sea. Arriving at the capital and landing at the space port, Blec went to the Synthetic Horzion Branch Office, which Newton mentioned to be the meeting point. Stunned over the architecture from this city and its beauty, he soon arrived at the office.

Once entering the office, he got greeted by an protocol droid, who guided him to the room, where Newton was waiting for him to arrive. M.D. Blec Croncu wear a very nice looking and also comfortable pullover with jeans and white shoes. He wasn't a big fan of fancy clothes, because for him was important, that the clothes can carry his personal stuff and they should also be comfortable, which he thought is not the case with a business suit.

Once the protocol droid opened the door to Newtons office, he walked into the room and immediately offered his hand for a handshake and said: "You must be Mr. Arden I assume... well thank you for the invitation, I feel honored and excited about the meeting. I hope we can profit from each others expertise." Excitingly he awaited an answer from Newton...

"Thank you. I am sure we will Doctor Croncu. And thank you for coming all this way, I trust the journey was fine?" he said, he would shake on the handshake, firmly. Underneath the gloved finger, the doctor would feel that it's metal underneath. A part of Newton's own very extensive cybernetic enhancements. "You can call Newton if you want" Newton fosters a welcome, casual environment for meetings such as this, not really caring for being overly formal or anything.

"Before we begin, care for a refreshment?"
If so, the secretary droid would retrieve him a beverage or water. In either case, pleasantries wouldn't drag ont too long and they will begin with the why they are here shortly.

Noticing the cybernetic finger he would smile at first because in this moment he knew, that not only he is a businessman, but also understands the importance of having a good cybernetic prosthetic... For the travel he would reply: "Yes, the travel was fine. Also you can call me Blec if you want."

Still thinking about the prosthetic and obviously curious about how he got this injury in the first place, he would be standing in the room, thinking about a way not to be overy direct or insulting for any questions... his thought process though got interrupted by Newton as he asked, if he would care for refreshments. "I can't say no to that generous offer... but tell me, how did you lose this finger in the first place? and is this cybernetic prosthesis one of your own exemplar?", he asked, then taking a sip from the glass of water.

The droid would then present Blec with an array of refreshment. He can have whatever he wants. Anyways, it seemed that the Doctor felt the metal underneath his glove. Newton would then loosen his tie a bit and then reveal what is under his shirt and reveal a glimpse of metal skin of his cybernetic full body replacement. "I didn't lose anything." he said. "I improved upon everything" he smiled. Normal people wouldn't jump at the chance to get their whole flesh and blood replaced by cold steel, but Newton did. And he feels so much better discarding a vast majority of his flesh and blood.

Now that was out of the way, they can get to the why of why they are here. He didn't drag the busy doctor all the way out here for no reason. "Now the reason that I have contacted you, is that I am seeking your expertise in furthering Synthetic Horizon's brand. It is not enough that enough that I have improved upon myself and have improved upon others. I am looking for your consolation as seasoned specialist to push the boundaries even further. To either improve our current products or to introduce a new idea for a new line of products to stand with our other top-of-the-line products. In any event - a contract, and a great deal of credits could be yours." he laid the offer out there.

Listening to Newton Arden about the replacement he made just for the sole purpose, he wasnt sure whether he should be impressed by the work he made or shocked that he would give away the purity of flesh so easily. Though it wasn't his business to deal with the decisions Newton made.

Listening to the what he had in mind, about the idea up improving the cybernetics even further, he wasn't quite sure, if this technology could be further improved in the way of sensing or movement or something else. Blec was trained in that matter and also able to precisely calibrate the way the cybernetics react to the owners desires. He of course has experience on how to install and calibrate some military grade cybernetic limbs / prostethics for military personell, but this wasn't his daily business. Most of his patients were happy with a "normal" and non luxorious fuctionable cybernetic hand for example.

Obviously thinking very hard about what he would wish to improve, since his cybernetic finger was quite impressive, he asked: "I'm curious, with that cybernetic finger you got there, you are already challenging most producers out there... the only thing what I have encountered to be more impressive was a military grade cybernetic hand. So tell me, what do you think could be improved further? Is it the Material? Reaction time? Precision? Synchronization? Sensation problems? Hyperacute-Cybernetic-Rejection?"

Sitting in the chair, he awaited further details to decide whether he could truly help him or not...

Newton would then take off the glove of his left hand to reveal the cybernetic hand, and then he would flex the finger. "So far it works almost flexible as my old finger. It could be fine-tuning still in terms of precision and reflexes. The material is good and I don't want to feel. Other than that, my body replacement responds well to me." It's not unlikely using his body back when it was flesh and blood.

"However though, perhaps look at other things. Some added features perhaps?" Newton's droid - with a snap of a finger - would then from a holoprojector a display of the SH-Multitool Arm. "This is a Synthetic Horizons product, the multi-tool arm. Comes with things like a plasma torch, holo-projector, a hydrospanner and some other stuff." There was some other stuff too. The droid would leave the projector on the Corellian-made wooden desk for the MD to inspect the visual of the arms closely if needed. "What else could we do that would improve further. For our customers, and perhaps me as wekk?" he would ask.

Blec always had an affinity for cybernetics, albeit with certain reservations. Some devices were incredibly effective, bringing immense satisfaction to patients. Others were merely tools of warfare, and some were simply subpar.

However, the piece he was examining now was a one-of-a-kind cybernetic device. It was well-designed, mostly functional, and versatile—a perfect fit for someone who had been a ship's technician. But his purpose here was more than just admiration; he was here to analyze and potentially enhance this piece.

"Hmm, I must admit, it looks impressive. I'd like to examine the arm's Neuro-Dock—the interface connecting nerves, flesh, and the cybernetic prosthesis—to see if there's room for improvement. My expertise lies in designing the Neuro-Dock, calibrating it, ensuring compatibility with various body types, and assessing risks for cybernetic rejection syndrome. The Neuro-Dock, to me, appears to be the most complex component, requiring flawless design to avoid any neural scarring," he remarked, scrutinizing the blueprint.

"Also, what are your future plans? Which areas of cybernetics do you intend to explore? Applications for civilians, military use, or medical advancements like artificial organs?" he inquired, awaiting a response from Newton.

"I can get you a physical copy for you to do that" when asked about examining the neuro-dock. The protocal droid would be on it. This Synthetic Horizons headquarters, although not really a shop or factory itself, does have some product.

Now for the last question. "Synthetic Horizons is exploring cybernetics that are apt in the civilian and military spheres, the civilian-oriented market is where the most credits would be" he answered. "Artificial organs would be a good area to area to explore. That could shift the landscape in the medical field." Although with a full body replacement cybernetics, he is still reliant on some of his organic organs. If they had viable replacements, that would be grand. Not only for Newton's personal use, but others could purchase top of the line replacement with a good deal of credits.

"You're kind of already in the medical field, aren't you? Cybernetics are a medical product. But let's tackle one thing at a time. I'll have a look at the Neuro-Dock once your droid brings it over. Let's start with the simpler cybernetics. Limb cybernetics are commonly found across the galaxy, some of good quality, others not so much. I think we can agree that everyone prefers to be able to do things independently. I've looked at your new arm, and it seems there isn't much left to improve, except maybe for creating a 'daily-life' cybernetic prosthesis. Unlike you, some of my patients have struggled with their new identity and their unfamiliar new limb. It may sound a bit odd, but some have described it as feeling like a part of them has died. And I have to say it again, your new product is good. However, for some patients, the 'droid-like' design might be off-putting. Perhaps you might consider producing a more 'leisure-time' version of this product, one that offers an experience closer to that of a normal hand or arm," he said, looking into the blueprint of the Multitoolarm.

He then proceeded, "I think we could really change things. Imagine having an arm that almost feels like a real one. You could sense warmth and cold, your arm or hand would also get cold like the other one, depending on the surroundings, and your movement would be unrestricted. Ultimately, the decision to produce such things is yours, and most of these features I've mentioned are the job of the Neuro-Dock; the rest is just sending a signal from one place to another. Well, what do you say?"

"Yes, that would be very good" he said. He did have a good point, replacement limbs that look and feel like what they are replacing as much as possible. Cybernetics although isn't unfamiliar to Newton, there is a reason why he got an actual expert on the field to consult to and do business with "Maybe also feeling like a real one, what about synth-skin took make it look like an regular limb in addition to feeling. That could be added at higher cost" That would be needed since synth-skin and how to make it isn't very common. Maybe that's something for Newton to consider as well, with synthskin, he would have the benefits of having an organic looking body in addition to the advantages of his cybernetic body being superior to his former flesh and blood.

Meanwhile, his droid had delievered to the doctor the thing so that he could example it.

Blec was very pleased with the progress of the conversation so far. It seemed like Newton took Blec's opinions seriously, a rarity among businessmen.

Blec had a good feeling that this collaboration would be highly productive. There was just one more thing for him to clarify with Newton:

"I'm very pleased that we're in agreement on these topics. Of course, we can make a high-end model with synth-skin and a 'budget' version without it, but with the same sensors. Now, there's just one more thing to settle. I'm excited to work with you and provide these high-end products to my patients. However, the time I spend here is time away from maintaining the costs of my ship. So, I'd like to know: how and how much do you plan to compensate me?"

Newton nodded his head as things were going. This meeting is turning out to be pretty productive. They are getting things squared away, business is progressing.

And of course, the doctor wanted to be well compensated for their work. "That goes without saying." He would then reach for his assistant for her EZPad Datapad and then put in a few inputs into it and show the doctor the screen. "This is what your compensation would look like." The pay would be pretty significant, it would pay well as this is a sizable commission. Plus as the products sell, Croncu would also receive royalties. The more they sell, the more Croncu gets an additional share of profit. Not to mention he would be credited with the designs, so that is addition exposure for him. That would help Croncu's endeavors in the future.

"What do you think?" he asked. Newton, nor Blackwell stand for ripping people off or shortchanging people for their hardwork.

Blec was taken aback by the CEO's generosity. The sum was substantial enough to overhaul his fleet, aligning perfectly with his grander vision. 'The Synapse,' while a flagship in its own right, fell short in terms of size. Now, with this payment combined with future royalties, he could afford an entirely new ship.

His grin widened with excitement as he extended his hand for a handshake.

'I accept these terms and conditions.', Blec said briefly.

Thus began a partnership that would result in the creation of numerous cutting-edge, high-end cybernetic products.
