Location: Low orbit, Celanon, O-6, Outer Rim
Time: an hour before sunrise

Theme: Absolute Territory ❅ Ken Ashcorp
OOC: Dice
Intro: Previously on the Zandrali Diaries... after their time turn of events and finding slaves onboard the other remaining light freighter the two sith use the flight computer of the ship to track the traitorous arms dealers back to their base...

They were only a few kilometers out. Chances were they would be spotted by whatever scanners and detection equipment the arms dealer hideout had. In her mind they were not arms dealers any more, they were slavers and double crossers. All of those things were fine but when it was Zandrali that was being crossed she would make them experience the consequences of their actions.

It was still early and as soon as Drali had found out the arms dealers' had a base on Celanon she had told Aadya she was going after them. The slaves and especially the Dathomir witches that had been held captive were willing to join in on some revenge. Those that just wanted to leave, the Crusader had given some credits to but most of them had decided to take the light freighter that had held them captive and now flew next to the Red Yeeter's Lash heavy star bomber.

"Alright, we'll be coming up on them soon, they'll pr-" But the woman did not get to finish her words because the pings of five separate high speed contacts were coming in fast from the same direction as the base they were going to be assaulting. "
Boogies coming to intercept!"

Flying wasn't really one of Aadya's fortes. When Drali had told her she wanted to assault the base of the jerkasses that tried to double cross them, though, Aadya couldn't say no. She'd commandeered one of the Empire's crux star fighters, figuring she probably wouldn't be able to be much help if she was piloting her own mynock. That thing was huge and wasn't really a combat vessel fit to be operated by just one person.

As they flew Aadya got herself comfortable in atmo, flipping a few switches and reading the various monitors that chirped at her occasionally. When Drali came across comes warning of potential bogies, the young Drast couldn't help but sigh exasperatedly. She was hoping they'd make it to the base and get boots on the ground before they had to start killing people. Hopefully her piloting skill wasn't so rusty she'd end up getting herself killed.

"Light these bitches up, Drali!" Aadya shouted over the comms. She gunned the throttle of her ship, zooming off straight towards the incoming enemies. According to her radar, they appeared to flying in some kind of V formation. Deciding to open up on them with the biggest thing she had, Aadya did a few calculations and locked target on the lead fighter.

*Firing off a concussion missile, the ordinance rocketed off straight for the lead fighter. Apparently a novice pilot, the nimrod didn't even attempt evasive maneuvers or even have his shields up. The rocket smashed straight into his ship and send it careening towards the ground, engulfed in a massive fireball.

Aadya couldn't help but make a goofy ass face as she watched the fighter go down. "That's one down and four to go," Aadya said over the comm, veering her ship away from the group of fighters to get better positioning for a second run.

The starfighters were coming in fast. There were only five of them but they had enough fire power to still do damage on their own if they had any decent pilots behind the controls. Aadya proved the damage she could do by firing a missile and completely blowing one out of the sky. Now there were only four left. "Let's go you bastards!" She yelled after Aadya cheered her on.

The gunners knew what to do but the sluggishness of the ship was a drawback. With them coming towards the heavy star bomber at an inconvenient angle only one ventral and one dorsal dual autoblaster turret along with one dual light laser cannon turret would be able to get a bead on their approach until the Drali could get a better angle or they changed course.

The profiles of the starfighters were slim and one of the two starfighters was smarter than the other. It moved out of the way as laser cannon fire traced the air where it had been before. The other one was still fast, avoiding damage but he was also kill hungry it seemed. Shots sunk into the heavy star bomber's shields. Drali growled at seeing her ship being hit by the scummy defenders.

It was probably the desire for destruction that actually ended up getting the pilot of the starfighter killed though. The gunners were able to track his movements and while the damage had been dealt by the fighter pilot he paid for it with his life. "Make that three left."

Take out two of the attacking starfighters (barely a success)

As she got her ship into strafing position Aadya noticed Drali taking a bit of fire. Seemed her shields were doing their job though, two of the fighters paying with their lives for trying to tango with the star bomber.

Aadya's re-positioning gave her a pretty good angle on a strafe run on one of the remaining fighters, though the other two had managed to do some maneuvers to get themselves out of harms way for now.

*The turrets on Aadya's figher sprayed the enemy fighter across its entire hull, breaching its rudimentary shields, and sending it crashing it down to the ground in a fireball. One of the other fighters had managed to get itself a better position though, and fired upon Aadya. Her shields absorbed the damage for now but probably wouldn't be able to take many more hits like that before failing.

"Lets finish the last two fast, Drali." Aadya said over comms. "I'm not looking to die today."

She needed to get a better position so her gunners could get their optimal angles on the enemy craft. Aadya was tangling with one of the remaining three and managed to take it out. Drali saw on her read out another half dozen enemy contacts closing fast. They would soon be right on top of them.

At the moment she would have to haul on her ship and activated her burst thrusters so all of the star bomber's turrets had a visual on the two starfighters. As she performed the high altitude 'Deucalian Drift' her gunners opened fire and all laser turrets found purchase on the two in range.

Not only were all six light laser cannon turrets able to find purchase on their targets but the two enemy starfighters ended up going out of control and damaging two of the starfighters coming to reinforce them. Drali crowed in her seat. "YEET!" Her voice was not the only one that rang out inside the starbomber. Her crew had started to pick up on it, showing their excitement and pride in the feat.

Aadya's sensors were going crazy, indicating that there were more fighters closing in to take them out. She didn't quite see what Drali did, but she managed to take out four freaking fighters all at once. It was pretty dang impressive as far as Aadya was concerned, but she didn't want to get totally shown up.

Noticing two of the new fighters were still in close formation and that she had a bead on the lead one, Aadya lined up her weapons and fired off a missile. *The missile struck true, destroying the lead fighter instantly. The second fighter was flying so closely that it got caught up in the ensuing fireball and explosion of debris, sending it careening towards the ground damaged beyond repair.

Keeping up her speed, Aadya would hopefully round back to help Drali take out the final two fighters. She couldn't believe things were going so well.

There was one starfighter left for the time being. Aadya was dealing with her own two starfighters in the short term and was doing a pretty good job at it. It was a lot better than when Drali had to carry the team when it came to space combat. "Woo! You're a natural!" She complimented the woman.

Cutting any further speech with her wingmate was a the beeping sound of a missile lock. Her astromech droid practically screamed a warning to match the alert on her dashboard. "I hear it!" She said in response and slammed on her XXX sublight boosters sending her ship quickly up to seventy five mglt and prolonging the time before the ordnance would hit.

<"ohshitohshitohshitohshit"> she kept swearing in Deucalic repeatedly knowing that the missile was going to hit soon. She took a gamble and activated her burst thrusters again. The missile missed the ship just barely, within a wingspan of the ship. The heavy starbomber groaned at the manuever and the Crusader knew that it would probably need some repairs after this venture. But it was better than half of her ship getting blown up.

The starfighters must have thought the missile would have finished her off because they were not chasing her. That was a relief. But now she was a distance from them and Aadya. If there were any more reinforcements or another dogfight chances were that Drali would have to just tank the damage rather than avoid it.

going to do evasive maneuvers to avoid damage (critical success)

As Aadya rounded her ship back onto the remaining two starfighters she could feel the adrenaline pumping through her body. She'd felt excitement before, obviously, but Aadya was sure she never felt anything like what she was feeling right now. It was pure elation fueled by competitiveness and mild bloodlust. She was in the friggen zone.

*Getting the lead fighter in her sights, Aadya peppered it with laser fire. Each bolt slammed into the wing of the enemy fighter, sending it into a tailspin and lighting it on fire. *By a sheer stroke of luck, or ultimate skill if you asked Aadya, the first fighter careened headlong into the fighter just behind it causing them both to explode in a giant fireball of total failure.

Flipping on her comms, Aadya couldn't help but brag a little. "Looks like I got the rest, don't see much left on the scanners. I think they might have finally figured out they can't hang.. or they ran out of ships."

Aadya looked around and couldn't immediately spot Drali's ship, though she had seen her zip off with crazy speed so likely she was just too far away still. "Come back on this way and we can get down planet side and finish off the rest of these morons." She said with a laugh. It had been a good day so far and Aadya hoped that the ground fight went just as well.

The sooner they could get the witches back to Dathomir, the better.

She was heading back to assist Aadya when she saw her take out the last remaining ships. She would have to give it to her cohort. Aadya had some skill that could not go ignored. The Deucalian double checked her own scanners to see if there were any further enemies coming in but the readout matched the Drast's words.

"You got it." She responded at the woman's beckoning call. She made sure to ease up on her accelerator now that there was no imminent threat. She would have her crew members begin taking a look at the ship's systems. Drali wanted a full diagnostics and see if there was any damage that could become greater with irritation later on. It was better they find a lose power coupling now than realize they lost something in the middle of a heated fight.

"Won't be able to do any straffing runs on ground forces if we want our gear back. Too much fire could damage our gear. Plus...I think our witch friends want some time up close and personal with these fellas." The starbomber would bank and the two ships would move down to the main area where she could already see some of the arms dealers and slavers were amassing.
