DESCRIPTION
The Crux-class starfighter is a vessel produced by the Imperial Fleet Works corporation, and well used by the military of the Sith Empire, although it is not nearly as ubiquitous as Imperial Sienar Systems' Vexation-class interceptor, being issued mainly to special units. Equipped with a hyperdrive, the Crux is typically used as the spearhead of surprise raids, using its hyperspace capability to jump into a system ahead of the main force and soften up a target's defenses for the capital ships and swarms of Vex fighters that will follow. Crux pilots are considered to be the elite of the Imperial pilot corps, and are well versed in tactics, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of their craft.

Crux-class starfighters sacrifice durability and heavy weapons for their hyperdrive capability, being armed with only a pair of light laser cannons and a 3-shot concussion missile launcher, and lacking any kind of deflector shield. Skilled pilots can handily make up for these shortcomings, and the sorts of pilots the Empire usually puts in the Crux give them a fearsome reputation. Some high-ranking Sith even fly the Crux themselves, preferring it to the Nightshade-class pinnace which is usually issued to such individuals.

LEGALITY
Restricted. In civilized systems, pilots must be properly licensed or be members of recognized armed groups.

INTENT
To create a hyperdrive-equipped starfighter for Imperial use.

ADVANCED TECH
No. Crux-class starfighters are available, although being legally restricted makes them non-trivial for the average individual to own.
