Vathros, sometimes called Vath or V, is a somewhat self taught student of Sith Philosophy who currently finds himself at the precipice of his transformation into true Sith. Though he lacks lightsaber and formal training, his emerging force gifts and natural drive to survive despite all contrary efforts have set him down a path that he believes will lead to his salvation. Currently, he seeks a powerful Sith under which to train, so that he may learn to use his gifts and skills with greater efficacy.
He tends toward caution, preferring to take the course with the most profitable outcome, be that material or otherwise. While he maintains a friendly attitude to those he interacts with regularly, a constant feeling of paranoia clouds most of his decisions. He is soft spoken, but speaks with very little faltering or stuttering, usually assured once he has decided to converse. He is loyal to the extreme to those who grant him knowledge or power, a trait that he knows he must learn to temper when dealing with Sith, but tries his best to avoid those that are blatantly untrustable, regardless of promised rewards.

In the beginning days of 141 ABY, a young Kiffar merchant from Clan Tizeno had a substance fueled tryst with a working woman, and abandoned her just as quickly, unknowingly leaving her with child. That child would be born months later, and be given the name Vathros, named after his mother’s closest friend, though the child would never know that. Clan Tizeno was a known clan of rabble rousers and rough, uncouth folk. Not wishing the child to go back to them, his mother instead chose to keep him herself.
Vathros slowly aged, and his mother saw more of his father in him every day, from his jet black hair, to his pale yellow eyes. And though she took care of him best she could, he lost her at only 4 years old, killed by small arms fire in an exchange between some criminal and local law enforcement. Motherless, Vathros was given over to a small orphaned children’s home, and told that he wouldn’t be seeing his parents again. The years spent at the ramshackle children’s home, under the dubious supervision of underpaid caretakers, led Vathros to develop many worrying tendencies for a small child.. When pushed to confrontation by other children, Vathros would defend himself by disappearing into the wilderness, and would hide rather than fight back. As well, he grew very accustomed to listening carefully, eager to note the approaching steps of others, and the mannerisms they exhibited.
It was during one such tryst into the woods, eye swollen and lip bloodied from the punishment he endured, that he found an ancient cave system, one who’s previous tenants had long since withered to bone. Frightened by the children that chased him more than dusty bones, he sought refuge in the cave, and went deeper. It was in the bowels of Kiffex that he found a Sith Holocron, though he had no idea what it was at the time. His latent force abilities awakened upon finding the muted red cube, the psychometry ability that those of his race could manifest showing him the cube’s past, and more importantly, how it was operated. It imparted little to him on first contact, but showed him a powerful warrior who wielded the energy of the universe around him as his own personal weapon. This warrior called himself a Sith, and spoke of breaking chains, a message that resonated with the young Kiffar.
Vathros was reported missing to the children’s home, at the age of 8, and was never seen there again. Instead he lurked within the cave system he had found, and feverishly studied all the Sith Holocron had to offer. Forced to live off of the nature around him, he used the knowledge of the Force from the holocron, as well as his own wit to scrape by, eating fungus and small insects as a child, and graduating to hunting and gathering as he aged. For 9 years, he languished within the cave system, and cut a way of life out of the Kiffexian wilderness. By the age of 17, he had mastered the admittedly basic lessons within the Holocron, and began to develop a burning desire for more knowledge, more power.
The Holocron had made mention multiple times of a Sith Homeworld, a place known as Korriban. Vathros knew this was where he would need to go should he desire a path forward with the power he was learning to wield, and as such, left his cave, headed to the only populated area he knew, the city he was born in. Rather than work for pay so that he may purchase a ticket, the young Kiffar stowed away on a ship that was docked, with no information other than that he had heard the pilot say the word “Korriban”. The vessel, in truth a small smuggling ship, was indeed headed to Korriban, and though he nearly starved, Vathros made it the whole way, remaining unseen.
Since docking on Korriban, Vathros has remained there. Vagrancy was no issue to the young boy, and he cut a niche into the harsh environment that Korriban offered. There were populated areas in which he rummaged for scraps, and many tombs of ancient Sith that he hid in. A mix of luck and survival skills have kept him alive in the 2 years since he landed. Vathros has vowed to remain on Korriban until it takes his life, or he finds a suitably powerful Sith who can further his training.
