Ask Nar Shaddaa Corruption Begins

Xath walked into the dimly lit room, pausing to survey his surroundings. It was a decent place; looked like they repaired ships or something. Good spot for a...secret meeting of some sort.

"Why exactly did you bring me here?" He called to the alien on the far side of the room, sitting awkwardly in a chair too small for him. "What do you want from me?"

He already had a feeling within him; he could sense the creature's affinity for the force. Nevertheless, he had to be sure. He couldn't reveal himself just yet...

[Polcyc]

"I know that you are force sensitive, due to some...happenings in a bar on Tatooine I happened to be present in." He stared the man in the eye. "Now I'm known for beating anyone in hand to hand combat...and some friends dared me to challenge you."

He paused, this was the tricky part. "Do you accept?" Of all he had heard of these strange people, there still was a lot he didn't understand. He was either a coward and would reject the idea, or...well, he'd just have to see.

Xath was shocked; it wasn't exactly what he had come here to do nor what he had expected. Nevertheless, he had to accept...otherwise his kind might seem weak. He'd never recruit the being to the Darkness...

"I accept, under one condition. No weapons." He didn't wait for a response, but turned around, speaking to the wall. "If I win, you hear me out with a proposition I have...if you win, you may take a lightsaber of mine and sell it to Durr or something, whatever you wish."

He turned back around. "And I guarantee you, I won't lose."

 

[Polcyc]

"Ha! You think I am just another low-life form waiting for my downfall, but... you will learn that it is quite opposite when you are bleeding on the floor!" Polcyc lead the Red-saber down the hallway into a custom made arena in the middle of a circle of chairs, filled with corrupt thieves waiting for a good fight, laughing at him. "They think I will lose!" he thought, as his hate grew for the red-saber "I will kill him if I have to!"
"I agree to you weapons policy, the fight would certainly be too short if I had my vibroblade." He laughed menacingly "Ready to die?" he taunted.

Xath walked in and gasped. He hadn't been expecting an audience...and geez, this being was...sassy? Angry? Annoying? Nevertheless, he shrugged. "We'll see."

He stepped into the homemade arena, wherever the guy had gotten this idea from...He surveyed the low-lifes surround them. This might be interesting, but then again it might be a real waste of time. Whatever.

He made a show of dropping his sabers on the ground and raising his fists. "Bring it on, ugly."

Pol grinned, he kind of liked the red-saber... just as ruthless as him. He was also about to doubt that he could beat him. All of his other "contestants" were afraid to fight him because of his size. "Oh well," he thought, "lets get this over with." One of the onlookers in the chairs yelled "start!" That was all he needed to hear. In seconds he was on his opponent, giving rapid blows to his chest. Pol looked in wonder as he blocked all of them with ease. He then tried to do a jump kick to his head, which he also dodged. Pol was very confused, either the red-saber, had no clue how to fight, and was all defensive, or he was waiting for the right moment to strike.

Xath grunted as he repelled attack after attack; the thing was slow and predictable, but it sure did pack a punch. After a while, he started to get bored and began toying around.

The next punch the alien threw was stopped by an invisible force. No matter how hard he pushed, Xath pushed harder, focusing on his raw emotions of...fear that blow would hit? Anger at how annoying this was?...anyways, he finally released his Force grip and the fist blew way of target.

Next, he grunted as he released a bolt of electricity from his fingers. It shot through the alien's body at point blank range, most likely putting him down for the fight...

[Polcyc]

Polcyc felt the electricity pulse through his body and he fell to the floor. "How did you do that?" he managed to get out before crumpling to the floor. He awoke with the red-saber standing over him Polcyc thought he was grinning, but he couldn't tell, his face was covered in shadows. He still felt the aftershocks of the electricity and was violently shaking. "T-t-t-teach m-me." he pleaded before blacking out again.

Xath watched the fight leave the alien. He slumped to the floor, moments later to wake up and make an...interesting request. A plausible request...but one that would require...payment.

"I will train you..." Xath hesitated, "But I will need something in return...merely help. I know not when I will need it, or for what, but if you promise that...then along the way, I'll show you the ropes." He wanted to laugh at how shocked this being was.

He turned around and walked away from the hooting crowd, hoping that the alien followed him. It'd be nice to set this being on the...right path. From then on, it was his own life.

Pol simply didn't understand... help? That was it? He stood shocked as the red-saber walked back into the room where they first met, and then outside. "Where are we going?" He asked, as the man began walking towards a tie elder. "We aren't staying on this planet?" He was even more annoyed when the being didn't answer. He and the red-saber boarded a public transport because of the being's simple remark that his ship only held one person. Pol was a little bit timid, he'd never been off of the planet before... but he wouldn't dare show that to his new teacher.

Xath said nothing as he led the being onto a public transport. He'd have to go back for his ship later. He turned around agressively; "Three things. One, I'm going to need your name. Two, I'm not your master. You'll have to learn a lot on your own; I'm just here to set you on the right path. Three, how much of the dark side do you already know?"

The answer to that question would be crucial; thing was, he already knew the answer--nothing. Oh well, this would take a long time. "On second thought, don't answer that..." He hesitated.

"I'm not taking you off the planet, just to a place a little more...secure. To start with, I'll have to tell you what the dark side is..." He thought of the right words to say. "The Force is a metaphysical and ubiquitous power. There are usually two basic ways to use it--the light, and the dark. The light is weak; they focus on control. The dark, on the other hand, gives their emotions control...they let the force guide them entirely."

He continued. "As their actions reflect, the Jedi don't just try to control their emotions--they try to control the galaxy. The dark side, on the other hand, wants peace, prosperity...and by accessing the dark side, well, you can learn to do things many would consider...unnatural."

 

[Polcyc]

"To answer your first question, my name is Polcyc... you make the so called jedi sound so dreadful, and the sith so powerful. I have two questions to ask... one, what is your name because you told me not to call you master? Second, all of the sectors on Nar Shaddaa are populated, how will it be more secure? Oh... also one more thing, how long does it take to master the... sith arts?" Pol had 100 billion more questions, but for now, these were good. Pol looked around him... everyone was looking at the sith creature, with such... fear... respect! "Soon enough i'll have this much presence when I walk into the room," thought Pol.

Xath laughed. "Nice to meet you...may I call you Pol? And yes, the Jedi are as dreadful as they sound...not to mention our power. Name's Xath, Xath Skous...and Nar Shaadaa is not our target. It's the entire galaxy." He hesitated before answering the last question.

"There are few...actually, none who have completely mastered the arts. To become, say, adequate in it? Were you to have the necessary affinity? And assuming you worked as hard as possible? Depends...there's no set amount of time. It varies from person to person."

The transport had landed, and they hopped off. Xath led the alien to a cantina and relaxed in a chair. "I think the best place to start is simply to answer any questions you might have."

 

[Polcyc]

"Oh... we might be sitting here all day then, but... I have a few. First, who taught you?" Pol watched as the sith lowered his head and turned the opposite direction. "That's odd..." thought Pol. "Oh and by the way, sorry if i sounded like a bit of an jerk when I challenged you and made it seem like I would beat you when you completely wrecked me. And.. this might sound stupid, but this is my most important question... do I get to keep and use my blasters when I become a sith, because it seems like you have one hidden in your robes?" Pol continued to fire away questions while Xath ordered them two drinks. "I might attract some... attention," said Pol. "You see, I'm not great friends with the bartender, because... I might've... put him through the wall." Laughed Pol sheepishly.

Xath sighed as Pol explained. Of course he had picked a fight with the bartender...what'd Xath expect? "You can keep your blasters if you see fit."

The two would go on for hours, talking back and forth as Xath introduced the dark side. It'd take time for him to learn what he needed to become adequate in his skills...

But they had plenty of time.
