Tal was still at the end of the hall, keeping watch. The DC-17x was set up in its sniper modulation, just in case. He kept his visor moving as it shifted from his stairwell, to the hall, to the elevators, to the other stairwell at the opposite side of the hall. He was keeping count. Times residents on lower floors exited to the stairwell beneath him, even seeing if there were any repeats.

He then heard a door open about halfway down the hall and he twisted, shutting the door behind him. Rayna was leveled and focused on the old lady, a real easy mark. Luckily for her, Sal stepped in. And he thought for sure the former cop was at the end of his chain with her. He almost hoped he killed the old bat. He'd activate his comm. "That old lady give you guys any trouble? Hate to have to kill some neighbors."

As Salvatore played interference, It0's cold, cruel manipulator closed round the senator's wrist. The voice that filtered out of his vocabulator was low, joyless and insistent.

"Time to go Senator." he hissed.

A moment later the pair were in Maroo's private quarters, a sprawling gilded chamber of sleek design with the scintillating Coruscant cityscape alight and blazing behind its wall of windows. The droid motioned towards the senator's personal desk and the captive politician begrudgingly dropped himself into the seat.

Maroo's desk, fashioned out of a polished length of alloy, was a minimalist affair with a recessed bank of buttons along one side. After studying the controls for a moment, It0 punched in a sequence that caused a previously unseen panel to slide open, a compact Holocam to rise deftly from the desk's interior. Clearly the senator had used this space for public addresses before.

Standing safely out of frame, the medical droid activated the cam and watched as a ray of the device's effusive green light traced the senator's form. It0 nodded for Maroo to begin.

It wasn't quite time to relax. If they could get back on Tal's ship, then and only then Sal could exhale. At the end of this ordeal, he wanted the Syndicates to have no other opinion than he was organized, detailed, and most importantly, successful. One thing Sal knew both from breaking the law and catching those that broke the law, no job was done until it was done. He had seen great plans go awry and great execution fall to pieces because people let their guard down before it was clear.

For that reason, Sal backed away from the woman's door slowly, making sure she wasn't going to come out. She was sufficiently insulted by the event apparently because she wasn't coming out to give Sal a piece of her mind. Russo turned and put a glove on his right hand so he could open the senator's door without leaving prints. When Sal walked in, Maroo was still giving the confession to the leak he did not commit. Russo thought he sounded quite believable. He walked behind the cam and the droid to the senator's bedroom where they left the datapad with all the planted, damning evidence.

Russo grabbed the datapad and slipped it into his pocket. As he walked back into open room, the senator was finishing his recording from behind his work desk. He watched as It0 shut off the camera and nodded to the droid. "If we got what we need, let's collect the senator and get out of here." Then he pointed to the senator. "You're almost out of this ordeal. No funny business and you keep the rest of your digits, got it?"

As the senator was nodding that he understood and was rising to leave with the droid and the former cop, Sal pulled his wrist comlink to his face and said, "Mando, we're ready to roll, and we're headed your way."

"Copy. All clear out here." He had resumed his post, stairs down were clear which was perfect, they were almost out of the woods. His visor drifted down to the alley below and he could see a familiar reptilian looking through the dumpsters. He grinned under his helm. "I'll go fire up the ship."

Heading up the stairs, he'd sling his rifle, hand resting on the peacemaker at his belt. Reaching the roof, he would exit out into night air, head on the swivel. The Dha'karta was just where he left her and looking cute as a button. He would open the ramp with a button on his bracer, ascending it quickly before shooting for the cockpit. Firing up the engine would take around twenty seconds. "Alright, let's go, let's go, let's go." he mused into the comms.

He would then activate a message terminal, sending a coded message to Scratch. He couldn't wait for them to have a pool party at the new resort. "Buyca, don't fire up the weapons systems until after we leave atmo. I don't want to flag CSF by going hot."

The medical droid wasn't much of a judge of sentient performances but he estimated the senator's shaky confession was sufficient for the task. Salvatore seemed satisfied in any case and It0 felt confidence enough in the brutish man's qualifications to not raise doubts. Pocketing the Holocam, he led Maroo from the darkened suite as quickly as his motivator would allow.

As the retraced the halls and turbolifts towards the rooftop and freedom beyond, his analytics engine was abuzz with activity. Preef would undoubtedly look upon such success with gratitude. That could mean big things for It0. Big things for the Droid Gotra. Outside once more, the vast skyline seemed a touch more vibrant than before and while it still failed to match the chaotic splendor of Nar Shaddaa, It0 found himself admiring it.

Prodding Senator Maroo up the landing ramp and into the interior of The Dha'karta, It0 turned to Salvatore.

"If you intend to hold up with the senator for an extended period of time, you will need provisions to ensure his wounds don't worsen and fester." he explained. "I'll provide you with a Bactaboot and some anticeptin pills which should stave off infection."

It0 glanced back towards the senator and caught the man's eye. The droid's sickly yellow photoreceptors studied him from his skeletal, durasteel cranial unit.

"With proper care Senator Maroo should make a full recovery," he said flatly before adding, "so long as he says or does nothing to endanger his own health."

Russo's head swiveled back and forth as the followed behind the droid and the Senator to Tal's ship. He was probably being unnecessarily vigilant, but that was preferable to loosey-goosey in Sal's experience. He finally felt like he could unwind a little in the ship, and he could feel the tension release from his shoulders and core as he relaxed. The droid explained what he would provide for him over the next couple of days.

"Much appreciated, Redacted. I'm sure the Senator's desire for self-preservation will motivate him to get well soon...and to keep his mouth shut," Sal said. The gangster sent the coordinates of the motel's location to Tal. "Mando, sent you the location of the home for the Senator and me over the next few days. We can get that hologram over to the senator's datapad on the way to our motel."

The bald man let loose a laugh, plopped into a seat in the commons area, and banged on the table in front of him. "Gentleman, well done! Be damn proud to do it again sometime," Sal said loud enough for Tal to hear in the cockpit. "Mando, get us the hell out of here so we can break out the champagne!"

Tal would smirked beneath his helm as he lowered into his pilots seat. "Buyca, get us out of here." The droid would beep and whirr as it began to plug away into different ports as it took over control of the ship. The ramp would lift and soon the ship would begin to take off. Soon they were heading for the atmosphere and with it, safety.

Suddenly the Mandalorian would gasp. "CSF! Incoming!" he would yell back to his precious cargo, nodding his head to the droid who would dip and dive the ship a bit as if he was undergoing evasive maneuvers. A few seconds of that and Taldorak would burst into laughter, especially as fear began to line the Senators face. "Ah-ha!! I'm kidding, Marty. Don't be such a glum ass, yeah? I'll have to have our resident sex bot over there dislodge the stick. And lemme tell ya, it tickles on the way up but -really- hurts on the way out."

Once they hit the atmosphere, the Dha'karta would enter hyperspace as he jumped to the address provided by Sal. "Cue, I guess I can put in a good word for ya with the boss. Ya did good. Cold beer is in the fridge. Oil is in the storage locker. Go crazy, boys." He'd lean back and remove his helm, setting it ontop of the droid, before procuring his flask and taking a long pull from it. Boy did it pay to be bad.
