Appearance: While Commodore Aubrey discarded many of his faults while in service of the Coruscant branch of the Republic army, vanity was one that never left him. Always immaculately vested, he believes that should he die, he would die well dressed. His skin is pale from lack of sunlight, a chief trait of officers and thinkers alike, and his face is punctuated with two bright blue eyes. A distinguished gentleman of impeccable breeding and station, Commodore Aubrey has inherited a certain sense of poise and charm from his genealogy, completing the portrait of this dashing war hero.

Skills: Marq Aubrey was never known as a coward. He is brave, often suicidally so, but this isn't borne of a sense of ego. Aubrey values his honour above all else in his life, and believes that life wouldn't be worth living should it be marred by failure and cowardice. He would say of himself that he "is a good man. A brash man, but a good one nonetheless." He has a flawless track record: hundreds of flight missions through dozens of campaigns, all of them served with gallantry and distinguished service. Putting himself through the line of fire with his crew served only to make him harder, as a folded blade will only grow sharper with each blow.

Strengths and weaknesses: Years of military service have made this man bitter and cold, nigh unapproachable. When he is outside of his command bridge, Commodore Aubrey is described as hard to reach, difficult to decipher, cynical. This flaw, compounded with his belief that the world is his on a silver platter, have only served to mask the emergence of a graver fault still: a near-fanatical belief that humans are destined to rule the galaxies. Marq Aubrey, a member of the human elite of Coruscant and an erudite lover of the local intelligentsia, has never sought to hide his disdain for non-humans, even going as far as banning any and all lifeforms not sharing his genetic code aboard his vessel. These racist beliefs have only gotten worse now that he has gained fame and notoriety.

Gear: Aubrey wears his uniform with pride, a fine mesh of blue and pearly-white silks and ribbons adorned with more than a few awards. His "salad bar" of decorations include a Medal of Valor (for services rendered unto the Council), a Distinguished Award for Bravery (for his campaign against the Hutt smugglers of Naddar Sha) and several Stars of Gold (for skill and dexterity in the face of danger). Aubrey travels light, bearing only a sidearm prominently displayed on his hip-holster, as well as his personal sword. More a ceremonial symbol than anything else, the blade, nearly three feet in length, is a delicately-curving alloy of cortosis and durasteel, etched with the phrase "From Order to Order". A gift for nebulous services rendered decades ago, the officer tends to steer the conversation away once it reaches the subject of his sword.

Ship: Marq Aubrey has commanded the Eleusis since he was a boy. A fourty-six gun frigate, the ship is a marvel of engineering and class, outshined only by its four tri-gamma emission propulsion engines, allowing her a top cruising speed of 99.7% the speed of light. The sleek, elongated nose of the craft houses the radar equipment, which transmits all received data to the bridge, located aft of the vessel.

Biography: Marq Aubrey, born Marcus Taylor Aubrey the Fifth, was brought into this world by the wife of a prominent industrialist, holder of one of the largest fortune of the galaxy. Coruscant being what it is, the young Marq enlisted in the military one drunken night, along with three of his more oblivious classmates. Never having stepped foot outside of his home planet before, Aubrey was astonished at the vast reaches of the Rim, as well as the extraordinary variety of peoples inhabiting it. Rather than fascinating him, it disgusted him. All this filth, he thought, obstructing the way to power of his species, of him! Clever enough to choose the spatial service as his path of choice, Marq Aubrey watched his horror as his friends, who had in their besotted frame of mind enlisted in the mobile infantry, be blasted apart as his superior officer, who had entered the wrong firing coordinates into the targeting hardware. Seething with impotent rage, Aubrey rose through the ranks remembering that night when a foolish Captain had blown awaythe remnants of a happy youth.

Recently dishonourably discharged from his post for refusing to heed the commands of a Horansi fleet commander, Commodore Aubrey took flight with his ship and crew, evading a court martial solely through the pervading influence of his father and the sheer legend surrounding his own military accomplishments. His ship, though it had served proudly in the Republic army, was never officially commisionned by the military hierarchy and therefore, subject to the whims and fancies of the Commodore himself.

I like your character. He's very well written and interesting. However, I'd like to point out a few things.

First, Coruscant doesn't have its own military as far as I can tell. It's defended by the Republic Military, so your character will have to be Republic Military for that to work. Which means that you'll need to read this thread and post in the Republic's sign-up thread, located here. If/when you're accepted, we'll set up a training scenario for your character. Upon successfully completing that training, you'll be placed into the Republic Military at your requested rank. [Though Johnny and I reserve the right to lower your starting rank based upon your performance in training.]

Secondly, if you want to command a warship at a rank similar to Colonel, you should be a Commodore. Colonel is an Army rank. =)

And finally, just as a heads-up, the Republic Military doesn't allow racism/speciesism within our ranks. You may want to make it a more subtle thing, to avoid encountering problems with high command. xD

Well caught on the rank, I missed that. About my character's less-than-favourable view on non-humans, it'll be "tolerated" better if he's not in the Republic army ;)

Quickly edited my OP.

Thanks for the offer, but I had planned to join the Sovereign Guard :)

By the way, would it be possible for a mod to change my rank from Colonel to Commodore in my title? Thanks a bunch in advance.

Ahh, I see. Well, I've no problem with you being an Ex-Navy Commodore or former CSF Commander/Commodore/Whatever if you want to join SG with the char. =) Buuut, you won't be able to take the ship you served on with you. =\

Hmm, so be it. I've got cash, I can hire a new crew, but I'm gonna have to explain somehow how I get a new ship. A shame :/

You could always say you just put in some calls to your old crew and talked them into coming back to work for you, though yeah; you're stuck shipless atm. =3

I thought it was 1k...lol. I would've liked to have picked a random number between 2 and 5k myself for Dei, but meh.

I don't really think the money thing really matters much, most profiles don't include it anyway.
