Ithor was a calm, nice planet where most of his habitats were good people, of course it had some very horrible people, like every other planet in the galaxy, but the Ithorians were pacifists and simple but humble people, they didn't deserve many of the things that happened to them, including the slaughter that happened recently in one of their villages.

Zex had been there when the Witch attacked that village, he did his best in order to protect the villagers like the jedi that were also involved in that event, but many of the villagers were killed, not everyone could be saved, that's what happened when the enemy didn't target the soldiers and warriors, but the innocent.

The Nautolan decided to stay in the planet for a few weeks to help the village, the work there was still far from finished but they were doing some progress, people from nearby villages and GA member were coming to help and Zex had been helping rebuilding the orphanage after it burnt down under his watch. The Nautolan, currently on his break, taking a sip of coffee in a table to relax a little bit, his eyes looked tired and his fancy and expensive suit was all dust but he had a soft look on his face after watching the orphans play even after the things that they had to go through, reminding him that after despair there was hope.

Vash didn't know much about the events that had happened in Ithor, but one thing was for sure: it looked bad. The village he was in felt almost completely empty, and there was a distinct sense of... dread. Even now, after the witch had died, the Echani could still feel the mark her actions had left on the living Force. Most people were afraid, some were desperate, and all were scarred.

Where there's life, there's hope, the Padawan told himself, bowing his head in greeting to one of the passing villagers, who responded with a reluctant bow of their own. They didn't know him around here yet, as he'd only arrived this morning, and many were probably a little suspicious of having so many new faces around. Vash couldn't exactly blame them: for all they knew, the new help was only there to try and take as many valuables as possible and get off in the dead of night. It was a paranoid feeling, of course, as there was very little to take from such a small settlement, but these people had gone through too much trauma to be 100% rational right now.

It made no difference. When Vash had volunteered to aid the GA in reconstructing this place, he knew it wouldn't be easy... but he also knew that the Force could guide him into hopefully improving everyone's lives here. And one of the best ways to get started was to figure out what had gone on from someone who'd had firsthand experience on the matter: a Nautolian by the name of Zex had stayed behind after facing off that witch, so it made sense to see him as a first stop.

It didn't take long for the Echani to find his fellow Rebel on a little break- and apparently a well deserved one, given his tired look. He moved on to the Nautolian's table, and gave him a soft smile.

"Hello there," he began, taking a seat in front of the man, offering him a hand to shake. "My name's Vash, I'm here to help get this place back together. Interesting choice of clothing for the kind of work you're doing, by the way," Vash added in a playful, relaxed tone, noticing the fancy suit the man was wearing.

The Nautolan took his eyes off the kids playing to notice the white haired man coming straight towards him, he didn't know him but Zex could guess that he was approaching him to help the village, seeing how the Nautolan was the one from the GA that stood behind in order to take care of the whole mess. And seeing his attire and the lightsaber he had, it didn't take much to realize that he was a jedi. Zex would take another sip from his cup before standing up and greeting the man, shaking his hand.

"Zex Vric, but I guess you already know that, good to have a jedi here to belp"
The Nautolan said, letting out a small chuckle after Vash mentioned his choice of attire, followed by a shrug "I only have suits and a couple of pajamas, serves me right for not owning something more...informal" The Nautolan added, while it sounded like a joke, he was totally serious "Well, take a seat Vash" He said as he sat down again "Anything you want to know before getting to work about what happened, me or something else?"

The Echani gave Zex a little smile, and took up on his offer to sit down. He seemed amiacable enough, which was good- Vash was afraid the Nautolan might be a little too on edge with what was going on to have some good humor. He was glad that was not the case.

"Yup, that much I knew," he admitted. "And I just thought I'd ask a bit of what happened here, from someone who's had firsthand contact. And I'm sorry, by the way- you probably get asked that a lot. Feel free to send in random trivia about yourself if you want to change up your speech a bit," Vash added in a playful tone.

It was only natural people would be curious and just pester poor Zex as much as they could for details. Wasn't everyday a creepy witch did shady things on a massive scale, especially in such a remote village. Of course, Vash was asking not only for curiosity's sake, but also to understand how the actions that had transpired here had affected the living Force. If he understood the symptoms, he'd be more apt to treat the disease, so to speak.

"Don't worry, I like the sound of my own voice so telling this story again and again doesn't bother me at all" Zex joked, letting out a smile before finishing his coffee and getting ready to tell the story once more.

"So, one fateful night I was having a drink in this peaceful place when, suddenly, a thick fog surrounded us all, concerned, I took my blaster out and met with Grandmaster Arda, lovely woman she is, and a badass too"
The Nautolan said, Zex had a lot of respect for the Grandmaster of the jedi after what happened there, without her, they probably wouldn't have survived.

"So, she ordered me and a padawan by the name of Teran to protect the orphanage while she and a knight fought the witch"
The Nautolan's voice suddenly became a little bit softer, sadness coming from it "The situation went very badly really fast, the witch had an army of corpses that grew bigger with every death in the village, most of the villagers were killed and the hospital was overrun, Teran and I were at the top of the orphanage, taking care of as many zombies as we could, but some burning ones got into the building and put it on fire"

"Thankfully, the Ithorian trees seem to be very special, Teran talked to them and their roots forced an animal stampede upon the zombies, taking out most of them, after that I sent him to help Arda and shortly after the witch was slain and this handsome Nautolan heroically took these children out of a building orphanage"
He concluded, pointing at the children playing, who were the ones he was talking about

The Echani listened to Zex's story quietly, nodding here and there and sometimes stroking his chin, deep in thought. Zombies, especially of the burning variety, were never good news. Vash could only guess the kind of perversion of the Force that'd be necesary to call such abominations forth. At least Zex's calm demeanour made the whole story a little easier to swallow, but it was still very worrying.

"I'd heard of some among the Order being able to communicate with trees and the like," the Knight commented in a thoughtful tone, "but never actually seen it. An interesting, if sad story."

He took a moment to look at the children the Nautolan had pointed at. They seemed fine, at least physically speaking. Vash knew it'd take time for the mental scars to heal, though. Perhaps for everyone who had experienced such a gruesome sight.

"Did all the kids make it out unscathed? And did you? That can't have been easy to go through," Vash said, in a kinder tone than he normally used. He felt for these people, who'd experienced more hardships than they deserved. It was entirely possible - actually very likely - that his fellow Rebel had come out of this situation with deep injuries to both his mind and body. Or perhaps not. Vash had been wrong in the past, but it didn't hurt to ask either way. It was his duty to provide guidance when he could, after all.
