Doctor sat in his white office with his feet up on his desk as a small fan gently blew a comfortable breeze across his face. He found the tempature on board the starship to be a little too high for his taste, not to the point where it was unbearable just too high for one to ever find comfort. Doctor cherished the moments when it was quite; no patients, no drama, no Bria harping on him for violating her unspoken rules. Just him alone with his thoughts.

A loud crash shook him from his nap as he turned around to see that another one of his Loth Cats that he tested chems on managed to escape its cage. "Can't have anything nice." Doctor said to himself as he stood up and began to chase the small furry creature across his lab.

Hareth grumbled as she trudged down the hallway of the Asylum. Apparently, she was now expected to go and get a check-up. This bothered her for many reasons. The first was that she hated the Doctor more than she hated literally any other person in the Galaxy. Seriously. She hoped he never found any semblance of happiness again in his hopefully short life. The second was that the checkup would apparently involve shots. She had objected to this point rather strongly, of course, but apparently the crew took the chances of infection rather seriously and she had the choice of getting her shots or getting shot into space, so she was going going to have to grin and bear it. Finally, she was upset because she was missing her cartoons.

She was dressed in her pink-with-purple-spots pajama pants and a white "Star Friends T-Shirt" t-shirt which was emblazoned with the image of the main character Moonbeam Max, seeing no reason to get dressed further than that. Her hair was a mess, but that was nothing new, and was still done up in the pig-tails she used to keep it out of her face when she woke up. She also was barefoot, apparently not caring about the possibility of athlete's foot. It turned out space-ships had little sense of morning, so she just slept whenever she felt like it, waking only to watch her shows, go on missions, or eat. At the very least, she had deigned to take a shower, because apparently skipping those were another thing that made people mad on the stupid ship.

"Doctor," she called out to the office. "I'm here for my stupid check-up."

The expression on her face was thoroughly miserable, contorted into a bratty little pout. She folded her arms, glaring. She really didn't want to do this, and she would be damned if people did not know that.

Doctor didn't immediately notice Hareth enter the office as he scrambled to catch the creature who was making a mess of his nice clean lab. The small Loth Cat eventually evaded capture by scrambling into a air vent as Doctor dove on the floor in order to catch it. "Ah hell, not going to see that thing again." He cursed himself as he stood up and wiped off his lab coat. He turned around and noticed Hareth as he began to pick up his supplies that got knocked over during the skirmish. The tiny woman took after his own heart, Doctor hated getting dressed in the morning. In fact if he didn't get his clothes from an Alderranian luxury exporter he would probably do his job naked. It was also a little too early for Doctor to be at peak performance and unfortunately it wasn't late enough in the day to drink.

"What do you want?" He said as she called his name. "Oh right, that was scheduled for today wasn't it."

Doctor grabbed his data pad off of the floor and unlocked it and swiped to her file. He was greeted with a blank page save for her name, species, and a crude joke about needles that he left for himself.

"Alright jump on that scale and we'll take your weights and measurements. Excuse me for one moment." Doctor said as he walked over to his fridge.

Hareth observed the chaos as a strange feline threw itself around the lab, knocking over everything. There was a cruel sort of satisfaction she took in that, but soon enough whatever the creature was disappeared into the vent. She decided she would find the creature later. Hareth had a lot of hate in her heart, but she had always had a soft spot for animals. She had realized a long time ago she liked them more than people.

Still, she obliged Doctor, moving to stand on the scale. She was small for her size, in fact she was clinically underweight, weighing only 92 lbs when someone of her height should weigh 10 to 20 lbs more. This was a symptom of living in the forest when food was low - a diet of mushrooms did little to keep a young woman's weight up. Frankly, with her diet, it was a miracle she wasn't even shorter than she was. She stood 5'02", but she remembered her mother was closer to 5'09". Perhaps if Hareth had eaten better, she would have reached that height.

She sighed, folding her arms as she waited for Doctor to return, while she wiggled her bare toes on the cold scale. She took the time to look around the lab again, taking in all the equipment in an attempt to calm herself. She had a sense of dread about her, concerning her shots. She knew she wasn't going to be able to look when she got them, which would make her look weak and pitiful in front of the Doctor. Of course, she had already lost some dignity by wailing like a child in front of him. Incidentally, that was also caused by needles.

How was it she spent 5 years entirely needle free and now she was being put in contact with them regularly? Was the Galaxy just so cruel? Had the Force decided that she would be tested?

Doctor bent over and grabbed a cold can of light beer and a tray of containers that had various vaccines in it next to a large container of kidneys. He shut the fridge door with his hip, holding the tray and his data pad in his arms as he walked over to Hareth and set down his supplies next to a examination table.

"Height five foot two inches, weight 92 pounds, age.... 19." He said to himself as he input the information into the pad. "You can take a seat over there." Doctor said as he pointed to the table, taking his own seat on his rolling chair. "Ok I'm going to ask you a series of medically related questions and I'd like you to answer them to the best of your ability. Question one, have you ever come into contact with anyone confirmed to be carrying a communicable disease?"

Hareth saw the beer in Doctor's hands, and wondered exactly why he was drinking so early... and during a check-up. Of course, there was probably no reason beyond 'he wanted to'. So, she obliged him and took her seat across from him, crossing her legs as she did so.

"Uhm, yes," Hareth said. "At the Temple, when I was a child, one of the kids in my room got pneumonia, but we thought it was just a cough at first. We had to be checked up on. I didn't catch it though."

Doctor took a sip of his cold filtered beverage as Hareth answered his question and scribbled a few notes down as he ticked the answer box on his tablet. "Alright question two, as a child have you ever suffered a physical injury that resulted in the breaking of a bone or a concussion?"

Hareth nodded, thinking back to her many injuries when she was a child.

"Yes. Broke both arms once each, my right big toe once, and I got a concussion after falling off of a table I was standing on and landing on my back... whacked my head on the floor."

Doctor remembered back when he was a young freshly graduated doctor working for Korvalk General hospital. Most of the checkups he had to do there were pretty streamlined and simple, the most an average city goer went through was a broken toe or finger but this Jedi girl seemed to win the prize for most kriffed up childhood. He sighed as he made yet another note and ticked a box.

"Third question, and last, question. Have you ever been exposed to any large amounts of radiation and what, if any, medications and foods are you allergic to?" Doctor finished as he took another drink. The rest of the questionnaire was either fluff that he didn't care about or information he gathered during their first meeting when the poor girl was strapped to a chair and beat by Bria.

Hareth blinked. She didn't think she had ever been exposed to any radiation ever, outside of X-Rays. Was that common? It couldn't be. Maybe her lightsaber was a little radioactive. Probably didn't bear mentioning, she wasn't even sure if that was true.

"No, to your first question," she says. "And I'm mildly allergic to blueberries and very allergic to penicillin."

"Perrrrfect..." Doctor mused as he scribbled down 'very allergic to penicillin' in her file. He wheeled himself over to his desk and withdrew a blood pressure cuff, a digital forehead thermometer, and an octoscope along with his stethoscope before wheeling pack and polishing off the rest of his beer. "Alright, now for some clerical garbage." He sighed as he wrapped the cuff around Hareth's arm and put the chilly stethoscope on her chest while he pumped up the cuff. Doctor noticed that her heartbeat was accelerated but wrote it off on the fact that she was probably both nervous and agitated at him for his extravagant use of needles when they first met. Hopefully the fact that now that he wasn't coated with animal blood would slightly appease her.

After getting what he wanted he removed the cuff from her arm and swiped the thermometer against her forehead. "Approximately how long do you think you were on your own?" He asked.

Hareth considered for a moment, even though she pretty much knew the answer. She wanted to be more specific... but that seemed pointless, too.

"About five years," she said. "I sometimes went into cities and villages though. Not for long but occasionally."

Doctor withdrew the thermometer and read it's digital display. It read 96.5 which was within the normal realm of body temperatures. At least it wasn't a fever, truthfully Doctor just didn't care. "Well it looks to me like you're malnourished and your body is suffering because of it. The blood sample I took revealed a diminished white cell count and that you're lacking a healthy level of vitamins in your system, to be honest it's not that surprising given how long you were on your own."

Doctor reached into his desk and rooted around for a little before withdrawing two empty orange tubes which he then filled with pills from a larger container. "Luckily science stepped up to the plate and it's an easy fix. This bottle contains a multivitamin which should help your body recover and this bottle is a metabolism booster. Take them both when you wake up and within a week, assuming you eat regular meals in the mess and don't lie around all day in your bloody bed, you should start to have more energy and gain healthy weight." He said, plopping both pill bottles on the exam table. "Any questions?"

Malnourished? That made sense. Hareth had been basically living on nothing but mushrooms and the occasional trace amount of meat for a few months, and even before that wasn't eating particularly well. She wondered how Doctor could go from someone so loathsome to someone who reminded her of the doctors they had offworld. She still didn't like him, of course, but the shift in decorum and personality seemed to her to be more than a little strange.

Her eyes wandered to the multivitamin and the metabolism booster. She was never a fan of having to take pills, but they were going to make her stronger so she saw little point in argument.

"How many times a day do I have to take them?" she said. "Do I have to take them with food or anything?" She considered for a moment. "And is it okay if I look away when you give me the shots?"

"Take both once a day in the morning before your first meal, it shouldn't upset your stomach although the metabolism booster will more than likely make you hungrier than you're used to. You should expect to gain a little weight although providing that you burn off the energy from your meals it shouldn't come from fat. The multivitamin is just to make sure that you're getting what military rations, or whatever the mess cooks up, doesn't provide."

Doctor paused for a moment in order to word his next sentence carefully. It wasn't like him to care wether or not his patients agreed with his treatment and anyone that had ever let Doctor fix them knew that his bedside manner was rather lacking. However having a force sensitive woman-child rampaging around his nice almost clean office was not something he wanted, especially since he had just woken up a few hours ago.

"Yeah I guess you can look away." Doctor replied as he grabbed a syringe and began filling it with the viral solutions from the tiny vials of vaccines. "These needles are paper thin so I doubt you'll feel much of anything." That was a lie, one that would undoubtably bite him in the ass. The needles were fairly thin but anything injected directly into the muscle was going to end up stinging for a few days.

Nervously, Hareth kicked her legs. Even the thought of getting shots, even if she didn't have to look, made her anxious. She didn't know where her fear of needles came from, though on some level she assumed it was natural. Who wanted to have foreign, sharp objects put into their body?

She squeezed her eyes shut, gripping the table tightly and biting her lip. She had been in combat so many times, she had survived brushes with the Sith. Why was it that this scared her so much more than anything else?

The needle entered, and Hareth whimpered, and then glared at Doctor. However, she didn't throw a tantrum, mostly because she had a paralyzing fear of the needle breaking off in her arm and getting stuck there. That was something she never, ever wanted to happened, not in a million lifetimes.

"You said it wouldn't hurt!" she whined.
