Anyone going to be watching? It starts in about ten minutes, so I know this thread is short notice, but maybe a few people would be interested in discussion.

I don't really intend on this ending up being an edgy anti-Republican gang-up, and I'm not even really Republican. So if you're going to come in and just make jokes without context to the debate, then I'd prefer to keep that out.

What I'm mostly looking forward to is to see if CNN will address more social issues than the FOX debate did (obvious reasons why that was the case.) But I'm curious to see how Carson will do, since he's been surging in the polls lately. Ofcourse obligatorily we all can't wait to see what Trump says about anything.

But yeah. Try to keep it intelligent, and relevant. xox

Jeb all the way mang.

Rubio doesn't have the mojo or access to the donors, Trump is not going to win, Carson is the flavor of the month, and Scott Walker is one pratfall away from turning into Fargo. BLADE also should point out all these cold-blooded muthas are fanglike in their ability to lie (Democrats too) so these debates don't really matter, except to the extent that the media manufactures a narrative for the invisible primary (Of again, mainly donors, party nomenklatura and bureaucrats, and elite opinion makers.) Jeb is going to win, so what's the point?

Jeb hasn't said anything for me that really stands out. Nothing about him really impresses me. Right now, the two primary candidates I'm really interested in are Ben Carson & Rand Paul. Of course, I've been a Rand supporter since his first filibuster.

But honestly, Fiorina has kinda interested me. I haven't read too much on her issues, but she seems competent and has that 'refreshing outsider' appeal that people for some reason get off Trump. (Which I don't personally.)

This is around the time where canidates are starting to drop out (especially since there's like...15 of them) and I know Rick Perry has already bailed, I'm more curious of who will be next.

I'm still largely dissapointed by the rhetoric that plagues these debates. It's always about Russia, Iran, Israel, and now Syria. All our media wants to talk about is war and how committed the candidates would be to it. Economic issues are relatively untouched (minus a few off-topic points by the ones being questions), and Social issues are ignored all together, aside from the "Christianity is criminalized under Obama" spew.

That's like Dracula looking at another gangfanger and saying "daayum."

Mang, what was the last substantive debate for one of these things? Which one actually involved something in which the average voter could make a difference?

That's why Jeb is the mang. He's the generic establishment figure. Outsiders in this party system period never actually win. The ersatz qualities certainly do. Videlicet someone like Reagan: two-term governor, long contacts with East Coast donors or Goldwater: long term Senator, had West Coast millionaire support, or Bamz: classic corrupt Chicago product with deep contacts in the Democratic establishment. But the genuine article? Not so much.

That's why Jeb (or possibly Rubio) is going to win. He's more or less acceptable to all the factions. Sure grassroots supporters may hate him, the same way as a lot of base liberals hate Clinton. They're largely irrelevant to the process barring systemic shocks which in any case tend to favor more radical currents.
