Marcus walked down the halls of the Sith Academy, Korriban was a desert planet, full of ruins, but sacred for reasons unknown to Ononoe, though he figured he'd know by the end of the training. He knew nothing about his master, and preferred it this way, a way to adapt his abilities, fight a new opponent. He walked, his lightsaber jumping up and down as it hit his side. He had dabbled in the Dark Side, but only dabbled, he had yet to enter any major conflict on the Sith side, though he sought to ready himself.

He assumed the master would be much older than him, that is what he ASSUMED, at least. He also expected treatment in the most vicious manner, that also being what he wanted, to be what every Jedi feared, the bane of their Order. He arrived in the training area in which he was supposed to meet his master, he scanned the room for any sign of the person he was to meet.

Saryn Karoth walked easily down the corridors of the Academy that had become his home. He felt he knew every tile, every flagstone of the ancient complex. The Zabrak Warrior was on his way to meet his new apprentice, one who had been born and bred into the Sith Order. This intrigued him, one who has been around the Order this long and survived must not be a total idiot. He approached the designated room where he was to meet the human, and was pleased to find the Acolyte there and waiting for him to arrive. In truth, he had planned this; Saryn felt the student should wait on the master. He walked briskly into the room, and came to a stop opposite the Acolyte.

"Let me be clear," Saryn said coldly, "I am here to make something useful of you, or kill you trying. If you do survive, you will come out the other side strong. A true Sith. But, as it stands right now, you are nothing." The Sith Warrior took great care to fill these last three words with as much contempt as he could muster; which was quite a lot. "Now, whelp, let me see what I have to work with. Attack me. Use whatever method you can to kill me." Saryn sneered. "Don't worry, you won't hurt me." While the Zabrak said this, he telekinetically pulled his saber from his belt and into his left hand, igniting it the second it touched his palm. He stood, saber at his side, gazing coldy at his apprentice.

Marcus nodded to his Zabrak master. "Yes, master." He activated his lightsaber, sprinting towards him.

(Short post, lost muse)

Saryn stood, unmoving, as his apprentice ran headlong towards him. He took note of the human's personality, his eagerness bordering on the foolhardy. The Zabrak waited for the attack.

As he reached his master, Marcus brought his saber upwards, in an attempt to hit his master's saber.

Saryn smiled as he blocked his apprentice's blow easily, their sabers locked. "Not bad, boy, you've got some strength to you," Saryn seethed over the hiss of the lightsabers colliding between them. "But physical strength alone is not nearly enough. Direct attacks may work on the younglings, but against a real opponent, you need to be a little more creative." As his speech ended, the warrior suddenly pushed his entire weight into his saber, drawing a bit of the Force from waround him to increase the impact. This attack would push the Acolyte a fair ways back at best, sending him sprawling to the ground at worst.
