Fett Battle Anthem

WHO ARE WE

Clan Fett has always had a solid and well-earned reputation as warriors and soldiers. In ancient history, there were great men such as Cassus, Jango and Boba Fett, shaping the fate of not just our name and clan, but of the entire Mandalorian people. These men were warlords, bounty hunters, mercenaries and great soldiers. They revitalized the Mandalorian culture with their actions. And it is in their image that we continue to this day to shape and carry ourselves.

These names will forever be inscribed in the annals of Clan Fett's history as its protectors - its paragons, if you will. For we owe these great men much, more than could ever be repaid simply by retelling their tales of greatness. It is because of them that we are what we are today, that our name carries the weight that it does. We are their descendants, but we are also their heritage. We owe it to them to be worthy of this legacy.

Clan Fett is, and has always been, soldiers.

We serve the galaxy as mercenaries and bounty hunters, it is true. Our flesh, our blood, is a commodity among powerbrokers and crime lords. It has given us an unfortunate reputation as paid killers and ruthless henchmen. But contrary to this belief, we do not carry ourselves as dogs of war or hunters of men. With courage, loyalty, and dignity, we carry ourselves as Mandalorians. As Fetts. Those who have seen Fett Infantry in war have come to know, and fear this.

The Mandalorian Clan Wars did not come upon us with mercy. By the hands of our ancient enemies, Clan Montross, we lost our Aliit'alor, our homeworld, and far too many of our brothers and sisters. Those who survived the war were thrust into yet another hell by the Sith firebombing campaign. Our clan was scattered, broken.

But we have returned.

On the world of Lok, we have rebuilt our clan to some strength. We have bided our time, swelled our numbers. And with every day that passes, we grow stronger, more prepared for the wars that lie ahead of us. Because for a Fett, war always lies ahead. It is our destiny. It's what we were born, bred to do.

Because we're Mandalorians.

Chapter 1: Wheat and Blood

C
lan Fett...
The name of this clan has long been associated with the most important of Mandalorian virtues, virtues such as strength, honor, courage, and dignity. There is no Mandalorian clan who more perfectly represent the Mandalorian people. And with such names as Cassus, Jango and Boba in the annals of our clan, how could they?

The clan of Fett has always been represented among two groups in particular. Farmers and mercenaries. Born on the Mandalorian world of Concord Dawn, the clan were farmers tilling the earth far earlier than they were soldiers, however. Just as we as Mandalorians have war in our blood, we have, as Fetts, farming in our blood. This is not something of shame, for without farmers to provide food, even the mightiest of warriors will fall.

And without soldiers to protect their farms, even the most productive of farmers will eventually fall to the preying hands of his enemies.

It is this understanding, this symbiosis between farming and fighting, that has always been the guiding light of the clan. In times of war, those who have called themselves Mandalore have known no finer warriors than the Fetts. And in times of peace, the clan has always made its home on Concord Dawn, the planet where it was born.

Concord Dawn

When Mandalore Vencu fell in battle, the Mandalorian people scattered, divided. Clans went their own ways, the Mandalorian nation fracturing and crumbling. Clan Fett returned to their traditional clan homes on Concord Dawn to build their strength and protect their homelands. But the internal turmoil and strife that the Mandalorians underwent did not spare Clan Fett.

On the contrary, Clan Fett quickly became embroiled in a war with their ancient enemy, Clan Montross. Montross had built its strength for a long time, waiting for just this moment. While Clan Fett fought valiantly at Mandalore's side in the war, Clan Montross offered only the minimal required manpower in support of the war effort, instead choosing to bide their time and build their strength.

Their patience paid off, and after Mandalore's death came their opportunity to take vengeance on their ancient hated nemesis, Clan Fett. With the intent of subjegating the Fetts and claim Concord Dawn as their own, the Montross staged an invasion of the planet. The conflict that ensued was to become known as the Concordian Clan War.

The Fetts had never been very interested in or trained in space warfare. They had little in terms of a military navy to speak of. Their focus and skill had always and only ever lied in fighting on the ground as infantry and elite shock troopers. Because of this there was little that Clan Fett could do to stop Clan Montross from landing on Concord Dawn.

But when the Montrossian troops disembarked their carriers, they quickly found out what the Fetts could do. In them they faced an overwhelmingly deadly foe, so well-versed in ground combat operations that the Montrossians could not withstand their continual counter-assaults. Their rapid shock attack operations crushed the Montrossian resistance. Sabotage units destroyed any air support the Montrossians had to rely on, and with the aid of locals, the enemies of the Fetts could not even feel safe behind their own lines.

The Concordian Clan War

Clan Fett won the Concordian Clan War. Clan Montross fled out of Mandalorian space never to return.

But while evacuating, they executed a deadly and devastating plan. As their carriers scrambled to get off Concord Dawn, an army of a hundred Montross supercommandos were left behind. Their job; revenge. An assassination. One final deadly stroke to Clan Fett, from a dying enemy.

What followed was the Battle of Jaster's Reach.

While the Fetts had won the war, the Battle of Jaster's Reach was a tremendous loss that destroyed Clan Fett completely. Jaster's Reach was the capital of Clan Fett, a military stronghold guarding hundreds of Fett homesteads providing shelter for more than a thousand Mandalorians.

However, as victory came to the Fetts, the urgent cry for help from the civilian population left homeless and starving, forced Aliit'alor'Vhett to make a decision. By lowering the defenses of his traditional capital, the clan leader managed to gather the troops necessary to conduct a huge relief effort, providing food, clean water, and shelter for the victims of the war. There was no other choice. But by doing so, he also doomed himself and his clan.

The Montrossian Supercommandos launched a devastating surprise attack on Jaster's Reach. The Fetts, outnumbered but not outgunned, fought valiantly against their enemies to the very last body. But it was futile. At the end of the battle, the leader of Clan Fett lay dead with his men. Though few Montrossians survived, those who did fled like rats off-world, victorious in their task.

Jaster's Reach

It was not long after this that Clan Fett fell into disrepair. It was not only the death of its leader that caused this. The heavy toll of the war, the damage their planet had taken, and the chaos spreading throughout the Mandalorian world all played their parts. But at the end of the day, Clan Fett scattered. Some became mercenaries, gun thugs for hire to the wealthiest Hutt lord. Some rebuilt their homesteads and became farmers.

But the clan itself was gone, and its once fine capital a mere burnt-out ghosttown.

The Rebirth of Clan Fett
They say Clan Fett is eternal. It is true. No matter how many times the Mandalorian people seem to be broken, Clan Fett somehow always seems to resurface sooner or later. In a way it is the sign of all great Mandalorian clans - Fett, Renelo, Ordo, Rodarch, Skirata. They have all been thought gone at one point or another. But they all, always, resurface, sooner or later.

Now once again, the name of Fett is whispered throughout the galaxy. It is a rumor with no source, a fleeting whisper bringing hope to some, and fear to others.

They say there is a horde of soldiers, donning Mandalorian armors. Mercenaries, who fight bearing the mark of wheat and blood. The symbol once so proudly worn by Cassus. Jango. Boba. A symbol associated with strength beyond measure. Virtue beyond belief. It is the Mark of Clan Fett.

Have they returned?

Who knows. It is only a rumor after all...

Once of Clan Fett

Members of Clan Fett:

Verus Fett, a man living as a prizefighter in the bloodpits of Nar Shaddaa. An alcoholic and a painkiller addict, he is still renowned among the rabble of Nar Shaddaa as quite a fighter. He wears the clan symbol of Clan Fett tattooed on the right side of his neck. Recently he's risen above his meager Nar Shaddaa peerage, and taken the mantle of leadership of the Clan.

Adeen Fett, a mercenary working as an enforcer and bodyguard of the Hutts on Nar Shaddaa. He's tough, and he's deadly with a blaster. He wears the name of Fett with pride, and he walks a path many Fetts before him have walked. He joins forces with Verus Fett to reunite the clan as mercenaries.

Valarian Fett, a farmer on Lok, of Fett heritage. He has a harsh, but strong sense of justice, and has seen battle on over a dozen worlds. He works as a farmer on his ranch while waiting for the time when Clan Fett will reunite under a strong leadership.

Adenn Esio, an honorary member and friend of Clan Fett, who has a past history with Verus Fett. The duo together developed the military hand-to-hand combat techniques known as Kyr'amur. With great courage and skill, Adenn is an agent of the free clans of Mandalorians, serving them as a scout and spy against those who would work against the greater interest of the Mando'ade.

Owen Koga, a skilled bounty hunter who came into contact with Clan Fett on Lok when chasing a Christophian fugitive, and decided to join the clan. He's an honorable warrior with great skill. No doubt he will make a fierce Mandalorian, and a loyal member of Clan Fett. He is also trained in the use of the Force, as a former padawan of the Jedi Order. While many Mandalorians frown on force users, Clan Fett accepts any into its ranks who adhere to the Resol'nare, to honor, and to loyalty. Owen Koga certainly does this.

Cordé Fett, a reckless young Mandalorian, she's the niece of a renowned Fett rally master named Gavin Fett. She's earned quite the reputation as a deadly gunslinger, and is known to have seen combat on many occasions, most notably as a mercenary in Atho City on Manaan during the Imperial invasion of the planet. She's a very valued member of the clan.

Kelas Syn'ast, a mechanical genius and a nomadic survivalist who has crossed paths with Clan Fett and decided to join its ranks. He provides a base of knowledge to the clan that most of its members lack, in starship operations. A very valuable member of the clan and one that is prepared to put his life on the line to reach his goals, like a true Mandalorian.

Ceryn Kelborn, a Mandalorian hunter who's been raised in the harsh bosom of the Mandalorian homeworld. Her family were murdered in the Sith mass bombardment. Invited to join Clan Fett, she brings a great deal to the clan in the form of experience and knowledge. Her tracking skills are the best, something that has very often served Clan Fett well.

Verita Kelborn, a mentally unstable female Mandalorian, and member of Clan Fett, who seems to seek something more than the Mandalorian life of a mercenary. Hopefully she will find it with Clan Fett. Raised by a Mandalorian mercenary, she despises a fair fight, showing that she has a good sense of tactics on her head, something appreciated by Clan Fett.

Tracyn Fett, a Mandalorian whose actions are determined by his conscience rather than pragmatism. Born in Clan Rodarch, he's an idealistic young man with a good head on his shoulders, and a bone to pick with the Imperials, after the death of his sister, a member of Clan Renelo. If this is his will, Clan Fett will do its best to see it happen.

Sōng Xīnghuā Fett, a female Mandalorian of Clan Fett's brothers and sisters on Zhenxing, she is a deadly martial artist and warrior monk whose combat prowess lies mainly with melee combat. When her people were being threatened on Zhenxing, Clan Fett welcomed them with open arms, as they would any Mandalorian.

Cana Arkiss, a Shistavanen hunter who was once a slave, but found his freedom. In Clan Fett, he found a family, and he came to us to learn the ways of the warrior. Since, the clan has strived to teach him the Mandalorian way, and Cana has taken to it like a fish in water. He is a very promising new member of the Clan, and one we are lucky to call our brother.

U'garu Akanaro, a young verde who joined the Clan after the Mandalorian genocide. Deadly with the blades, he is recovering still from an eye injury in his youth that rendered him blind on one eye. His hate for the Imperium is only rivalled by his passion to find survivors of his lost family. Clan Fett, as his brothers in arms, will if we can, do everything to see it done.

Brad Fett, a former bounty hunter who turned to the traditional Fett life of farming, before it was ripped apart by the dogs of the Empire. He was once a father, but even this, the Imperium took from him. Now he like so many of us, seek vengeance for the genocide on our people.

Sephirium Romaneri, a loyal Mandalorian who believes in strength as the true virtue of his people. He seeks the thrill of violence and battle, but he also greatly enjoys the company of his fellow Mandos. He is a good man.

Shadow Fett, a clone of Jango Fett, Shadow was never activated during the Clone Wars, and spent a good deal of his time frozen in a test tube. When he woke up, he found his place among his kin in Clan Fett. Bloodline will earn you no extra favors among Mandalorians, but Shadow has more than earned his place in the clan with actions alone.

Kell isn't a member yet, that will occur eventually, he is going to be an indie bounty hunter/merc/assassin for a time until he can forge his own armor in honor of his fallen brothers and Rav Bralor.

I'm thinking about instead of implementing a rank system within Clan Fett, I'll implement something similar with positions instead.

There won't be many. What it basically boils down to is, there'll be an Aliit'alor, obviously.

There'll also be a Weapon Master, which is basically the man responsible for training the clan, especially new recruits, in combat. A drill sergeant of sorts if you will, but with more focus on basic combat training than on cleaning the floor with toothbrushes. Whoever is chosen will be the one Verus considers one of the best soldiers in the clan.

Then there will be squad leaders and soldiers.

Possibly also a few advisors of Verus'. We'll see about that.

But that's way way way into the future. Right now we still need another character member (Norby hint hint. XD ) to even be approved. And then starts the rebuilding effort.

There's actually a sign up form now in the second post. It's temporary; Once the clan is approved, I'll have a proper Sign-Up thread up. For now, that'll do, and just post here if you want to join. :D

As a side-note, when this clan begins to look more like a clan, there are at least three things I plan to do;

The first thing is build them a temporary and hidden home base somewhere in the Outer Rim. Right now I'm looking at Dagobah, because that world is hostile, and it'll keep them on their toes. Alternatively it'll be an agricultural world where they can farm and shit, but I doubt it.

Second thing is restart an old project of mine; The Fett Special Warfare Academy. Basically, a boot camp where Fett and other Mandalorian soldiers (and possibly very few well selected outsiders) will be allowed to undergo military training specialization classes. The instructors will be veteran mercenaries, and they will also teach soldiers military tactics, skills and techniques of other, foreign alien and planetary militaries, to give Fetts an edge in war. The Academy will likely be built on Dagobah, and remain there even after the third plan.

Third thing is obvious; Get past that blockade, and resettle on the ancestral Fett home planet of Concord Dawn, where the Fetts were always meant to be.

In terms of the hidden settlement; What state is Naboo in at this time? Dagobahs more of giant swamp/rain forest type of terrain. I was thinking Naboo would have more of an open field and plains type of terrain, better for fields.

Although, Dagobah is on a main trade route, which would be an advantage.

You make fair points.

The charm with Dagobah is that it will keep them on their heels, and is a perfect place to put soldiers in gruelling training.

The charm with Naboo, aside from the chance at shooting Gungans, is that the Fetts are mainly focused militarily on infantry operations, and Naboo would be an "easier" place to train them in that than Dagobah, because there's more open (and solid) ground. But that also makes them more exposed, and while building their strength, the clan will want to stay hidden and under the radar as much as possible. :D

That seems a very fair point. I suppose upon Dagobah we could always use some other the other smaller planets among the same trade route as an economic asset so not much would go a miss. Dagobah seems the perfect in terms of cover.

Yup, there is also that, the trade routes and the economic benefit of being close to them.

There is however Dark Jedi on Dagobah, so it would not be completely without problems to take the planet.

As a side-note, I had a spur of creativity and whipped up a summary on Fett military doctrines. Take a look if that sort of thing interest you, good folks! :D Foreign relations to come tomorrow!

Glad to hear that. :D

Obviously, this wont count entirely until the Clan has been IC reformed, but it will be the basis of how they conduct military operations.

The reason the Space Navy is a bit behind is twofold; A) because as said, Fett has always had focus on infantry and ground warfare, which they are devastatingly deadly at, so it only stands to reason they'd be lacking in the Space Navy department, and B) I know jack shit about space warfare.

When the time comes, I plan to change this by having some of Renelo's (and the other clans') peeps, perhaps, with Sisk's permission, give lectures and training courses at the Fett Special Warfare Academy, in space warfare.

Updated with Foreign Relations. Most of it is pretty obvious, nothing revolutionary. Clan Fett hates the Empire and it hates Mandal Motors. That's pretty much all there is to it. :CSly

Just a heads up, the Bogan already have a presence on Dagobah, a Dark Temple and everything. Might want to keep that in mind before trying to establish a foothold there. We aren't friendly neighbors. :)

Oh and the Imperial Knights had a base on Naboo, so the reformed Marshalls and through them the Rebels might have a presence there. Might want to check up with Cassa about that.
