CLAN DARK HONOR (Aliit Dha Ijaat)
Personal Lore
HISTORYPersonal Lore
The roots of Aliit Dha Ijaat (Clan Dark Honor) are said to have come from an ancient clan of on the world of Roon. This clan is one of the traditional in terms of their honor, their code and their rites. They are known among other Mandalorians as truly honorable, but in the darkest of ways…
Clan Dark Honor has been at the forefront of every known Mandalorian conflict for millennia, always at the side of their clan leaders. Never once was a member of Clan Dark Honor seen arguing with their leader...ever. However, they are a traditional clan. There has never been room for those “Mandalorians” that live out differing philosophies. As such, they fanatically believe that Sith, Jedi or any other culture are never able to successfully fill the role of a true, traditional Mandalorian. It would be impossible for them to follow the Resol’nare. This is especially true for their cultural leaders, as the concept of Manda’lor has begun to take shape. Clan Dark Honor believes that Mandalorians do not serve at the whim of others—they serve the Mandalorian people.
ETHOS
Not all Mandalorian clans follow a strict ethos like Clan Dark Honor. They are one of the most traditional of Mandalorian clans and as such follow the Resol'nare and the Canons of Honor.
MANDO'A MANTRA
Education and armor,
Self-defense, our tribe,
Our language, our leader-
All help us survive.
The Five Actions (early iteration of the Resol'nare)
1. Wear armor
2. Speak the language
3. Defend yourself and your families
4. Raise your children as Mandalorians
5. Contribute to the clan's welfare
*nuCanon refers to a code that Mandalorians follow. This is canon and the closest code i could find. Again, this is just a clan not all of Mando'ade. It would be awesome if all Mando'ade followed this, but perhaps that is something to work for.
Canons of Honor
The Canons of Honor are ancient texts that dictate the way that Mandalorians achieve honor and glory on the battlefield. Among those ways are loyalty to one's clan, involving oneself in battles, and advancing individual combat prowess.
*This is all the canon information available on Canons of Honor (SW Insider-Issue #80)
STRENGTHS OF CLAN DARK HONOR
Beskar’gam
Pride. Tradition. Those are the reasons why Clan Dark Honor wears their suits of armor. The warriors of Clan Dark Honor take great care in the construction of their beskar’gam. In fact, they are renowned for their skill in crafting some of the more intricate sets of Mandalorian armor in existence. Using techniques from the distant past and the most state-of-the-art tech available, suits of armor worn by Clan Dark Honor are designed specifically for the enemies they will face, be it the troopers of the Republic, the revered Jedi or the dastardly Sith. Each set of armor is unique to the wearer it was created for. In traditional Mandalorian custom, the colors are specific to the wearers’ needs and desires. Recently, however, many vod of Dha Ijaat have begun wearing gold and purple, the original colors of the clan millennia ago.
Unique Elite Commando Training
Clan Dark Honor is a well trained Mandalorian clan. Members have died attempting to complete their training regimen. The Elders are comprised of Elders from other misplaced and near extinct clans that flocked to the banner of Clan Dark Honor. After years of trial and error, the clan Elders came up with a regimen that prepared them to face nearly any enemy—the elders trusted no faction, so it was necessary to prepare their warriors against all comers: Jedi, Republic forces, and Sith. Their blasters, slugthrowers, projectile weapons, blades and armor are all specifically designed to have the flexibility to “cater” to the enemies they will face. Every member of Clan Dark Honor is required to show proficiency in many combat styles and techniques.
The training does not only extend to weapons and hand-to-hand proficiency. The Elders of Clan Dark Honor inundate their members with the strategy, culture and tactics of every fighting force in the galaxy, including other Mandalorian clans. The clan is then further divided into different “concentrations” where the clan can utilize the strengths of the individual members. For example, some of the concentrations may be intelligence, special operations, piloting, assassination and the list goes on.
Dark Honor
Perhaps more than anything, this is what separates Clan Dark Honor from its peers among the Mandalorian Clans. Clan Dark Honor is a fervent adherent to the Mandalorian code. Its history has always placed this clan unwaveringly loyal to the Mandalorian people. A few clans have whispered that Clan Dark Honor treads too deeply in the underbelly of society and the underworld, but none deny their effectiveness when it comes to supporting their leader and Mandalorian society as a whole. Another facet of “dark honor” is that even though this Mandalorian clan is as traditional as they come, they are quite unconventional in the art of warfare—they are in it to win. A Mandalorian from this clan never goes into a fight expecting to lose…he or she has done their homework, knows their enemies weaknesses and does not hesitate to exploit them. This certainly does not imply they win all their combat engagements--that is not the case. It is a common misconception for the uneducated to make about Clan Dark Honor that they possess “honor” in the traditional sense of the word. Some associate “honor” to be the kind that a Jedi Knight might possess, but this could not be farther from the truth. The honor that Clan Dark Honor possesses lies only with family, Clan and Mando’ade. One facet that could be taken as a weakness for this clan is the fact that if they give their word, they will always keep it…unless the promise was broken by the other party.

Clan Philosophy on the Resol'nare and the Canons of Honor
Clan Dark Honor follows the Resol'nare rigidly. The Canons of Honor are also given respect, but prowess on the battlefield comes in many forms…
Faction Relations
Clan Dark Honor does not side with any faction. If they had their way, the Mandalorians would be united under one banner be a force unto themselves standing side by side all the Mandalorian clans. They have not made enemies of a faction…yet. It should be noted that they have poor relations with any Mandalorian clans that "kow tow" to any major faction. Those who allow themselves to be led by a Sith, Jedi, or any other non-Mandalorian are not respected and shunned as weak by Clan Dark Honor. Of course, with a current Sith "Mandalore", they may come into opposition to the Sith Empire sooner rather than later...
Current Status
Clan Dark Honor is made up of less than a dozen Mandalorians. As a clan, they work as mercenaries, selective in the contracts they undertake. Conflict has diminished their numbers. However, as more and more Mandalorians are drawn to the “old ways”, Clan Dark Honor and other traditional clans become an attractive group to join.
INTENT
Clan Dark Honor provides a clan for the players of Mandalorians that wish to play traditional Mandalorians and not simply mercenaries with cool armor. It is meant to be one example of clans that really celebrate the rich Mandalorian culture that has been written about while still staying true to what we know of canon Mandalorians.
