Ciutric IV was not a planet Darth Draugr was keeping on his radar, but he had been assigned a new mission here on this planet. It was a political mission, something he hadn't done in some time. Especially not as the lead Sith on the mission. The details he had received let him know all he needed to know. The planet's leader had died, now two different politicians had been contesting one another for their spot as the new Prime Minister of the planet. Turns out, Tag Merand had already wanted to side with the Sith. Smart man. Talik Vhol on the other hand was not as smart as Tag. Draugr's job was clear. Rid the election of Talik Vhol. Or get him to side with the Sith should he win, but of course we all know Draugr doesn't negotiate.

Arriving on the planet would be a vessel containing both Darth Draugr, dressed in a finer attire for this mission, and Sith Champion Aadya. She had fought alongside Draugr formerly known as Xeno. She showed great skill and she seemed better suited to speak to the higher class individuals during this mission. She was after all, the apprentice of Darth Stolas.

"Aadya. Do you have experience speaking to politicians?"

The Zabrak would look to her as he spoke. The question was a matter of clarity. She was selected for this mission to go alongside Draugr, but he was unsure if she had experience. This would either take a lot of articulation, or despicable acts. One was favored by the Lord, though the other was clearly the first option. Draugr would begin walking out of the vessel that transported them to the capital building where they would come to meet with the politician Talik Vhol. It would be smart to first offer him a place among the Sith. If he refused however, that would be when the Sith get to have their fun.

"I want you to take initiative on this mission. You are a fierce fighter, and I am glad to have you come along, but this is also experience for you to have with talking to the political joes. It would be good for you to have this on your record. I will back you on everything through this discussion."

As the two made their way towards the building, a man stood with a sign that said 'Welcome Darth Draugr and Aadya Rasheer.' Behind the man would be a small vessel that resembled that of a limo. Definitely owned by Talik it seemed. It was good he was willing to speak with the two Sith rather than be an arrogant prick and sending them away as the election was happening in a few hours.

"Oh look, we're welcomed. Let us be on our way then Lady Rasheer."

Things never really seemed to slow down for Aadya. A lot of that was probably on purpose if she were being honest; no time to be alone with your own thoughts if you were always doing something, anything, it didn't really matter. Luckily the Order hardly ever had a shortage of shit that needed to get done.

The ride to the planet with Darth Draugr was quiet and uneventful, something which Aadya was happy about. The last time she had seen the Zabrak was on Dantooine, and Aadya really didn't like thinking about Dantooine. She was glad the Darth didn't seem keen to discuss it, though thinking on it, she probably shouldn't have been surprised all things considered.

No, not really. Aadya responded to the Darth's question. She didn't sound timid or embarrassed by her answer, it was simply the truth. I do have experience talking my way out of having a blaster barrel put in my mouth, dancing around the truth, and generally just being vague as shit. Aadya smirked at Draugr and gave a little chuckle. Which is essentially the same thing, I think.

Once they had exited their transport, Aadya would smooth out her clothes and double check her general appearance in the reflection of a nearby window. She had dressed for meeting a politician, or at least she thought so. Getting a good look at Draugr, Aadya raised an eyebrow at his choice of attire. The Sith were so fucking weird, man.

As Aadya entered the limo with Draugr sliding in shortly behind, the two would be presented immediately with food and alcohol. Picking up a bottle, Aadya inspected it before nodding in appreciation.

This is actually pretty good stuff, She said, pouring some of it in a martini glass. Might as well take the senator up on his hospitality.

By the time the limo pulled up to Talik Vhol's campaign HQ, Aadya had finished her drink. She limited herself to just one, just enough to get her headspace right. You always felt a little bit more confident after a good drink.

Getting out of the limo, Aadya and Draugr would be escorted inside. It was a pretty big building and after a few minutes of swift walking, they were lead to the campaign war room. Talik Vhol was sitting in a high backed office chair, listening to his advisors tell him whatever it was that advisors said.

His face read calm, cool and collected but Aadya almost swore she could hear the man's heart nearly beating out of his chest. He was nervous. He probably should have been.

Good afternoon, Senator. Thank you for meeting with us. Aadya said, a smile on her face. You had to be careful with fake smiles, though. Hold it for too long and after awhile its just teeth. I'm Aadya Rasheer and this is my colleague, Lord Draugr.

Out of the corner of her eye, Aadya could see the wide forms of security move into more appropriate positions. She didn't read them as actively hostile, just getting prepared. It seemed that Talik knew full well what hew as dealing with here.

Let me get straight to the point, Senator. Tag Morand has already promised Ciutric IV to the Sith should he win this election. Aadya said coolly, her voice measured and matter-of-fact. But we think you're better for the job. For one, I think you're smarter than Mr. Morand.

Another smile, though this one felt faintly predatory, showing her elongated Firrerrian canines. She paused for a moment to allow Talik to come to terms with what was happening. He was going to get an ultimatum he would not like.

Or at least you have the opportunity to show us you are. Ally with the Sith and we can assure you a swift and decisive victory. Not to mention, whatever else it is that you might desire of us.

Aadya brought her gaze to meet Talik's, dark embers of "fuck around and find out" dancing behind her eyes. She would wait patiently for the man's answer.

Draugr was glad that this would be more or less the first political experience for Aadya. She may not be his apprentice but he wished her good fortune in the future. She was skilled and she only needed experience in a few more areas before she was ready to pass on to Champion from Acolyte. The two entered the limo and enjoyed their ride to the suite that Talik Vhol awaited them in. While in the limo Draugr would give Aadya a little bit of a code word should she feel she needs it.

"If you feel things aren't going good in there and you can't handle it.. give me the code words: For the Empire. Though I am confident you won't need them."

She would know what to do. Druagr will give input while in the room and would be sure she does not get overwhelmed but he was placing the fate of Ciutric's possible leader in her hands with this mission. After a short while the limo arrived to the campaign HQ. The building was bigger than necessary, but all people who think they're bigger than they are want rather large things.

Talik remained on his chair as he would listen to the Acolyte speak. She spoke calmly and with a very keen tone. Draugr was impressed with the verbiage she used, though he would prefer superior as opposed to colleague but she was still half right.

"Good afternoon to the two of you as well, please make yourselves comfortable."

Talik took a drink of water out of the glass next to where he was seated, and then cleared his throat. He seemed fairly nervous, and Draugr could sense every beat of the man's heart through the force. Aadya shouldn't have a hard time dealing with this.

"You like to get right down to the point. Well if I'm being honset my main concern with siding with the Sith is that my people will be brought into a war with three other governments. Well two and a group of religious people but still. By remaining independent my people do not have to worry about the war between Sith and FWA/NR."

A fair point, but still not an answer that the Sith are looking for. As irritating as it is to hear, Draugr expected this and he was sure Aadya did as well, so he would just take a seat and lean back into the chair as he figured this would take a little longer than anticipated.

"We understand your concern but please listen to what Lady Rasheer has to offer you."

Lord Draugr would motion his hand to point over to Aadya with his palm facing up and his fingers relaxed. His face had a slight smirk on it and he nodded to Aadya with an assuring look to let her know she can continue speaking.

Aadya listened to Talik, making a point to at least make it seem she was giving his concerns genuine consideration. She nodded knowingly when he mentioned wanting to avoid war and when he finally finished up, Aadya let out a sigh and brought her gaze to to rest firmly on Talik's.

I understand your concerns, Senator. Aadya said, her face turning somewhat sympathetic but somehow still retaining its edge. But to think you can simply avoid war by refusing to pick a side is a naïve outlook at best.

Pausing for a moment, Aadya considered her next words carefully. There was an argument that continuing to coax the Senator into coming to the right conclusion on his own was the preferred approach.

The flipside being, of course, bringing the hammer down and not further wasting anyone's time. It was an interesting crossroads, though Aadya figured that the nuclear option would always be an option, but the diplomatic one could simply vanish at any time.

Whether you like it or not, war will come to Ciutric IV eventually. I think a more prudent consideration would be: whether you want to face it alone, or with the protection of the Sith at your back? Aadya tilted her head and clicked her tongue as if to say "the choice here should be quite obvious." The New Republic and Free Worlds Alliance are useless, gummed up by idiotic bureaucracy and inept officials. Do you really think that when you truly need it, they will be able to give you what the Sith offer so willingly and without expectation of reciprocity?

Aadya kept her tone measured and professional, though just a little tinge of "don't be a fucking moron" still managed to slip through. She wouldn't bother trying to convince the Senator for much longer. Morand was a clear plan B, but was still a plan the Sith were more than happy to go with.
