Christophsis Calling

Ocelot was on Christophsis on private business, the planet being relatively space since the Accord-Republic relations were fairly high. Still, the lack of a real Republic presence in the system meant that he was concealing the unusually light armor he was wearing, a mere chest plate compared to his normal full-body suit. He was to meet with some kind of high-ranking official, one who Republic personnel couldn't be seen dealing with. Usually a hired mercenary would do this kind of thing, but those type of people couldn't always be trusted with physical assets. It was only a simple data chip transfer, something that could have otherwise been done digitally.

Walking down the unique, glassy streets of the upmarket city district, he would have to keep an eye out for any hostiles that could have got word of the deal. Despite this being an Accord controlled planet, a Republic soldier could never be too careful outside of actual friendly space...

Its a beautiful planet, but Zarl is not here to look around. He needed some cash to earn more, and this was the best way he could find. He got tipped from an old friend, Zarl has no idea how he gets his information, but he doesn't ask questions. Its supposed to be a chip transfer, and the best way to find it is to hide in plain sight. He was amazed by the streets, and all the markets but he had to keep his guard up. He looks around to see anyone suspicious or with expensive clothes. There was almost no republic activity here, and most people didn't even pay attention to them so it shouldn't be too hard to do it silently. And thats the way he likes it.

Up ahead of him, Ocelot saw what he presumed to be his contact casually leaned against the side of a building, keeping an eye on the crowd as they passed the street corner. The Duros man stood with his hands in the pockets of a gray coat, wearing some kind of rebreather over his mouth. Slowly passing the man, the lieutenant made a subtle beckon at his contact and spoke In a gruff tone. "Nice jacket. Walk with me."

The jacket complement was the pre-arranged safety word, it was hard to trust anybody these days. The Duros gave a small, short nod and joined the crowd at Ocelot's side. "You are here for the chip, no?" As the Duros spoke, he held out a small box without his gaze straying towards Ocelot. Reaching out and taking the chip, he quickly glanced at the crowds behind him before splitting off from the Duros into a secluded alleyway, preparing to contact Republic command.

After a while of searching, he saw two men. One of them was holding a box out to the other. The other man grabbed something out of it, which was looking very small. Zarl was sure he found what he was looking for. The man went away into an alley. Zarl didn't hesitate a second and changed his course, making sure the other man wouldn't see him. He decided to act it casual, and was leaning against a wall, within hear distance from the most-likely republic agent.

Reaching into his jacket, Ocelot took out a small comlink. Pressing down on a button, he began to quietly speak into the device after a short beep. "Command, I have the package. I'll get the del-" Pausing, the lieutenant saw a young looking man leaning against the side of the alleyway. Either he hadn't noticed the civilian on his entrance to the alley, or he'd been followed. "I'll check in soon. Ocelot out." Approaching the man, he made himself look as imposing and serious as possible. Somebody you wouldn't want to mess with. "Can I help you?"

"Command, I have the package..."
Zarl got the right person, luckily. Now he had to find out a way to get it from him. His mind was filling with ideas; pickpocketing, hit and r-... The man was walking towards him. "Alright, just act casual..." Zarl thought to himself. This guy looked serious, and was most likely not gonna mess around.
"Can I help you?" he said.

"I... uh... no, no, I'm alright, just thinking and stuff, you know?" he said nervously.
Zarl knew that was not casual at all, and had no idea what to do.

He was a bad liar. The man stammered in front of him as Ocelot slowly pushed his jacket aside to reveal the rifle on his hip, casually placing his right hand down by its trigger. "Hm. How about you go think somewhere else, huh kid?" The GAR lieutenant said, speaking in a friendly manner with a subtle threatening undertone. "I've got a call I need to make and I'd prefer it if I didn't have someone listening in." He doubted this guy knew what he was dealing with here, the data on his chip was immeasurably important and would surely carry a titanic bounty.

"What makes this street forbidden? I've got all rights to stay here." the thief said, trying to look and speak as intimidating with his leather hoodie as he could. Of course, he had his hand near his knife. He knew how to use it and had some experience fighting with it. He was hoping the man wouldn't see his knife, but it's hard to cover a weapon holster. "Just stay calm and act casual..." he whispered to himself.

"To you it is, buddy." Ocelot got up in the man's face, his expression transforming into one of aggression. "If you value your life, find somewhere else to loiter." Of course, he had no intention to kill this guy, ill intentions or not, but hopefully he'd be intimidating enough. Staring into the man's face with his one good eye, he waited for him to back off, keeping on hand next to the knife and blaster rifle on his hip in case the situation escalated.

"He thinks hes better than me, that I'm just some guy with no cash. I'm sick of people underestimating me..." Zarl thought to himself. He started breathing faster, and his face turned angrier with every breath. Zarl was ready to attack, and he grabbed his knife.

Ocelot saw the man go for his knife and draw it and without another work he jumped backwards into a combat stance. Leaving his knife in its holster, he raised his arms in a defensive guard, ready to intercept any incoming attacks. He'd fought for years and a humble street fight wouldn't be a challenge. This kid could do with being taught a lesson.

Zarl had his knife in his hand, and had no idea what he had just gotten into. This guy was a professional, he immediately defended himself.
Zarl attempted to stab him near the heart.

The kid made a clumsy swing towards Ocelot, it was evident he wasn't the most experienced of fighters. As his opponent's arm swung out to him, the lieutenant struck his forearm to knock the blow of course before pulling him in and unleashing a quick succession of three powerful jabs to the chest.

The blow against his arm knocked the knife out of his hand, now about 7 feet away. Going after his knife would take too long, and he was even worse at unarmed fighting. He had no idea what to do, so just stood there, nervously.

Glancing at the knife on the floor and then back to the kid, Ocelot waited for him to do something. "Your form is sloppy. Think twice about who you mess with next time, kid. There are people around here that would've just shot you." He spoke sternly, this guy was only young and it would be no use to keep fighting him. Placing his right hand back on his rifle, he snarled at the man. "Now scram before I change my mind."

Zarl needed this chip, but was not gonna quit so easily, and lied; "You know what... maybe you are right. I'll try to get a job... thanks." Zarl left the alley, turned the corner and din't walk any further. He was hoping he could understand what he would say.

The kid backed off and Ocelot didn't see any reason for deceit. It was unlikely he knew what kind of package he was carrying and whether he'd even know what to do with it was doubtful. Taking a few paces to recede into the alley, Ocelot took out his commlink again. "Command, this is Ocelot, designation O12-B. I had to deal with some disturbance, the situation is resolved. I've got the package. Going to transfer off-world, shouldn't have any trouble in doing so. Ocelot over and out." With a cautious glance down both sides of the alleyway, the soldier proceeded down the opposite end to the thief. He'd be on close guard now, there were many on Christophsis that would mean to harm the reputation and assets of the Republic, especially with the rumored Mandalorian uprising finally getting into gear.

"Command, this is Ocelot, designation... B... had to deal... disturbance... resolved... got the package... transfer off-world." Zarl couldn't hear exactly what he said, but he knew what he meant. He slowly peaked around the corner, and saw "Ocelot" walking to the other side of the alley. Zarl had to stop him before he left the planet, and decided to follow the man until he would get into a populated place. He would try to act like he was actually searching for work, so that if he would get caught, he could say he was looking for work. It shouldn't be too hard to pickpocket him in a busy place.

Making his way through the busy morning crowds, Ocelot kept an eye out for anybody trailing him. That kid was probably harmless, but he was obviously prepared to fight and steal for a living. Whether he knew about the data or not Ocelot wasn't exactly sure of. Moving with purpose through the streets, he continued to keep one arm on his blaster rifle. The GAR's next deployment for him surely wouldn't be something so trivial. It had been a while since he'd been on the open battlefield and he wasn't sure whether fighting against the skilled forces of mandalore would would be a fitting challenge or an rude awakening. The tides of age crashed heavily against a skill set once built on strength coupled with speed and he doubted he'd keep this up much longer.

Zarl followed Ocelot through the streets. He noticed Ocelot was more cautious than before, so Zarl made sure he would do it.
They finally entered a busy street, and Zarl walked into the street from another entrance than Ocelot. Zarl walked walked through the crowds, got near Ocelot and tried to pickpocket him.
