Ok! So, it's come to my attention that members are feeling like the faction has grown stagnant, or come to a position where there's not much left to do. So far, the Chiss Ascendancy has greatly expanded its territory and heavily fortified its borders and inner colonies. At the end of this post, I'll have a list of links to threads that relate to the general faction's activities. Some of these threads are just events that have to do with the faction, but most are open to all members. Most of the threads labeled [Invite] or [Ask] are just to keep it from being generally open, but these threads are open to all Chiss members that wish to take part in faction development.

I will continue to make new posts in this thread with links to open threads that are started. People are free to use this thread to express interest in joining, or asking questions about certain threads, but please refrain from turning this into an off-topic social thread.

Threads labeled as (ONGOING) are currently still progressing. Threads that are open to members have been described as such. More threads will be added to this list soon. These coming threads will also be posted in a new post to notify people. If anyone wishes to start an open thread activity, or does a private thread that pertains to the faction, please feel free to do so and post a link in this thread.

You should check with Boli and Lavi on Holocaustic Labs' stuff. I don't think they were ever formally approved, and shouldn't have been signing contracts or building gear for anyone.

Cleared this a while back. Blue and I first started talking about in the indi faction's thread, and I've since heard that Indi factions were free to go about their business at this point. To my knowledge, a few admins were aware of the business transaction, and all it entailed was the access to armory designs and minor weapons production. Holocaustic Labs was providing a small portion of manufacturing for the weaponry, but Chiss technicians did the majority of productions. The only other deal that was struck was that if the Chiss ever found themselves in a state of declared war with another faction, that production rates and purchases for routine shipments were to be tripled. Also, Blue told me that even though she isn't RPing Mitya or the other HL LTD characters, that the signed deal still holds.

You still need to check in with Boli or Lavi about it, Zach, and make sure Holocaustic was formally approved. If they were never approved, then everything they did contract/business-wise needs to be thrown out.

Like I already said, there was admin awareness of everything that went down. But, I'll contact either Boli or Lavi to go over it again, and to confirm that HL LTD is capable of signing such an arrangement.

To nip this in the bud, I reviewed the thread and there a number of faulty details that seem to have been overlooked.

To begin, Griff doesn't have the kind of access to freely roam about the Marine Corps armory and collect a convoy of shopping carts with weaponry and ammunition. He DEFINITELY wouldn't have security access to nuclear warheads, since that's restricted to the highest security class of admirals and generals. To my knowledge, according to your application and character profile, Griff is only a Recruit in the Marine Corps. Only Alex Dregar has that kind of access at the moment, as his character, Caris, is the leader of the Marine Corps.

Secondly, if your character left the marine corps, as you stated he did, Griff wouldn't be allowed on the base unattended. Also, another detail you mentioned, was that only a few officers remained in the Marine Corps headquarters. That is entirely unrealistic and untrue, so I'm just going to go ahead and overrule that by saying it's been as active and filled with dutiful soldiers as ever. Furthermore, the base itself isn't attached to the Citadel on Csilla, it's an entirely separate facility. You would have only targeted a single outpost of that branch of the Expansionary Defense Force's military.

Aside from not having access to the security codes for obtaining all those munitions, you wouldn't actually be able to arm the warheads without the clearance of a superior officer. This level of security clearance would also apply to the access of individual ships, along with the records of distributing weaponry and Chiss technology through an Arms Master. Just like any other military, all this stuff is kept on record and monitored through inventory reports and requisition logs.

All of that aside, I'm still willing to let this act of terrorism happen, but per those limitations I pointed out. As a side note, with the 10 hour delay, and the constant Chiss surveillance that's been RPed out for security purposes, the bomb would be detected within minutes and be deactivated, as well as Griff being intercepted before he could even break atmosphere.

Can you specify what you mean? Just for clarification.

If you mean just taking a mass amount of weaponry and bugging out, those records would still show up on military logs and security footage and surveillance. If you removed the content of nuclear devices, Griff wouldn't be labeled as a traitor, but he would still be seen as a defector for stealing Chiss military equipment and making an unauthorized departure from the base with a Chiss ship. The nuke was pretty much the only unrealistic action, especially given that there wasn't a thread set up in preparation for the event, but everything else can continue, if you wish.

yeah maybe on surveillance, but the same footage would show countless Marines and Soldiers taking weapons for "missions". Griff was acting independantly and was still part of the Marines when he entered and left the armory. He was gathering munitions and loaded them into his small craft, one that he took on a "sortie" (a simulated air combat mission) and left the area. He didn't tell anyone or leave any message saying that he was no longer part of it, he just disappeared.

If there was no record or log of a mission that Griff was assigned to, all those munitions and the ship he took would be a huge red flag on security intelligence. Even if there were counless soldiers, the logs of what ammunition were distributed would still show up. If you did it off the books, you'd have to go take down the Arms Master, or breach the security protocols and whatnot. Since those limitations aren't really defined, it's fine if you decide to up and leave. To reinforce that, because he was only a Recruit before leaving, Griff wouldn't have been allowed to take all that stuff for his own mission. That would ony be permitted if it was for an assigned mission with his squad and commanding officer. Because it wasn't, Griff basically just made off with a bunch of stolen goods, without any clearance or making an effort to conceal himself.

So, with your edits, you can still make your getaway from the hangar, but please do not edit in any further events after your departure from the hangar.

Trance, you're also misunderstanding of how armories work. Nukes would definitely be in restricted areas under lockdown with a lot of security. They're not going to be found between your thermal dentonators and water canteens. The anonymity you're claiming wouldn't happen.

Nuke armories are for nukes, not for marine picnics, so there will not be enough 'activity' that you're claiming would be difficult to differentiate.

Also, what is the motive behind this attack? People generally don't wake up one morning thinking "I'm gonna blow a planet to kingdom come."

Well, whenever you decide to continue, please make sure to contact either Weiss, Black Noise, or myself, or post in this thread whenever you've made the edits.

I was wondering the same thing. If this is involved with the event for the storyline that you had in mind, I'd love to hear about it, but I would assume that it ties into your character's background.

I'm hesitant in approaching this, but you already made the decision and action to defect from the CA. The only matters that were being disputed was what Griff was actually capable of doing. The rest, however, still applies, unless I'm mistaken or missed something. The Chiss fleet and security forces around the planet would be aware of the transgressions within the base and seen the readings from regular scans and sensors to detect the ship as it was leaving.

A small response-post was made in this thread in regards to the forces present at Csilla and communication between relevant leaders. Primarily, this would consist of Black Noise, as the Tactical Commander and leader of the military branch, Weiss, as the Head of Intelligence of CAIN Operations (including diplomatic and legal disputes, since this is technically a crime against the CA), and myself with Dorann, the Grand Imperator. Count Sam may also want to take part as a member on the Council of Eminence, but as the High Immortal, he might not want to, since it doesn't pertain to the Immortal Order or Force topics.

Well people don't usually defect and try to blow things up, then when they find out that they are screwed they simply try to go back on what they did. Tbh, this is really cheap and you will just have to deal with what is going to happen to your character. However; I am not the faction leader so it is really up to zach to decide if you can undo what you did or not.

ok either way I'm farked. Ill accept the concequenses but I'll make the post more belivable. Maybe instead of having him blown up in the sky, have him interrogated and beaten to death? (more traditional to the imperial ways)

The Chiss are not the Empire, we are different and if I must say we are more civilized than them and we treat people a little bit better than they do. So normally I would assume that your character would be court martialed for his treason and would be given a fair trial.
