His hopes for this move were to give the Republic time to strengthen itself. His speech during the session played in an essential role in the pact’s passage in the senate.
  
• Sunset Over Manaan: As a team Jedi Vollen Shai and Senator Zamid Sarlo work together to negotiate with Manaan’s authorities and with the Valkin refugee community. In the process they secure copoperation from both sides and escort the refugees to transports in order return the Vaklin people back to their original homeland.
  
• Shattered Faith: Zamid Sarlo receives the tragic news of his only daughter’s death by a pirate attack shortly the assassination attempt on Mori Valroum. The next morning he boardcasts live his resignation as senator in a fit of sorrowful rage blaming the Republic. Then he leaves Coruscant, piloting his shuttle alone.
  
• What’s Remains: A week later the now homless and drunk Sarlo wastes away in misery on Bandomeer. He is found by the Sith warrior Zanna Keesh who recognizes him. She alerts her superiors and so Darth Evandrus comes into a bar where the former senator is. After a discussion, the Duros is convinced to join the Empire to make a better galaxy and exits the bar with new purpose.
  
• Ready As I’ll Ever Be: Zamid arrived on Serenno and is detained as a stowaway on a freighter. On his request he is questioned by a member of the Empire, Sith Master Spencer Ward. The ex-senator explains his intentions which the Sith accepts with a warning toward any possible betrayal.
  
• First Steps: Sarlo is taken to the Sith fortress on Serenno under escort. Once in the grand chamber he is brought before Empress Andraste. The ruler conducts a final interview with her guest. In the end makes him a junior moff of Saleucami, with the task of governing the planet and helping to expand the Empire by diplomatic means.
