An experienced and battle worn Cathar appears on a small electronic holopad; his expression is that of a great calm and the eyes were a golden orange and forms very much like a cats, oddly enough. He was muscle bound and dressed plainly but the aura of authority, honor, and leadership was apparent. (He is of the subspecies that is of Juhani)

Log 1 – Year 1445

Ah, my son, I am glade that you have made it to your first birthday and still bare the same eyes as I do. I had managed to get this holopad from one of the rare visitors that come to our planet. Its price was high so it shall be given to you on your tenth; the day where you start to become a man of our tribe. I would just like you to know, no matter what you do or where you go my blessing is always on you, Cerus.

-Hologram flickers off and the interface starts to dim.

This time, a different tiger appears at the holopad. He seems to be younger and the eyes had the same golden sheen to them.

Log 2 – Year 1455
I would like to make this first log to my father; I thank you for this present even though you cannot hear it… Somehow, you knew that your death was approaching and bought a memento of you and I shall cherish this gift for the rest of my years in memory of you.

Log 3 – Year 1455
Although it is the next day and I could have easily said this then but I said I would dedicate that log to my father and I try to honor my word, just as mother has taught me. After the birthday celebration I shall begin my training to become a man in my tribe. The elders say I have a great shadow bearing over me. My father was a great man; a leader of his hunting pack, strong, agile and a mind that thinks inventively to trap his pray. To overcome my father shall be my greatest goal. When I do this, I know as he watches with the ancestors he shall be proud of who I am.

Log 4 – Year 1458
Tomorrow I am going for my first real hunt and I am sure that sleep shall be only a wink or two tonight after the meal. The pack leaders have said that I am worthy to be the son of my father, Feeth, and this brings my family great pride and stature in the pack.

Log 5 – Year 1459
It is the day after the hunting; I am not just hunting small animals to just learn the tools of the trade, no, now I am a real man of my pack. I have aided in the clearing in the clearing a lair of a mighty beasts, the Kiltik. I must confess I have gained a few wounds after this battle but it shall heal in time; our people mend quickly. I must take me leave now; a celebration is at hand and it is to honor the warriors who have returned from a victorious battle.

The next several logs entail a weekly report of the hunting party’s process, Ceruss’ comments on how the packs elders are gaining a greater level of respect for the young Cathar and he also makes several notes about certain female Cathar in his pack.

Log 28 – Year 1460
Ancestors be praised! Due to a large stroke of luck on my part the Elders have been almost forced to raise me to a hunting pack leader. I shall now have several of my Brothers following me in the thrill of the hunt and for the greater glory of our pack. As for the reason, a great beast with massive fangs and impressive claws walked onto our hunting party. It was an impossible hunt, but our party managed to fell the great beast. Its’ raw strength was only excelled by its lack of sense and therefore easily fell into a trap that I devised. Something is odd though, this beast does not seem native to these lands but as long as it’s danger to the pack is gone; that is good enough for me.

Log 30 – Year 1461
On the hunts I feel as though I am being watched, not just by my peers but by something else; something that shouldn’t be here. I have heard strange noises come from the nearby bushes but it must be that I am just getting a little paranoid; the elders say that currently relations with the neighboring pack is tense, at best.

Log 31 – Year 1461
Well, it has started. It seems that my feeling of being watched was warranted. Just today we were attacked by a small war party from that very pack. Sadly we had to retreat as they had the surprise but now that the war has been declared. I pray to the Ancestors that I do not get caught in such an ambush again.

Log 32 – Year 1461
Do they not fight without honor! Still, I am being watched and the open declaration of war was not enough to make them remove their spies from our official region; I thought the Elders rules had outlawed these actions! I spit on shriveled plant that is their honor; it shall need the blood of their people to grow.

Log 33 – Year 1462
It seems as though the rival clan was not watching me after all… A group of mercenaries have actually been watching my progress throughout the past year after aided in the death of a powerful beast that I had encountered. They had apparently enslaved my father in this trade and he had recently died while in service… Strikes me as to why they took another one of us. Upon capture they had given me an ultimatum, like what they did to my father; “Work for us or you and your pack shall die.” Assuming that they speak the truth about my father, their word is honorable and I shall have to work for them… I shall pray to the ancestors that they are.

Log 34 – Year 1462
As I have accepted their ‘deal’ they have started to train me even more but instead of the hunt as it was when I was a child, it is in the way of war. They do seem like they shall keep their word with me but I have a feeling that if I die, a fate like mine shall be placed onto another one of my pack. I MUST prevent that.

Log 36 – Year 1462
It is strange, in the tribe they did not take me on real hunting sessions but these men… They seem to be sending me out into the fray onto a ‘mission’ of theirs before I have really started my training.

-The next few logs are about how the training is going and several reports on his fellow mercenaries in this band and how their friendship is growing with them on every mission he is sent on. A few reports, like the ones when he was back in his pack, about their comments on his skill and how he is like his father.

Log 48 – Year 1464
The Mercs who were teaching me has now declared that my training is now over; they have taught me all they know in the airs of heavy repeating slug throwers and taught me about close combat using my pack sword. Wait; there is one thing that I must do; a final mission before it is complete. Mighty Ancestors, I am far from your sacred land but I hope you give me the blessing if success to reduce harm dealt to my pack.

Cerus had changed rather dramatically when compared to his last log; his fur had changed colours to better suit the metallic skin that now covers most of his external limbs.

Log 49 – Year 1465
It seems as though my final mission failed. my only recollection of it was that we were getting shot down by the military before we had even got to the surface and I assume I was picked up by someone and he had given me these new limbs...

Log 50 - Year 1465
It has been awhile since I had made a log, however, I think I have finally learned why I am still here when compared to my other mercs that had went with me and it involves some strange idea of 'evolution'. To what I thought was normal, my rapid healing abilities of my people seems to be unusual and helped me last longer than my friends. That, and, my furs abilty to meld into its surroundings as camouflage warranted interest to this planet or well... This man and for some reason replaced my lost limbs with artificial ones and is constantly bothering me to 'blend' into the surroundings; of course it always fails...
However, I owe my life to this man, so no matter how mundane and moronic actions he is asking me to do, I must do it.

No, just the profile image. Could easily get away with being a Rakshasa, actually, appearance wise.

o_O his neck is the same size as his waist...

Why not keep him? Could say Glitches character was killed, and you can think of something else for Cerus.

I've noticed that independent characters don't go too far (Plus, I'm a half lazy RPer and have trouble keeping up two characters sometimes) but as for the killing of Gliched, well, I'm yet to even get to him in the history...

Edit: As for the battling thing, I rather not kill him off XD

I've had two Independant characters in the last timeline, and i have one in this one. They can get around good if you know what to do. But hey, man, whatever you want. Its your character.

Hm, maybe I'll keep this guy here as I ponder on what his future may be... I might make him independent when I have the time...

WHOA, hold on for a sec...
Independent characters can be phenomenal if rped right. I prefer independent ones, as they have no restrictions brought on by factions. Also, its easier for them to end up making their own faction.

In the last timeline, I had an independent named Rejik Nupaq who was pretty popular in the forums and kicked ass. My favorite Rp character ever, and I doubt I'll ever make anyone that good again.

And if that makes me seem conceited, and it probably does, ask some other rpers, they'll tell ya...
(and if they disagree, they're stinky doo-doo heads:CIsee:)

I'll give a cookie to whoever reads this and actually gives some feedback onto how to improve it.

Anywho - I finished it... Well, sort of. The end seems like a cheap one but as a request - If anyone wants an overgrown Tiger Man following them like a over-sized Indian Rug with a life debt (With a few things changed) - Feel free to ask.

Edit: Yes, to you other guys about independent characters - You DID convince me
